::“The Hong Kong Sensation” Amy Zing moves her hands over the strings of the guitar. She is playing an instrumental version of “Oo De Lally” from Walt Disney’s 21st animated feature film Robin Hood. In the movie, the song is used to introduce Robin Hood and Little John before the encounter Prince John and the Sheriff of Nottingham. She doesn’t bother looking up from the guitar as she plays.::
“For someone who claims to have drawn inspiration from someone like Robin Hood, who takes her name from the legendary bandit of Sherwood Forest, you have a very funny way of show it Robina Hood.”
::Amy is dressed in a pair of jeans and a blouse, with a pair of boots and leather jacket. The former Playboy covergirl’s long hair hangs down over her back and shoulders. She is in the back of the Niagara Falls Memorial Arena in Niagara Falls, Ontario, Canada, near one of the arena’s loading doors. He is also seated on one of the bottom rungs of a secured ladder.::
“In none of the songs, poems or stories do you hear of Robin Hood selling out. He fought injustice, tyranny and oppression. Yes, he was an outlaw, and yes Prince John and the Sheriff punished the people for Robin’s actions, but he fought for the people and they loved him for it. He didn’t sell out.”
“So then, why did you Robina? What kind of promises did Sienna Harrison and Alexander Duvall make to you that were worth your soul? What was your pouch or thirty silver coins?”
“I mean it seems like as soon as you debuted, you developed issues with Niobe Martin and almost immediately after, you had become one of Sienna Harrison’s chosen talents. Now, here you are, about to face me in the ring in a ladder match to protect your master.”
::She keeps playing the song, her fingers moving over the strings of the guitar.::
“I have to ask, Robina, what is in it for you? What promises did she make? I did not see you getting a one-on-one title shot at the North American Championship on any Monday Night Meltdown since you came into Harrison’s service. That service and loyalty you have shown her has not been repaid. She did not place you in a one-on-one match for the North American Championship at Rasslemania, but rather, in her desperation to save her job, she throws you into a multiple person ladder match. Nor did she find another favorite of hers, like Kaylyn James Evans or Young Mannie, to team with you in the tag team tournament.”
“She is going to use you Robina until you are either drafted or of no further use to her, whichever comes first. She is just using you. You have to know that. Deep down inside, you have to know that Sienna doesn’t care about you.”
“You and I are more than likely never going to be friends Robina. I have offered before, but no, you did not seem to want that. I wish things could be different, but I suppose we are who we are and I doubt that will change anytime soon. You have to know that Sienna is not your friend. She is just using you. Deep down, you have to know she is not going to repay any of the loyalty you continue to show her.”
“She will either tire of you, find someone else to replace you either before or after you get drafted to Overdrive or Asylum, or simply get fired by Mark Mania, who now somehow owns Meltdown, which I kind of wish I knew I could buy a company’s wrestling show so I could have bought it.”
::She stops playing and shrugs.::
“Oh well.”
::Looking back at the guitar, Amy starts to play “Oo De Lally” again.::
“The point is, Sienna will turn on you. Look at what happened with Young Mannie. She protects him from me, keeps him safe and I am going to accuse her of sending Kaylyn Evans to the ring twice to ensure his victory. She then declares him the future of Meltdown. Then, as soon as he is drafted, she cuts him loose, no longer trying to protect him or ensure his North American Championship reign as he loses to Warren Peace, which actually sort of proves me right when I said he cannot win without Sienna’s help.”
::Amy smiles a bit. It’s that sort of amused smile people have when they think of something stupid, but still find it somehow amusing.::
“I’d ask you to step aside Robina, to let me just go up that ladder and get the contract and then just walk away as I take out Sienna, but I know you are not going to do that. So that leaves us with the only option we have left; to step into the ring and face each other in a ladder match.”
::She sighs a bit, still playing the song on the Gibson guitar.::
“No Robina, you are going to fight. I would expect nothing less from you. You are a fighter. You have been your whole life. I may not agree with your choices, but I respect that you are a fighter Robina.”
::She sighs again and shakes her head.::
“You will play right into your master’s plan. Either you win and keep her safe, or the match was so hard fought that even if I win, I’ll be in no real shape to fight her after, allowing her, either on her own or with help from whatever minion she’s picked to save her and possibly replace you, to beat me.”
“I know you are smart Robina. You are smart enough to maybe have doubts about her sincerity.”
