Origin #1
Darkness fills the setting as nothing can be seen nor heard to the human eyes or ears. Slowly and steadily the vision becomes clearer and clearer by the second. The sight of an apartment complex fades from the pitch black darkness. Out from the bottom entrance is a young man with a backpack on his back and a smile stretched a mile on his young, youthful, face. He walks down the cracked sidewalk with his arms cradling the straps of his backpack. As he ascends down the street he is intentionally dodging every crack upon the concrete sidewalk. Building after building he passes while making his way to the bus stop.
Out of the distance is the sounds of a child grunting and moaning. The young boy slowly walks towards the corner to enter the alley where the mysterious voice is coming from. Before turning around the corner, the young boy lays his backpack against the wall of the building. After slowly staring off into the distance, much like he is preparing for something, the young man turns in one fluid motion into the alley. In the distance, shining in the sunlight, is a group of young men about the age of the young boy only younger. The sight of the young men intrigues the young boy as he decides to ascend down the alley further.
Finally after moments of walking down the alley, he reaches the group of kids, as he continues to hear the moans and groans. The young man walks up to the nearest individual in the group and asks him questions about the situation.
Young Boy: Hayden, what is going on? It sounded like a fight just happened. Someone get pummeled?
The young man known as Hayden turns towards the other boy after diagnosing his question in his head for a few moments. Finally after a few moments of silence Hayden answers the anxious young man awaiting his answer.
Hayden Smith: Thomas! You just missed the beating of a life time! I couldn't see who it quite was, but it sounded pretty awful. I wouldn't be surprised if he has any broken bones.
The group of young boys slowly start to separate much like Moses parting the Red Sea. Playing the part of Moses is a boy, years older than the rest. Standing about six feet tall is a seventeen year old that goes by the name Matthew. He walks past the young boys with such assertion in his walk and strut. Every boy around him either has a look of fear or amazement in the corneas of their eyes. Matthew is wearing normal street clothes that consists of a pair of jeans and a white tee shirt, a very common attire to anyone his age. After catching a glimpse of Matthew, Thomas grows a smirk across his face to see who his next victim was.
In a short instance Thomas turns his head into the middle of the dog pile of young individuals. Laying on the ground is a young man that looks even younger than the boys surrounding him. The poor boy has cuts on him and is just laying on the cold concrete with the sun beating down upon him with no remorse. He is covering his face with his arms, but what little can be seen is covered with blood. The sight of the young boy laying on the ground immediately turns Thomas's smirk into a serious stare. After seeing the victim of the almost adult Matthew, Thomas turns silent. All of the boys around Thomas notices him looking at the young boy on the ground. Everyone and everything grows silent, so silent that a dropping pin could echo throughout the alley. The silence is interrupted by the voice of Thomas reacting to the sight that the victim of Matthew, is his younger brother Donald.
Thomas Deruty: Donald?!
Immediately after speaking those words, Thomas rushes over to the shaking Donald laying on the concrete in his own blood. Thomas places his hands on the young brother before turning him on his back to see the black eye and bloody nose. After noticing the injuries of Donald, Thomas jumps up from over his brother and starts walking towards Matthew, who is no where to be found. Moments pass of Thomas searching for the attacker before returning to his injured brother Donald.
Complete and utter silence pierce the alley and everyone within it. Seconds pass of nothing being said, until one by one the witnesses of the attack start to diminish in multiple numbers. After a while no one is left there besides Thomas and Donald. Once everyone has left the alley Thomas starts to pick up his younger brother from the ground. The two brothers start to exchange some words to each other.
Thomas Deruty: What happened Donald?
After finally opening his eyes Donald gathers himself before answering his older brother Thomas.
Donald Deruty: Matthew just came out of no where. I was wanting to join him and his friends...he said I had to prove myself. Last thing I knew I was on the ground grabbing my head.
Thomas's eyes start to fill with rage and anger, until finally that adrenaline is expressed through his words towards Donald.
Thomas Deruty: Why do you do this to yourself?! This is the third time this month you have been humiliated by Matthew. He is nothing Donald, don't you see that by now?
The young Donald Deruty just turns his head away from his brother in humiliation. After Thomas finally takes a deep breath, he assists his younger brother to his feet. Step after step he helps Donald through the alley, until they reach the turn where they turn ninety degrees towards the east, back near the apartment. Building after building they pass, with the weight of Donald leaning on Thomas's shoulders as Thomas's arm is grasped around Donald's neck. After a few minutes of slow and steady limping they finally make it back to the apartment complex.
The view zooms out to a birds eye view of the building. After zooming so far the picture goes black, and fades back in with a completely different view of the complex.
