( THIS IS DESTINY )
Starring: Johnny Sykes | Location: Los Angeles, CA | Attire: Click Here[/center]
On this Sunday night, APW would be hosting their annual Shockwave pay per view event from Los Angeles, California. It was going to be a huge night for a lot of people involved and some of the best matches were going to take place. Not to mention a lot of the feuds that have currently been going on are finally going to come to a head. One of those matches and feuds just happened to be the TLC Fatal Four Way Match. It happens to be the match a lot of people want to see the most.
With that being said the cameras proceeded to open up, and the setting of this evening happened to be inside the empty Staples Center. There in the ring sat a couple of chairs set up. There was a table set up off to the side and in the middle of the ring happened to be a ladder. However at the top of the ladder set the one and only, Johnny Sykes. He had a big smile on his face as the cameras started to zoom in on him a bit.
Johnny Sykes: On the night I stepped foot into APW. I instantly got this vibe from people that not many of them thought too highly of me. I got this feeling that not too many people felt I could roll with ‘their kind’ and that I didn’t belong here. Being the super cool dude that I am I let it roll right off my shoulders. It hadn’t been the first time I was in that position and I know it won’t be the last time either. I wasn’t about to let some dirty looks and negative thoughts derail me from the plans and the goals I had coming to APW. Sure enough here I stand a few months later, which I am sure is shock to many.
He slightly nodded his head a little bit. There was no doubt about it there was many within APW that was shocked Sykes was still around. Not very many people expected him to make it the first couple days, let alone the last couple of months.
Johnny Sykes: Not only am I still here, but I happen to find myself in a championship match. Had you told me a few months back that I’d be competing in a championship match so soon I wouldn’t have believed it. If you would have told any of these guys I’m facing at Shockwave that I’d be competing against them, they wouldn’t believe it either. In fact it would be the same thing if you told the fans that as well. However it is funny how things change just like that. I for one am certainly looking forward to this match. It’s a big night for me and a big night for everyone else.
Sykes had been pumped up for this match all week long, for those whom had him on twitter would be able to see that. After all it’s about the only thing he has been talking about as of late and that was completely understandable.
Johnny Sykes: It is rather fitting that a match like this takes place under TLC rules. I mean you have four of the best that Asylum has to offer competing for a chance at a championship? There is no other way this match could take place except for under these rules. Anything else would be cheap. It would be cheating me. It’d be cheating everyone else in the match. It’d be cheating the fans and we can’t have something like that. It is not acceptable by any account what so ever. Of course, I know there’s one person that’s going to throw a total bish fit over this match and it’s rules.
Here is where people would start to ask questions and begin to get a little curious as to who he was talking about and where he was going with things. Thankfully they weren’t going to have to wait very long at all.
Johnny Sykes: Of course I’d be referring to Mikey Callahan, the current Pro-Life Champion. I have come to realize that Mikey is a bit of a chicken-shit if you will. You see there’s a reason why that very championship is Pro-Life. Mikey was scared of the hardcore lifestyle. He was scared of the extreme nature that the title originally came with. He was too worried about getting his face muffed up and that is why he did his very best to politic his ways out of defending it under those rules. It eventually came to a head where if he won a match then the title would become Pro-Life and all the hardcore-extreme stuff stopped. As you can see he actually won that match.
Sykes was hitting the nail on the head so far when it came to using facts. As much as it made Callahan sound like a bad champion, there was no denying the fact he is champion and that’s all that really mattered despite outside circumstances.
Johnny Sykes: Now that the rules and agreement has been broken when it comes to Mikey defending the title in those situations, seeing as we are doing it in TLC. I can see him coming completely unglued about it. I can see him ranting and raving. I can see him trying to find a way he can politic his way out of things. He’ll go to any lengths he can to get things to go in his favor, but sadly for him on Sunday night there are no short guts. There is no way out of things and he has no other choice but to deal what is coming his way.
He nodded his head a little bit with a smirk. It appeared that Sykes was pleased with the fact that Callahan had to deal with the match and there was no way out of it. At the same time though, he had to make use of the entire situation at hand.
Johnny Sykes: But you know something folks? Despite Mikey showing that he is a coward and despite him being one of those people that are quite under handed. I can’t take too much away from him. He is the champion. He has been a long time and he knows what works. I have to respect him by all accounts based on that, but don’t let that fool you Mikey. I know how much you want to win this match. I know what lengths you’ll go too and I know that this title means the world to you. It is the only thing that has managed to keep you relevant this long. But come Sunday night, that all comes to an end. I don’t care what I gotta do. I don’t care how much you try to cheat. I don’t care what all the others pull. One way or another, I’m dethroning you as Pro-Life Champion and I’m going to go on to be better champion than you ever thought about being donkey breath!
