~*~*~*~*~*~
I'm waking up to ash and dust
I wipe my brow and I sweat my rust
I'm breathing in the chemicals
I'm breaking in, shaping up, checking out on the prison bus
This is it, the apocalypse
Whoa
I'm waking up, I feel it in my bones
Enough to make my system blow
Welcome to the new age, to the new age
Welcome to the new age, to the new age
Whoa, whoa, I'm radioactive, radioactive
Whoa, whoa, I'm radioactive, radioactive...
~*~*~*~*~*~
The scene opens to Gabriella standing by the shore of a beach somewhere in Santiago, Chile. The weather is beautiful, instead of the snow covered ground that she's seen a little too much of. Clouds lazily float on through the blue sky. She could hear the adults and the kids running around behind her, the screaming and the talking but she ignored it all, more content to let her thoughts drift around and bounce from one to the other. On top of her head sits a large straw hat with a purple band of material around the dome shape and on her body was a black and pink lacy bikini that rather accentuated her curved, tanned body even more. Her sunglass covered eyes were tilted upwards as she stared out at the horizon, arms crossed under her chest, a slight frown on her face. She wasn't upset at the weather, it was more other things that were upsetting her. Things that were out of her control entirely. Her performance at the star studded Rasslemania had been less that what she usually put out in a match and she came away from it without that gold, and with more bruises and bumps than usual.
Niobe only went into a match with a few things in mind, put on a show, win the match at all costs, and beat her opponent senseless. The only thing she wanted to do that night was run in there and beat Robina into a bloody pulp. Seeing that purple haired bitch of a women turned her vision red in a twisted way that no one would understand. But that story had long since been closed, the ink dried on the pages, and the ending satisfying. She smiled, letting out a long sigh, a small rush of adrenaline flittering through her just then. People would talk about this as a loss, but Niobe considered this a learning experience. She would just have to try harder to get another title shot. The champions that were walking around right now all had targets on their back. There were a lot of eyes on them. Niobe felt like a kid in a candy store, she didn't know what one to pick first.
You could say they were lofty dreams for the Nightmare to think of, but she didn't see it that way. She saw it as a way to advance further, climb to the top of the mountain and raise the gold high. Announce that she was the best that there was in this business and she was gonna continue to fight. But to get there again she was gonna have to fight through a lot of people, make the right calls and see what comes out of it. The loss at Rasslemania was just that, a loss. It was a shame that poor Megan Andrews, aka The Burning Star, couldn't participate in it. The brightly burning light in the sky had been shelved for the past few weeks, missing out on the highly touted event all together. Even though Niobe didn't win, she had to grin because she had been there, saw it all and gotten the experience out of it.
And then there was Tommy Knoxvile. Just the thought of him sent a smile to her lips and a blush to her cheeks, a hand raising up to her face to briefly touch at her lips remembering the kiss he had given her a few weeks ago at the Meltdown event they were at. That match had been a difficult one, having to be across the same ring from him. She hadn't been sure to attack him or pull him away. He of course looked to be in the same kind of boat, not wanting to hurt her but not wanting to jepordize his chance in the match. She hadn't expected him at the door, she had thought it was one of the interviewers or someone else. Imagine her surprise when she found him, and the bigger one when he kissed her right in front of the cameras. That had given the fans something to blog about, wondering where this was going. Niobe had stayed quiet on it, vowing not to spill anything until talking with Tommy again.
She hoped for his sake that his number one contender's match went well and that he pulled out a win. His involvement in her life wasn't going to be an issue as much as people thought. His involvement was going to be a help, knowing that there was that person in her corner to help. But enough about her potential love life, onto the burning star, the burning light in the sky, Megan Andrews.
"Well, with Rasslemania behind us, I'm looking to the future. What about you, oh burning one. The lofty heights have not been good to you have they? You missed out on the event and everything, so sad for you. I didn't do so well either but I'm not going to let that stop me. I'm going to get to the top one way or the other and if I have to snuff out that light of yours over and over again, put you on the shelf for good, then fine, you will be taught the lesson you should of had long ago and your Nightmare will never end."
