Bar room brawl. Tara Jacobs speaks out.
Much has been made of the incident that has caused the suspensions of ‘Spirit’ Tara Jacobs, Fyre Angel and ‘The Lone Wolf’ Victor Brander. An out of court settlement has recently been reached and now one of the stars involved speaks out.
“Ok, I’m straight edge, it’s not just an on camera thing, so I probably have the clearest view on the whole incident. Kyle came over to our table and started yelling that wrestling was fake. We ignored him, I turned away from him and ordered another cola, that was when he started saying that he could beat us up and threw his drink in my face. We took him outside to try and settle this away from the public eye and he threw a punch. Victor reacted instinctually, he had had a little to drink, the kid had had a lot and isn’t a wrestler, that’s what brought us to where we are today. All [Victor] meant to do was to bring the kid down, make him stay down and calm the issue until either the kid backed up or the bouncers arrived.”
When asked about the comments made by Twister over professionalism, Tara agreed, “We are wrestling professionals and we should act that way, but I think that a lot of people have been looking at this in a skewed ‘wrestler beats up public’ manner. We are a tight locker room and we all know that Victor was upset over the issue. The first thing he and I did was to go to the family to make an apology, we met lawyers instead and I think that that is a shame. The way NBC presented it and tried to escalate the issue was also distasteful. I won‘t say that the kid was lucky, he got a broken arm out of the issue, but if he had have harassed anyone else in the bar in the same way, threw a drink in their face, the retaliation might have been a punch, it might have been a broken bottle. None of us retaliated, Victor only acted to defend himself.”
On her suspension, Tara said, “We were involved in an incident, the media made a big deal of it, it’s up to the bosses. Of course they have to be seen to take action. When will I be back? Again, that’s up to the bosses, I genuinely hurt my neck at Sabotage so I was due some time to heal up anyway, but I’ll be back in the ring when I’m back in the ring.”
