Last week on Monday Night Overdrive APW held four qualifying matches to determine who would be participating in the elimination chamber at APW’S pay-per-view, One Night In hell. Dr. Matt, Tara Jacobs, Jason Ricochet and Link all won their matches gaining there entry into the hellacious structure. However; at the end of the night chaos would break out, in which President Jeff would make his presence with an announcement.
What happened next? The wrestling community didn’t see coming.
President Jeff announced a special guest referee for the match, his name is Level-One. Level-One has been known to most wrestling fans for his current run in the Extreme Wrestling Corporation (EwC) and is currently the World Heavyweight and Tag Team champion. Also; he holds a cross federation title, the True Experts Championship, after he won a 64 man bracket tournament, defeating Black Death the former expert’s champion, in the final round. A man with so much gold, some are asking, why exactly has he come to the APW?
We don’t know. Cameras from all media sources have tried to get in contact including us at APW.com, but Level-One and his camp has failed to issue any new statements regarding the matter. We dug a little deeper, and we believe that currently Level-One is still under contract of the EWC, and has not inked a deal with the APW as of now. Why President Jeff would bring a non-signed competitor to the APW, never less the main-event, is beyond anyone’s beliefs.
What we do know is that President Jeff has had a past with Level-One, as they were both signed to the same company (EwC) before the opening of APW. Still, countless sources tell us the two never made much contact, especially since Level-One wrestled on a completely different show, than the one President Jeff gm’ed. It’s still unclear what exactly are Level-Ones intentions, as he currently wrestles in active competition in the EWC.
What was just as shocking was the position President Jeff put Level-One in; a special referee. Staking claims that Level-One would do nothing but call it right down the middle, and despite Level-One’s past actions that would prove such a claim false, he has no history with any man in the match. With no gains nor losses, he may just do that. Or the rebel the EWC fans hate and know can be exposed for the world to see once more, and the fairness can be shown as squared as the ring the competitors are wrestling in.
Rumor has it that Level-One will be at the next live overdrive taping, in hopes of ‘’getting to know’’ his co-workers. We the reporters at APW hope we ‘’get to know’’ this man named Level-One, a bit more. A blessing or a death wish, only time will tell. We will get more on this story as it develops.
