The Smooth Journal: The Day after – Nov 13th
I have heard of having a case of the Mondays, but I have a case of the Meltdown Tuesdays!!! It’s a really crappy day, it’s dark and grey outside. It’s rainy and cold, there is nothing worse than wet and cold. Yesterday on Meltdown I had another strong performance, but it still ends with the same result, an “L”. Jess warned me about Envi and I listened, I really did. I knew how dangerous he was and I had him!! He was just a few seconds from getting CHOCOLATE WASTED and he slipped out of my grasp! It must have been all of that hair product? That was a horrible night all around, I am pretty sure Delikado bit me, I guess he was trying to give someone else rabies? To add insult injury he broke my cage…I loved that cage I mean I cleaned it out for him and everything. He is just ungrateful..Cubans! So now I have to figure out what’s next for the me? I am out of the Tag Team Tourney and my man Young Mannie is obsessed with Jason Kash, so he is going to pursue that match. I may have to get him out of jail after that match since he told me he was going to kill him. I tried to tell him you can’t just go around killing people…it’s not civilized.
Since I've been in APW I’ve been in a Triple Threat Match, Six Man Tag, 2 Tag Team contests, and a Japanese over the top rope bat shit crazy Death Match! I haven’t had the chance to rest on my own merits in one on one competition. I am ready to stand on my own two feet and show APW and the fans that the SMOOTH ONE is one of the most talented competitors on the Meltdown roster. I have tangled with the best of APW: Lively, Streets, Shadow, Raab, Strike, Yarmouth, and now add Envikado to the list and while they won’t admit to it they know that Mr. William D. Williams Jr. is tough son of a gun. I won’t back down from anybody and I am going to keep hustling, keep working and keep pushing…I won’t be deterred!
So what’s next….I ‘d like to get my hands on the Finnish Phenom, I am still not happy that he kicked me in the back of the head when we both arrived here. I have to give him credit he is doing his damn thing…a “W” over him could put me right back in the mix. What about “Krunk”? He’s had a tough go of it lately and he probably doubts himself wondering whether or not he still has it? He could be ripe for the picking! KJE…she’s connected and a victory over her could lead to big things? Amy Zing…is she more than just a pretty face? She obsessed with Jess that could mean her focus is off?? She could be a prime candidate for the SMOOTH Operation. I could call out ENVI? I mean he is pissed that I am keeping time with his ex. She wouldn’t be his ex if he had some respect for the lady. Regardless of how much he’s accomplished in the ring a gentleman is a gentleman and he needs to be riminded of that.
Smooth Journal entry: Nov 14th
Ain’t that nothing…the power of positive thinking!! I have a chance to put myself to the ultimate test against one of the best that has ever laced them up. Mr. Meltdown! He built it..it’s his baby, but he’s gone on to bigger and better things and left Meltdown to fresh faces like me. It is time for me to put up or shut up, they’ll be no partners, no distractions, just the crowd cheering for me partly because they hate him and well the ladies love the Smooth One. I guess I got under his skin a little bit, well not even a little bit A LOT. He is connected in the back and he can pretty much get what he wants. So this match is what he wanted! He is trying to prove a point, trying to make an example out of me. He wants to try and destroy me before I can even get my career started, He wants to send a message to the upstarts, youngsters that you just can’t come into APW running your mouth, talking smack and think that you aren’t going to get put in your place. I actually agree with him to a certain extent, what have I done besides fight hard? What I have done is gotten on the APW radar, made the Meltdown roster take notice and most importantly I have gotten the attention of Evan Envi. Is it because I stood up to him last week on Meltdown? Maybe he can’t believe that this old dude almost WASTED him? This may all be because Jess dumped him and someone else has shown her some attention. He shouldn’t be upset with me because I know how to treat a lady. I could offer him some help with his interpersonal skills and how to effective deal with people. I need to ask him if he knows that you spell Envi with a “Y”? Eh.
It’s kind of surreal that I get to go toe to toe with Evan Envi! He’ll try to intimidate me with tough talk and mind games. He’ll try and convince me that I shouldn’t be in the ring with him and that I am not ready for the big time, the bright lights…the GRAND STAGE. He’ll say that I have never been in this ring by myself, left to my own devices and that the pressure will be too much overcome. I don’t have tough talk, but my actions speak volumes. I know I belong in that ring and while there are some doubters, some saying that why is he getting this opportunity and wishing they were in my shoes. I am going prove to all the naysayers what I am all about. I won’t be out done and I have some mind games of my own, he doesn’t know that Jess told me about his little problem. And while it’s just a small thing it could just be the advantage I need to have my hand raised in victory. He shouldn’t be concerned about it though it happens to everyone…well not me, I don’t have those kinds of problems. I am excited about this match and what the future holds for me in APW. Evan Envi vs. “The SMOOTH ONE” William D. Williams Jr. it’s what’s next and it’s going to be one for the ages!!

