Over 12 years experience in the game. The creator of APW & Survive and Conquer. Has judged every Survive and Conquer match

~Biggs~

Has been Judging Survive and Conquer for the past 4 years. Has also written and helpped write Survive and Conquer in the past. President Jeff’s right hand man in APW.

~Johnny Rebel~

Has competed in Survive and Conquer in the past. Has become part of the APW staff team last year in Gming his own show. Johnny currently co owns PURE Wrestling.

~Terry Marvin~

Has competed in Survive and Conquer in the past. Three years ago being a runner up. Two years ago entering at #2 and lasting till the final 10. And won the event last year.

~Alex Black~

Has helped judge Survive and Conquer in the past.


Here is how Judging will work.


Biggs and Terry Marvin will be Judging Group 1 and Group 2.
President Jeff and Alex Black will Judge Group 3 and Group 4.

If 2 different winners are chosen in a group, then Johnny Rebel will be the tie breaking vote.

Once a final 4 is decided, all 5 judges will vote.

For the undercard matches, Johnny Rebel and President Jeff will be judging those matches.

But seriously... I've been judging and staffing on efeds for as long as I can remember. I currently staff at Phoenix and Sin City Wrestling and I'm looking forward to judging Survive and Conquer having participated the last three years.

I'm more than happy to answer any questions about my judging style / what I look for in a rp and whatnot.

But to sum it up, I'm looking for something that holds my attention, that sells me on your character and tells me why you want to win. I'm looking for something I haven't read a hundred times before. I realize that's kinda vague, but it is what it is.

Hi everybody!

As you can tell by my screen name to the left, I am Biggs. Been a part of APW since mid-2009.

In terms of what I look for as a judge, creativity is king. If I get bored with your RP and start skimming it, it won't help your chances. Also, I look for you to sell your character and the match. Normally, I'd be looking at how you sell your opponents, but with fields this large, that is unreasonable. I do tend to give a bit more weight to the trash talk than the character development part, but not by much. That being said, all other things equal between two RPs, if one has better CD and the other has better trash, I'll go with the trash talk every time.

Also, I'm a wee-bit of a grammar Nazi, so for example, if you use the your when you should use you're, or vise versa, that's going to be a deciding point in close RPs.

Finally, I always love cheap shout outs to stuff like Star Wars and Doctor Who, but only if it makes sense within the context of the RP. Admittedly, this plays an extremely small role in my judging, but then again, all other things equal, I'll show some favoritism to the guy who correctly throws in a reference to something geeky. That being said, a gratuitous reference for the sake of buttering up the judge will dock you.

Anywho, Terry and I have worked together for a few years, so we both kind of know what each other is looking for in an RP. I can assure you that there will be no funny business, like me thinking somebody is #1, while Terry thinks they're #20 in their respective group. We know good RPs when we see them.

Sorry about the late reply lost net a few days ago, but I'm back and ready to do this thing. My name is actually Terry as well but to save from confusion I'll just go by Alex or Al or Tezmission like I do over on EFK. Like Jeff said I helped judge the match last year, and I organized the T Act Cup over on Wrestleboum last year. So hopefully I will do everyone justice and do my best to make sure the best person wins.

Honestly I don't know, there is no longer a Wrestleboum, and the whole thing is Shawny's deal, and I've not talked to him in a couple months.

Can I just point out to the Judges now that the dialog in my RPs is written mostly in Scots Slang, I feel writing it like that makes it easier for people to read it and hear the Scottish Accent in their head. I have toned it back over the years so hopefully it can be understood. I will you things like A instead of I. Use Aye instead of Yes. Drop the g off the end of anything ending ing, etc.

Can what are the restrictions on swearing? I know some places don't like it but have you ever met a Scotsman who doesn't swear in every sentence. haha, It isn't that much honestly but still good to know where you stand on it.

Funny thing is that I got the same idea too for both of my RP's to have more German words and accent than my original stuff due to the location.

When APW was around, you could swear as long it's not filled up with just swear words.