There was Sykes with his childish insults, but regardless of the childish nature of them. Sykes managed to get his point across and made a pretty big statement in the process of doing so.
Johnny Sykes: Jair-Jair Binks is another one of those people that most of APW didn’t see being anything special. He was pretty much treated the same way I was and he truly had to start at the bottom here. Of course I’d be referring to the Meltdown brand. He fought tooth and nail to rise in the ranks. He fought tooth and nail to prove everyone wrong. He fought tooth and nail to land himself a spot on Asylum and I won’t deny him of that. He did all of that and got himself in the position that he is in now. Major props to him for that but there is just one little problem I have with good ol’ Jair-Jair.
He took a moment to pause in order to add some suspense to what was about to come out of his mouth next. Clearly he had something or he wouldn’t have made the statement to begin with. Just then he began to put it all out on the line for people.
Johnny Sykes: He is the only man in this match that doesn’t deserve to be there. I hate being that person that says stuff like that especially when I know how hard the guy worked to get on the main roster to begin with but it is the truth. When there was a triple threat match took place between him, Kash, and myself? He didn’t pin neither Kash or I. Sure, we didn’t have the most decisive victory and things were a little fishy. However at least Kash and I still technically gained a pin fall to be in this match. We technically made sure we got into the match because of what the rules were. It isn’t like we were just added to the match because that was the General Manager’s call like Jair-Jair was. Either way though, he doesn’t belong and there’s no way, I am going to let him take away what I truly want. He’ll try hard, but in the end he’ll crash and burn.
Once again he had a good point, but it wasn’t a guarantee that what he said was actually going to come true. It would be a wait and see kind of situation; however he was headed in the right direction with things.
Johnny Sykes: And finally we come Jason Kash. We haven’t exactly see eye to eye the last couple weeks have we brah? Of course not, it seems that because you’re one of the golden children around here and seeing as you think you are better than I am based on accomplishments. You have this mentality that you can just walk into this match and you can unleash your little violence on all of us and that is supposedly meant to be enough. Supposedly none of us are going to be able to overcome what you bring to the ring. Supposedly we are weak compared to you, so therefore it is going to be a walk in the park for you. Well I can tell you right now Kash, you are out of your damn mind brah.
It wouldn’t surprise too many people that there were some ill words that Sykes had for Kash. After all the two of them weren’t exactly the best of friends and there was quite a bit of frustration as well as hatred between them.
Johnny Sykes: On Asylum, you said that I couldn’t beat you. You said that you were better than me. You said that I wasn’t able to hang with you and that I wasn’t in your league. Yet despite you saying all of that, I was able to prove you wrong and I was able to outsmart you when I pinned you in the center of the ring. Of course I know you’ll say that it was a fluke and you’ll say that it won’t happen again especially when it matters the most but you are rather wrong Kash. I found out what it took to beat you once. I found out how to break you down once and best believe bro, I am going to find a way to do it again, but the only difference is this time it’ll actually mean something. One way or another, I’m making sure you don’t take what I want and what I deserve.
At this point it was going to be interesting to see how Kash and Sykes interacted with each other inside that ring. There was a good chance the two of them would be unleashing all kinds of hell on each other.
Johnny Sykes: Ever since I walked through doors here in APW. I have given you people everything I have. I have entertained. I’ve made you all laugh. I have made you all have a reason to believe in me. Now is the chance to give you people a chance to continue to believe in me and now is my chance to make sure all my hard work pays off. I realize that what I am up against and I know that it isn’t going to be a walk in the park. I don’t expect it to be, but because this is a match that I live for. Because this is a match than I am good at. Because this is a match that puts the odds in my favor and because I know what is at stake as well as how much is on the line. I plan on digging down deep, like never before and putting on the best performance that I have ever put on. I’ll take all the risks I’ll need too. I may get knocked down but I will get right back up. I will do whatever it takes to climb this ladder and pull down that championship.
After all of that came out of his mouth, Sykes was on the right track with things but it was still just a matter of words that didn’t really mean all that much when you looked at it from the bigger picture. On that note, He had one final message.
Johnny Sykes: Ladies and gents, the point is my entire career I was wrote off to be a joke. Not a single person too me seriously. I was told I’d never be a singles star and that I’d never be a prime time player. Well here I stand with an opportunity to prove everyone wrong once again. It might not be easy and I might have to endure some physical hell along the way, but one way or another. This Sunday night at Shockwave, I will leave with the Pro-Life Championship and I finally achieve destiny!
Sykes sat there at the top of that ladder with a smirk on his face. It was pretty clear that he believed in himself and that he believed that this was his time. It was a proven fact that confidence was the key to success and Sykes truly had the confidence. It was just all about seeing in rather or not he could pull it off when it mattered the most. On that note though the cameras proceeded to fade on out to static.
