Living on the streets of Juarez Diego de la Vega was forced to fend for himself as a child. It wasn’t until a priest by the name of Padre Francisco took him in as a boy that he first felt a love and adoration from another human being. Being raised in the church Diego took the word of God to heart but at the age of 14 fell in love with the world of lucha libre.
Seeing El Hijo Del Santo perform live in a local gymnasium had him hooked and being given a mask from the man gave him a purpose. Padre Fransisco nourished this dream getting him trained in the ways of lucha libre and helping him advance in his training. Throughout his young life Diego managed to escape the dangers of the city of Juarez until one run in with the cartels would change his life forever. Having become witness to a crime he was targeted by the cartels. Hiding within the church Padre Fransisco gave his life so that Diego could escape. He hid as he watched his mentor’s life leave his breath and watches his church and home burn to the ground.
Moving to the United States he went to its most well known city New York. There he made quick friends with Carlos Hernandez creating a best friend that helped him get acclimated to life in the United States and with his first apartment. Carlos would be the catalyst to introducing Diego to the most important person yet, the love of his life Maria Salazar.
With her as his girlfriend and manager he achieved success in just a few short months. Diego vaulted himself to the Apex Champion and a finalist in the Crucible Tournament that cemented Eddie Phoenix as his personal rival. His family grew as he was introduced into Buck Dempsey and both men hit it off splendidly together one acting as a son and the other his father. Suffering through a losing streak that spread across the efedding world Diego pulled himself out and became number one contender to the heavyweight championship challenging his rival Eddie Phoenix in numerous failed efforts. He also established himself during the Extreme Tournament 2012 as a man of principle and cementing a new friendship and respected rival in Adrien Specter.
In his second attempt to achieve gold Diego would be on the brink of capturing it only to watch as his girlfriend collapse at ringside. He would rush her back to the EMT’s where she urged him to fight for his dream and win the championship. By the time he returned to the ring the match had been decided and Maria had been declared dead on the way to the hospital.
Lost in grief Diego pulled himself away from all Code Red Wrestling dates in an attempt to distance himself. He returned for one last match against a man who had dominated him and insulted him at every turn in the menacing Brandon Garcia. In an interesting change of fate though the match never took place as Diego was offered one last chance at glory from his once hated rival Eddie Phoenix. In a match dedicated to the memory of his fallen love Diego achieved the impossible and won his first Code Red Wrestling Heavyweight Championship; only for it to be ripped from his hand minutes later by Brandon Garcia that years Crucible Winner.
Now Diego has returned a changed man. Gone are his morals. He has been stripped of everything that he used to be. He has become cold, calculating, and vicious. His return to CRW came under a ruse as he pretended to be EFK/CWC World Champion Doug E. Fresh. He attacked the World Champion and Owner of CRW and in his return match captured the World title from Rex Evans. Diego stopped at nothing to turn over every secret that Talon Wilkinson had. At Code REDemption II he defeated long time personal rival Eddie Phoenix to retain his World Championship Belt.
Although it never aired Diego successfully retained his World Championship at Rex Evans in what would be the final CRW Show never to be aired. Diego’s dreams have come true and the death of CRW has been realized. Thinking his journey was ever Diego had seperated himself from the world of wrestling till he received a vision of his lost love begging him to save the next her. Believing that wrestling organizations as a whole put innocent people at danger all to support ego's to make them heroes or villains Diego has made it his mission to bring every organization he visits down to the ground. What began with CRW, traveled through the Experts is now continuing in SCW.
Diego made his debut in Sin City Wrestling as a suprise tag team partner on Team Doug E Fresh in their battle with Team STS. Featuring such standouts as Paradox McSweeney, Doug E Fresh, Adrien Specter, Soul of Philly TJ, Willow Winters and many many more Diego was the winning Sole Survivor. While his mission has not been made clear or his target the end result has never been in question. The end of wrestling.
