Cameras fade in on Melvin Peabody who smiles his wide grin at the screen, as an off-screen audience applauds. He nods to them all and begins to speak:
MEL: Hello, I’m Melvin Peabody and we’ve got a terrific show for you tonight, featuring of course none other than Cid Phoenix from Meltdown, as he gets set to face a man who seeks to make his own impact and gain notoriety in Michael Jennings.
Welcome to the show, Cid!
Cid smiles and waves at the camera as he shakes hands with Melvin and adjusts the black blazer he is wearing, over a white button up shirt and blue jeans.
MEL: Now, let’s see if I can summarize the last few weeks in retrospect. You recently had a wild series of matches with the likes of Kevin Dahlia, Evan McDonald and even Amy Zing. You've competed in a Meltdown Rumble, and most recently an eight-man ladder match for the APW North American Championship. Now you've managed to stay in contention, but how is this match as important or more so than the rest?
CID: Well Melvin, For one, this is a very important match because when I defeat Michael Jennings in this match, I go on to face whoever's North American Champion for their title. This would be the first chance ever in my APW career to get to compete for a singles championship.
MEL: Now you’ve had problems with Both Evan McDonald and Kevin Dahlia too, as each of them has faced you and I believe that Dahlia holds multiple victories over you. How do you feel going into this match to face a man who quite soundly and emphatically beat Kevin Dahlia withing mere minutes.
CID: Honestly, I think that Kevin is one helluva competitor, our rivalry started some month’s ago, and we've had some exciting matches. Take into account that Kevin and I have been in multiple high profile matches as of late, and they can take quite a toll on anybody. They've certainly taken their toll on me. But Michael Jennings is an amazing competitor as well and comes into this, with the need to prove himself. It's a regular happenstance in this company. Everyone wants to prove themselves and we'll stomp over eachother to prove to ourselves our critics, and our fans across the world why it is that we are the best! But I won't underestimate Michael Jennings for one moment in our match! I'm treating every match as if it were a championship caliber match and just focused on the task at hand in the moment, which is getting my hand raised in victory!
MEL: Spoken like a true competitor who knows what it is that he's fighting for!
CID: Thanks, Melvin. I really have this one chance to make a serious impact and drive home the message to the Meltdown Roster that Cid Phoenix is a force to be reckoned with. I dream about that North American Championship around my waist. I won't stop until it's mine, it's why I do this. To gain the gold and glory and the adoration of the fans. I want to culminate my career by painting my legacy in gold!
MEL: Now, am I correct in assuming that as of late you have in fact been wrestling with injuries sustained from your ladder match at RASSLEMANIA IX?
CID: Yes, Melvin. You are right, I was holding in some hurt, but I'm feeling alot better now! I'm pumped and I'm ready to take the fight to Michael Jennings this week!
MEL: Now you sound very confident that you'll push past your opponent this week and go on to face The Guv'Nor for his North American Championship. What motivation do you have going into this match?
CID: My motivation actually lies in the journey that I've taken. After being put through such trials, my body and spirit have both been through the grinder, but I've never faltered where it counted. I will get past Michael Jennings and face The Guv'Nor for his title and I will become the next APW North American Champion!
MEL: Wow, thats amazing! Good to see you motivated! Any words for your opponent this week?

CID: Michael, you may have your motivations in trying to knock me down a peg, but you're going to find out this week that you can't and you won't. I have waited a chance like this and I will mow through you and anyone else in my path towards becoming champion. Get ready this week, because the Cid Phoenix you face this week is one seriously gold-hungry mother who will do everything in his power to break you and leave you laying inside that very ring! I have come too far to suffer a setback now. Guv'Nor! I hope you'll be watching, because tonight, you get to see what's in store for you in the near future!