In his home office, Williams’ searches for his work BlackBerry so he can check in with his secretary the lovely Ms. Jones at the offices of Greenberg, Steinberg, Cochran and Williams. There are two new partners at the firm Mr. Martinez and Mr. Lin. They both have been at the firm for awhile and I since I am on sabbatical they have taken on most of my work. These guys deserve this and they both have worked very hard to advance the firm and provide the type of diversity necessary to reach a growing consumer base. The firm is better for it so I don’t have to worry while I embark on this new endeavor. I do like to check in from time to time…

William: Listen Jess I know what Envi is capable of. I know that he is talented, skilled, accomplished and most of all dangerous. He could put me out of commission maybe even cripple me, but I am not afraid of him. Maybe I am too stupid to be afraid, but I am not. I was in the ring with him last week and there was no fear. I learned a lot that night. I learned that Envi is vulnerable and that he has weaknesses. He was concerned about his legacy about the house that he built. It’s not APW’s Monday Night Meltdown, it’s Evan Envi’s Monday Night Meltdown. He had little concern for his opponents and only that he was in the place that jettisoned his career and that someone was checking for his ex! Jess, when I had Envi across my shoulders and he was about to go NIGHT NIGHT..I felt for a brief second that I have arrived and a piece of Meltdown was mine. A changing of the guard so to speak: The dawn of a new era. However, as quickly as it came, it dissipated. I want that feeling back…I need to have it back.
William: Jess, I am as confident as I can be, but realistic *pondering* Real talk, I am not supposed to win this match. Everything is against me, hell just the experience difference alone says I shouldn’t last a minute. However, there is a time and place for everything and there is a time for new beginnings, a time to pass the torch. Meltdown is evolving and if Envi had done all there was to be done on Meltdown they would have shut it down, but they didn’t! There would be no AJP- North American Champion, No Smooth One, no M&M, No Mannie! This is what’s next for me…to dig deep and reach further within my soul to do whatever is necessary to gain victory.

Wow..my father is off the chain, but he’s right though Envi is dangerous. Ms. Jones said the same thing. There are a lot of people that are pulling for me and I can’t let them down. I have one more phone call to make before I head to the gym.

William: I am good…it’s nice to hear your voice. You sound in good spirits.
Jess: I am..things are well Really well *smilling* You sound like you have something on your mind. Is it Envi?
William: Nah, who’s worried about him?(Eh hey ..ahem)..ummm. yep!
Jess: Well honestly you should be?
William: Gee thanks Jess…not you too.
Jess: He’s talented, experienced and well…dangerous all topped off with a smidgeon of pissed!
William: The first things I knew, but do you think he wants you back?
Jess: I don’t know…it’s probably more like he doesn’t want anyone else to have me.
William: Yeah I can imagine.

William: I am as ready as I’ll ever be. *scratching bite area*

William: Listen Jess I know what Envi is capable of. I know that he is talented, skilled, accomplished and most of all dangerous. He could put me out of commission maybe even cripple me, but I am not afraid of him. Maybe I am too stupid to be afraid, but I am not. I was in the ring with him last week and there was no fear. I learned a lot that night. I learned that Envi is vulnerable and that he has weaknesses. He was concerned about his legacy about the house that he built. It’s not APW’s Monday Night Meltdown, it’s Evan Envi’s Monday Night Meltdown. He had little concern for his opponents and only that he was in the place that jettisoned his career and that someone was checking for his ex! Jess, when I had Envi across my shoulders and he was about to go NIGHT NIGHT..I felt for a brief second that I have arrived and a piece of Meltdown was mine. A changing of the guard so to speak: The dawn of a new era. However, as quickly as it came, it dissipated. I want that feeling back…I need to have it back.
William: Jess, I am as confident as I can be, but realistic *pondering* Real talk, I am not supposed to win this match. Everything is against me, hell just the experience difference alone says I shouldn’t last a minute. However, there is a time and place for everything and there is a time for new beginnings, a time to pass the torch. Meltdown is evolving and if Envi had done all there was to be done on Meltdown they would have shut it down, but they didn’t! There would be no AJP- North American Champion, No Smooth One, no M&M, No Mannie! This is what’s next for me…to dig deep and reach further within my soul to do whatever is necessary to gain victory.
Jess: OK
William: Jess…I’ll do anything to win this match....ANYTHING!!
Jess: Are you ok?…you sound different?.
William: I am ok…you know I am sorry I have dominated this conversation with stuff about me.

Jess: We don’t have to talk about it now…I appreciate that you confided in me with your concerns about Envi.
