BEEP BOOP HERE IS MY FEED BAG:
- Cool video, especially for being whipped up on such short notice. Just gives show that little extra somethink so it does.
- Opening commentary does its job.
- I love that the Cage Trap opening had a wonderful EFG reference in it. God damn Shark Cage on a Pole, the future standard for Profession eWrestling. For such a silly stip, this was one hell of a match. An opener that really set the tone. Sad to see Deli leave because he is so lovely and wonderful but I would be hard pressed to say Mania doesn't deserve some recognition on Overdrive, which he now gets. HOORAY.
- I think I mentioned it in the chat at the time but I feel like we may have went overboard for segments on the PPV. I know it's a cross brand with three shows and everyone wants to try and get something in but really, for a PPV they shouldn't be as long as some of these were. Care in point, Logan and Sienna would have had no problem being a segment on Meltdown but I just find it hard to justify that sort of length on a PPV that should more or less be about the matches. Hell, this almost strikes me as an unused RP. It's a good build piece, I just... I dunno, just too much
- One day, I look forward to seeing an entire Asylum of nothing but Kash segments concluding in him taking a dump at some location. Dude, I would have thought you would have exhausted that well by now but you're the energizer bunny of taking dumps. I feel this was more reasonable in size but back to back... hmmm.
- Sad that we had a no-show in the second bout, especially because Rebel booked it with the belief that wouldn't be an issue. Still, The Finnish Streetbum picks up a big PPV win and heads onwards on his journey to be the first APW Catholic Champion.
- I'm still trying to get over the Raab/Yarmouth break-up. I feel the guys had a lot to offer each other. Still, if you're going down this pathway, the segment does what it needs to do.
- I will say that as I've not run into Goeren apart from in his APW cameos to date, I absolutely love the man. I wish I had more time to read Overdrive because between him and Deli, I'm in heaven for characters that appeal to my ridiculous sensibilities. Again, this strikes me as a segment that should have been part of the build, rather than on the show itself but I loved the L-1/Goeren interaction. I think I keep harping on because this show is hella long enough with the matches and some of these segments would have done a super job for building towards the PPV, which sometimes falls a little off what we should be able to achieve with our roster. Then again, I don' t really know where you could have made this fit on OD. Still, it was lovely!
- Ah, now there's the sweet spot. Nice little interaction between Biggs and Gates. I would be terrified to be involved in the tag scene if they went that way. I mean, JAYSUS. I also get the impression that CJ and Goeren don't like each other very much!
- Kash has had a hell of time with his title defense this weather, he's not exactly been up against the easiest opponents in the world and I know people like Hart are in awe of Jair, from his reactions OOC. In a way, the result did surprise me because I hadn't had much time to read the RPs and I know Kash has had to fire on all cylinders recently to keep hold of the belt that I would have thought Jair could sneak this one, not to be and Kash proves himself once again as an excellent talent. Great match though.
- CJ/Keaton is the kind of segment, given the events, could only work on the PPV. Keaton needed that little air of closure after his move to Asylum. Not sure about the T-Marv argument, kinda confused me on that one but again, I haven't had a watchful eye on OD recently.
- Good, short A.C thingy! A segment with a purpose, driving towards the PPV match without being overly indulgent. HOORAY
- I've loved the TJ/Farq feud. I've made my feeling on Farq clear time and time again, the dude was a joy to work with and he's still a joy to read now. Purely for story narrative, I thought this would very well be a TJ victory if only because of the build. We had a discussion on EFG where we felt that this would have to be the finale of the feud, that this had to be the conclusion but I think the ending has left Farq and TJ in this odd little wiggle room area. TJ has done gangbusters on Asylum but Jules is an excellent writer and a deserving winner. I think as a booker, I'd have given TJ the win and moved Jules up to the mainish event level (probably given him my spot in that #1 contenders match, that's for sure). However, we live in a competitive RP world and Jules continues his reign of terror.
- People having super? Are they eating mutating toxins Lively? IS THAT YOUR GOAL? Fun segment without treading old ground.
- I kinda feel that bring elsewhere history into APW can end up losing the reader but it's a hard balance to find when you have a story to tell. Eurgh, I'ma be a dick and call this too indulgent for a PPV segment. Especially when you already had a massive LA segment earlier on the show. I really don't know how we deal with this issue though.
- Still can't be mad for too long at our dearest Evan Envi. Like most matches on this PPV, the competition was fierce here. I mean, we're talking about matches that I'm sure were made on a knife edge because really, any of the three would be a deserving champion and the match I think do an excellent job reflecting that. I must admit, I didn't expect to see a Watson win, he's made quite the recovery from staring into the abyss a few months back. Great job guyses.
- Awwww Terry and Goeren, BFFs. THE BEST JERRY, THE BEST.
- Meltdown is sadly something I haven't had time for (much like OD), which is regretful because I just keep hearing about all these great new writers coming in but haven't had a chance to get familiar with them. AJP shot up the ranks remarkably fast and from what I've heard, that title was very much earned. Bit of a batshit stipulation to work with but the writer done the best with it, since you have to resist to urge to write a Biggsian epic for a match involving some many last man standing moments. I don't even want to try and understand Mannie's entrance. An in-joke I've missed no doubt.
- More continuation of APW's Most Heartbreaking Breakup of The Year! Oh Yarmouth, Raab, where did it all go so wrong?
- Fuck, this chamber. This chamber is what has taken me so long to do my feedback. Biggs, I have no earthly idea how to you managed out or where you got so much motivation to write a match of this caliber in such a small frame of time. It astounds me. I am in awe. I wasn't on the edge of my seat like I described for the Asylum chamber, but only because I didn't have a horse in the race. This one, I just got to sit back and enjoy. I certainly got what I wanted. For the talent involved, this is what the match should have been. I don't question for a second that this is winning match of the year.
When Marv was talking about the two chambers, we both commented we wouldn't like each others fields. We were almost commiserating our untimely demises in advance. How Marv managed to conquer such an amazingly stacked field, I just can't comprehend, the talent of the man... it's quite something. I actually allowed myself to believe there could have very well been a Biggs win, I just couldn't believe Marv could continue to role he's been on. I thought this would surely by the end of it. Congrats dude, it's well deserved.
- Again for the Battle Royal, with the situation presented to the writer, they done as good a job as they could have to deal with the insanity that the match brings. I was rooting for a Knuckles win to be honest with you. I do like a redemption arc and felt like this would have been a great chance for Knuckles to move on past his Atken loses and get a bit of momentum on his side. Sadly for Knucks, a last minute big get for APW and that was halted in its tracks. Kash, you said you didn't want another Knuckles feud so soon, enjoy the Strike one
- I already posting my kinda of person and selfish reactions to the Asylum chamber but my gushing over the Overdrive one feels like I'm underplaying Callahan's efforts here, which I'm not. This was a deserving main event. I personally feel like I was done justice in the match and I'm sure everyone else involved would attest to that. Once again, I have to congratulate Sally. It's stinging to think that I could have even been close to winning in a field like we had in the chamber but hey, I can admit it, I think the only way I would ever beat Ms. Tal is if she was on a terrible off day and I was on fire. I think we are looking at a lengthy reign, even with our talented field on Asylum. I totally see Sally walking into RM with the belt.
Overall, excellent matches. Loved them. I think we need to think a bit more about balancing our segments on the PPVs though. Maybe some of the stuff could have been used on the House Show board, I'm not sure. I really can't say what the answer is.
Still, onwards to Christmas Chaos as APW continues to crank out amazing handlers and shows.