::She stops playing and looks up.::
“Have you ever asked her? Have you ever really stepped back and looked at the person you are going to be trying to protect from a beating that every single person watching Meltdown and most of the roster wants to see happen?”
::“The Hong Kong Sensation” shakes her head.::
“No, I don’t think you have. I think despite everything I’ve said and maybe you’ve even said to yourself, you like the lie. You need the lie. You need to believe that she cares about you, that she has your best interests in mind. Despite everything she has ever done, you continue to lie to yourself that she is your friend.”
“I suppose maybe she’s given you some sort of justification for her actions against me like I was insolent or some other lie. Personally I think she and Mannie were sleeping together, but that’s just me. Either way, she’s lying to you. She will continue to lie to you, use you and manipulate you until she is bored with you. Then she will cut you loose, because “it’s good for business”.”
“And that’s really what it all comes down to for her, “it’s just good for business”. And right now, what is good for business is having us risk injury so close to Rasslemania in a ladder match so you can try and keep her safe from me. She doesn’t care if you get injured, just as long as she doesn’t have to fight me.”
::She stops playing and looks up.::
“However Robina, as much as you want to keep her safe, I want to get Sienna Harrison into the ring that much more. You are tough, there is no denying that. She chose well. However, I am not going down without a fight. You can knock me down and I will keep getting back up. If I have to crawl and pull myself up that ladder, I will. I am walking into Niagara Falls, Ontario with the goal of finishing what I started next week. I have no intention of letting you or whoever else Sienna Harrison can throw in front of me stop me from getting her in the ring and kicking her smug head off.”
“Again, I know it is foolish to ask Robina, but I will again. Just walk away. Just walk away, let me get that contract, kick Sienna’s head off and then you and I can face each other at Rasslemania in the ladder match for the North American Championship. Just walk away. She is not worth it. I have no desire you to hurt you to get to Harrison, but I will if I have to.”
“When you really look at them, Alexander Duvall and Sienna Harrison are oppresive. It should be you trying to take them down, not me, not anyone else, you. Maybe, if I’m lucky, one kick will wake you up and you’ll realize you are on the wrong side. I doubt it though.”
::Amy rolls her shoulders and repositions the guitar. She starts to play another instrumental version of a song.::
::This song is also from Disney’s Robin Hood. The song was from the scene following the archery tournament scene, where the good guys and some townspeople gather to celebrate. The song Amy plays is their mocking Prince John, entitled “The Phony King of England”.::
“So, what did you promise her Sienna? What were the lies you told to Robina to earn such a loyal soldier? What did she sell her soul for?”
“I hope they were good ones. I hope you are planning to fulfill even one of them. I can’t imagine what Robina would do if and when you betray her. Though, considering Mark Mania may be firing you and Duvall, it may not be an issue.”
::Her fingers move over the strings, strumming the song.::
“So, you never did answer me last week on Meltdown when I asked if you were sleeping with Young Mannie. It was the second time I had made that accusation and you still did not reply. Although, given that you hit me after I asked, that may be my answer. After all, you did everything you could think of to protect him from me and prevent me form becoming champion while he was chasing the title.”
“Then again, maybe it is the fact that when people think of Harrison, they immediately think of your little brother Evan? Maybe you’re just mad that you were unable to cut it as a wrestler so you punish the ones the fans seem to really like.”
“You know, when you really get down to it Sienna, you are pretty much just a vindictive bitch of a shrew. I mean, Evan dumps Aubrey Parker, and as soon as you get power, you and Duvall start to torment AJP and Logan Alexander. When Aubrey leaves, you move on to randomly having issues with Niobe Martin. And of course, you were not even done with Martin before you decided you need to have issues with me.”
::Looking up, Amy stops playing. She shakes her head a bit.::
“I really can’t figure it out. I mean I never dated Evan or you. Maybe it’s because the fans love me more than you. It could be because deep down inside, you know the only Harrison anyone cares about is your baby brother. I don’t know if it is just that big of a bitch you need to hate and destroy other women you think are more popular than you.”
::A confused look comes on the face of “the Hong Kong Sensation”.::
“How is your being a total bitch “good for business”? How is just randomly deciding to dislike someone “good for business”? How is allowing the reigning North American and Tag Team Champions on Meltdown to be drafted “good for business”? How is this habit you have of trying to make hand sculpted talent “good for business”? How was your protecting Young Mannie and now making Robina Hood do your dirty work “good for business?”
