My Mafia is centered around one of the most criminally-underappreciated sitcoms in the history of television. WKRP in Cincinnati ran for four seasons in the late-70's and early-80's, and starred plenty of pretty big names in an ensemble cast. Gordon Jump (aka: the Maytag man) was the station manager, Loni Anderson became a bonafide sex symbol as the station secretary, Howard Hesseman and Tim Reid both had long careers in the business that included turns as station DJ's, the list goes on.
I encourage you to get familiar with the theme, though it's not a necessity to enjoy this game. There will, however, be a few trivia challenges scattered through the game that will be partially related to the show, so it's to your benefit to do a little research.
I'm looking for 15 people, though I could conceivably run it with 1 or 2 less than that. If anyone has any questions, feel free to ask, either here or by PM.

Either people need to sign up, or Mafia will become a thing of the past over here.
its been 4 days since sign up, ok not that long but its been about 2 weeks since there was last a mafia game here.
if you struggle to get the sign ups, I suggest adapting the game to a smaller one.

I think it's the such obscure topics is what is turning people off, imo. I'm in always and foreva but before this i never heard of the show and even doing a bit of research, still dont quite grasp the idea of the show

Considering that, though it's obviously not something I'm rushing to do. I figured the theme may not be something everyone is familiar with. That said, I didn't think it'd be that much of a turn-off. With that in mind, I urge people that are on the fence about playing to sign up and give this a shot. Really, you don't need to know the variant inside and out to have a fun time with this game. Some of the best Mafia games I've played here have been when I had no idea of the variant, so that's not always a direct influence on one's experience in the game. |

After speaking with a few others, Mafia is on life support here and having 3 weeks between games isnt going to help

Obviously, it's not my aim to delay the start to this for weeks on end. But I don't want to dilute the game by removing roles that have a huge impact in the game, which I'd be doing if we started it now with nine people. After doing some maneuvering, I can run this game with as little as 12 if I have to. I'll make that judgment when the time comes. For now, again, I urge people to sign up and have fun with this. We've got a high-quality group of players so far, and that should make for an exciting game. |

Im not getting pushy, I am simply stating a fact which is glaringly obvious.
Also, previous games that are demanding 14+ roles, usually end with at least 3/4 of them being Modkilled due to inactivity which screws the game up anyway.

I'm not necessarily trying to add fuel to the fire here, however........
Since I believe I'm next in line to run a game after AC I figured I'd just throw this out there. If you, for whatever reason, don't get enough people to play the game and don't want to cut roles.... I have a solution. My game can run with as few as 8 people and the game is Fairly simple in setup. I have cut the bastard part out of it and it's more about the flavor than the roles. I can run to get a game up and going and hopefully spark more interest and then you can run yours when more people are available and such.
Again, just a suggestion. If you'd rather wait for people and play, go for it. I don't care either way.... just another option out there.

Let's give this until Monday. We're close to a playable game here (just need three more; come on, guys!), and I've had the setup ready to go for months. If nobody else signs up by Monday night (and shame on you if you don't!), then T-Marv, go ahead and run your game if you'd like.

Cool! That's 12; we CAN run the game with this. I'll keep registration open until tomorrow morning; anyone that wants to join can, but if nobody does, the game's still on, and will likely start Monday (or Tuesday at the absolute latest).

I'll keep registration open until, let's say, 4 p.m. Eastern time tomorrow afternoon (know I said morning originally, but I got sent to a soccer game that will keep me busy in the late-morning and early-afternoon hours). This game is doable with 12 players, but the more, the merrier, and I'll accommodate up to three more if the interest is there.
