The scene opens up in a wrestling gym inside of a warehouse. Jace is grappling with some one unfamiliar to the APW fans. They go a few more rounds before taking a break. Jace walks over and grabs his bottle of water. He takes a nice long drink, puts the cap back on and heads back to the ring. Jace wipes his feet before entering the ring. He is waiting for his grappling partner to return to the ring. His partner finally returns and they start sparring again. They go a few more rounds then they stop. Jace seems to be focusing now more on his career then ever before.
Jace:What do you think Mark, A few more rounds?
Mark:I guess so. Why all the extra training all of the sudden? I mean your charity work has gone to non existent over the last week. Your not at the office anymore. What's going on with you?
Jace:Well bro....What can I say ever since getting my head racked in and my nose broken. I've realized a few things. Being good at something doesn't make you the best does it? Last week I faced Sampson....I know I have more talent then he does, but he was the one to walk away while I was helped out of the building. I was a bit naive to think a one dimensional way of thinking would be all I needed. I thought all I had to do was out wrestle him but I was wrong. For the first time I wasn't out matched but I was out thunk. Sampson realized he couldn't pin me for a win. So he made sure he was going to be the one to walk away. I need to be better stronger and faster then everyone else. I won't stop until I am on top of the game, and leading the pack.
Mark takes a drink of his water and wipes his forhead.
Mark:I know last week was hard on you, but don't let that change who you are. Your a good kid and I'm glad to have you as my little brother. Grand-dad believed that helping others was a key to success. He wished for you to see that. That's why he asked you to help those in need and, make it your mission to see people are treated right around you.
Jace:I'm tired of helping people Mark. The last few years of my life that's all I've been doing. Don't get me wrong I've enjoyed it but I think it's time I started worrying about myself. Let's get back to work.
With Jace's last words they get back in the ring and continue to spar. The scene fades
The scene opens up this time. Jace is sitting in his office going threw some paper work. He looks up with a questionable look on his face, he lowers his head and goes back to reading. The phone rings and Jace ignores it, he continues to read The papers in front of him. His phone begins to ring again. This time he answers it.
Jace:Hello?.......Dad Jace sounding a little annoyedWhat can I do for you?.......Mark told you that huh?.......Yeah, well I'm going to take time away from the company and the charities........I know it was his last wish.......Yeah fine, I'll be at the opening but after that I'm taking time off.......Yeah, I got the file.......Yeah he seems like a descent competitor........No, I don't expect him to cheat. In fact With Mr. Carter I expect a fair match.......Yeah,well like I said I've learned my lesson. If he wants to cheat to win well I'm not going to let him.......Yeah, I know He is openly gay.......No, I'm not worried about it. Dad Listen you have to understand it's a different time now. People are who they are. Who are we to judge?.......I know I have read his file. I know his style and all his moves. He is going to have to pick it up a notch. He has nothing I can't get around. Jace Hangs up the phone with an irritated look on his face.
Jace:Why? Why? oh Why am I the one grandpa left in charge of the charities? I'm going to have to let Mark take over. I have my own goals. It's time I started worrying about myself. Oh, Well the opening of boy's and girls club will be the last for awhile
The scene Fades as Jace picks up the phone and starts to make a call
The scene opens up again this time in front of a building Where Jace is signing some paper work. For the opening of the new Boy's and Girl's club in L.A
Jace:There the paper work is signed The Club is now officially open. I want to take this time to welcome, all the kids who are looking for a place to be safe and have fun after school. This is a proud achievement We at Savage Media are delighted to be able to help the kids.
Jace opens the building doors allowing the kids inside. He takes a step back and walks down the side walk a bit.
JaceLondon Carter what can I say, I don't know much about you. You seem to be an honest competitor. I hope for your sake you are. I am tired of people taking advantage of situations and cheating to hurt others. Mr. CarterJace takes a deep breath and gathers his thoughts for a secondYou know I could take the easy route and blast you for being a gay wrestler, but I'm not. I could tell you no gay wrestler in history has every made it to the top, but I won't. Mr. Carter I can and will tell you this, regardless of your sexual orientation, sex, religion, or anything else I am not going to let you get in my way.Jace stops for a moment before he continuesI have no doubts in your supposed abilities. Jace:Now on to bigger and more important things. Rumors around the locker room say one Mr. Knoxville is considering my open invitation. Well to you Mr. Knoxville I say I welcome the challenge. I seen what you did to Buckson Gooch. How cowardly you were to attack him.Jace with a disgusted look on his faceIf you truly want to step in the ring with me Mr. Knoxville. What can I say then I hope you bring your A-game. I know you've been here quite some time. I look forward to adding your notch on my belt.