::That confused look Amy Zing had on her face is gone, replaced with an angry look. She does not seem happy, and rightfully so one could argue.::
“The answer is that none of those decisions were “good for business”. They were just good for you. You keep trying to make hand sculpted talent because maybe, just maybe, when they make it big, you’ll see some of that action. Mannie was clearly to do that before he got out of control and became a liability and now you are trying to keep a better control over Robina. Allowing Mannie to be drafted may have helped as you clearly removed your protection of him last week when Warren beat him, and letting M&M get drafted just got them off your show for the most part. I suppose either you or Duvall or both of you will find a way to screw them at Rasslemania in a final act before you two are fired. You keep finding people to hate, and it seems like it is just to keep yourself in the spotlight. It is like in your mind, you believe the fans are just tuning into Meltdown to see how huge of a rampaging mega-bitch you are going to be, because God forbid you are not the center of everyone’s bloody universe.”
::Amy closes her eyes and takes a deep breath. She closes her eyes and exhales slowly. She starts to breath normally again and opens her eyes. This usually calms her when she starts to ramble. However, she still looks angry. She gets up off the ladder she has been sitting on, holding her guitar with one hand around the neck and starts to walk off. The camera follows her.::
“Let me tell you something Sienna Harrison. You are not the center of the universe. You maybe running Meltdown and that may make it your show, but it is not YOUR show. Meltdown isn’t even Mark Mania’s show. Yes, he may somehow own it for reasons I am sure none of us will actually ever really understand, but even he seems to realize that while he owns it, it is not HIS show.”
::As she walks, it is clear that Amy is inside an arena. . She pushes the curtain open and walks out into the arena floor, which is setup for Meltdown. The stands are empty. Only the crew is there. She points to the empty seats.::
“Monday Night Meltdown belongs to the fans watching in the arena or at home.”
::She walks back through the curtain and into the arena. She opens one of the doors and walks outside to the trucks. She climbs up the stairs and into the production truck. Inside the truck is the production crew. A few look at Amy as she walks in.::
“It belongs to the people who help get this show on the air, be it the production crew or the ring crew. It belongs to the APW security people working security and the medical staff and trainers keeping us healthy. It belongs to the owners and staffs of the arenas we go to and put the show on.”
::Amy exits the truck and walks back into the arena. She heads towards the locker rooms, passing the offices of the General Manager and Meltdown’s new owner.::
“It belongs to the wrestlers who compete each and every Monday, the referees who are out there with us officiating the matches and to the road agents who help us improve and guide us. It belongs to the interviewers and announcers who keep all the fans up to speed on all the action and goings on.”
::She passes the catering area, where a buffet style meal is set up and several wrestlers, referees and the announcers are either eating, talking or relaxing.::
“And yes, Sienna you are part of the many people who own Meltdown, but it is not yours. It belongs to every person who helps get Meltdown on the air. Without any of those people, this would not be a show. It would just be an unpleasant bitch in an empty arena. You are just a cog in the machine that is Meltdown. Those people are the ones I am going to kick your ass for.”
::Amy stops at one of the locker rooms and walks inside. Her wrestling gear and bag are visible in one of the cubbies. She leans the guitar against the cubbie and turns back to the camera. She has this intense and angry look in her eyes, and it is audible in her voice.::
“I will get passed Robina Hood and get you into the ring Sienna. I do not know what I did that made you hate me as much as you do, but I fully intent to earn it at Meltdown. If I have to walk out to the back, drag you by your hair to the ring just to beat you ass, I will Sienna. I swear to God I will. And I will win.”
“You lack heart. All you care about is yourself. I care about the APW, the boys and girls in the back, and most importantly my fans. That’s why those people cheer me every night whether I win or lose. They know I do this for them as much as myself.”
“Even if I am barely conscious and barely standing after the ladder match, I will still stand to fight you. You are not a wrestler Sienna, you never were and you never will be. At Meltdown, for one night only you get the chance to be one. Unfortunately, it will be the night I beat the absolute bloody hell out of you.”
“There is no where you can run, no where you can hide, and no one who can save you. . I will beat Robina Hood and then I am going to kick your ass Sienna. But, think of the ratings as everyone wants to see it. And that is good for business.”
::Amy moves towards the locker room door. The camera follows and moves out into the hall. The scene fades to black as Amy closes the door.::
“For someone who claims to have drawn inspiration from someone like Robin Hood, who takes her name from the legendary bandit of Sherwood Forest, you have a very funny way of show it Robina Hood.”