Present
The apartment complex is completely cracked up the sides and the doors are nailed shut with boards nailed to the wood doors. The bottom step of the building has been completely demolished and separated from the form of the building. Sidewalks surrounding the building has the same result of graphic images and endless amounts of cracks, much like it was scheduled for demolition. Although one little image stands out above the rest, and that is the sight of a man standing about six foot two. This man has semi spiked hair and is wearing very casual attire of a snow white tuxedo with a matching black vest. He stands there with his hands in his pockets just staring at the building, nothing else can be seen of the man but the back of his head and back.
Soft Voice: All of my life I have had to prove myself.
After moments pass, the man turns towards the camera as his face can be seen clear. The face of the man matches the name of Donald Deruty, newly acquired APW superstar. Almost immediately after turning Donald begins to speak of the building that staggers on wooden blanks behind him.
Donald Deruty: This is the location in which I grew up. The conditions and environment that you see around me, is the kind of resources I lived off of. So many memories have taken place on this exact square and block. Just a few feet from here is where I turned on my best friend, then to only be humiliated myself from the exact same people who influenced me towards the betrayal. My entire life I have had to prove myself, whether it was my parents or my peers. No matter what circumstances.
You see it doesn't end there. All of my professional wrestling career I have only been treated as one thing and that is a joke. No matter what I had accomplished within my career, I was still seen as the one that couldn't get the job done. Year after year of beating opponents and winning championships had passed, yet nothing changed. I was still treated as the same underdog and jobber that I was when I first began my wrestling career. No matter what I accomplished it was the same old bullshit, I wasn't good enough or no one thought I could become Hall of Fame potential. You see I have already written my story in another place of business and now it is time to expand my resume to Action Packed Wrestling.
Donald turns to his right and begins to walk down the cracked and crushed sidewalk of his childhood. While taking step after step he continues to speak towards the camera in such confidence.
Donald Deruty: It is time to wipe my plate clean. To start another chapter in the book of D-Day. Unfortunately for my opponents this week, they are going to be the ones that I make an example of this week. My opponents this week go by the name of the Sons of the South. The group consists of two country farm folk that goes by the name of Mac Bane and Buckson Gooch. Interesting combination of two things that they love, the Big Mac and that great twelve point buck that they crave to put on their mantel. Well unfortunately for the Sons of the South, I am here to make sure they don't get that mounted buck this week at Meltdown.
One of my opponents have already spoken, and to be quite honest he does make some pretty good points. One of the few points that he made is that my partner and myself have had quite a history in the wrestling federation world. Point two of two is this, people would expect a very successful superstar to talk about his past accolades. Well Mac, you are correct, normally a successful wrestler would talk about their past accomplishments, but I am not focused on my past accomplishments. I am here to start a new career and begin a new successful career here in Action Packed Wrestling. You are just the first victim of the bodies that I will line up in the middle of that four sided circle on Meltdown. I have made a living of beating opponents much like yourselves. Men that are bigger than me, I have defeated much more intimidating contenders and a pair of Arkansas hog farmers.
As much as I respect you two for chasing your wrestling dreams there was one action that I strongly disagree with. You speak of how you two will be the next two Tag Team Champions. I think that announcing that statement was a little early, to sound so confident and throw all six hundred pounds of you around is being a little antsy, don't you agree? You are making statements that should come from an individual who has already established themselves in a company, yet you two haven't even gotten your foot in the door. Your destruction this week will be inevitable, you two don't have the mind set that you should going into this week. Instead of worrying about the Tag Team Champions, Kurt Noble and Chris Hart, you should be worried about Zak Warner and myself. Because at Meltdown this week, you won't be facing the talent of Kurt Noble and Chris Hart, you will be facing the talents and experience of Donald “D-Day” Deruty.
Donald continues to walk down the street. Adjusting his tie and blazer as he wishes. After moments and silence he finally continues to speak of his match at Meltdown.
Donald Deruty: Zak, as for yourself, I am not worried about you. I don't care at what talent level you are currently at or what opinion you have of myself. If you don't want to cooperate with myself this week at Meltdown then so be it, I will defeat these to hog farmers by myself. Hopefully you don't feel that way about me, but if you do then that is rather unfortunate for yourself. In the past people have regretted ever getting on my bad side, and I will not hesitate to do the same in the future if you don't cooperate this week. These next few months are for me to make a name for myself and get drafted into Overdrive. This is only the first of many matches we will be in here in Action Packed Wrestling, now lets start it off with a bang and take down the Sons of the South.
Now unfortunately for the Sons of the South this match is going to be a major disappointment. They will not be mounting that big twelve point buck this week, they will not be coming away with a win this week, nor will they be walking away from that ring with their heads high. Have your fun soon Mac and Buck, because at Meltdown this Monday, it will be my turn to have the fun. And it will end with my hand raised high while the two of you look up with your shoulders on the mat.
The scene fades to complete darkness.
