Carnage Recap
APW Carnage came off as a great PPV last weekend. The opening match, we saw Link and BDC defeat the APW Tag Team Champs, Streets Wilson and Rick Stevens by DQ. Streets got his team disqualified on purpose to retain the tag titles. After the match, General Manager Max Carter confronted the team on their actions and stripped them of the Tag Titles. Max’s thoughts on the matter is “If they can’t defend the titles fairly, then why be a champion.”
Our second match saw Fyre Angel take on Dakota. The match ended in a draw with both competitors pinning each other. To everyone’s surprise, President Jeff made an appearance after the match, to what we thought was to shed some light on who won this match, but Jeff had other plans as he attacked both competitors, and hitting the Eye of the Hurricane on Fyre Angel. Jeff would then take the microphone and talk about his mystery attacker from Christmas Chaos back in December. Jeff would go on to say that he’s tired of waiting on investigators to find his attacker and that this Monday on Overdrive, he will find his attacker himself.
The semi main event fetured the final two competitors of last months Survive and Conquer match. Level One and John Green. A match that pushed both men to the limit and saw some near falls, in the end, just like at New Years Retribution, Level One came out on top.
The main event was full of excitement and Carnage. The match was War Games. Earlier in the Night, we saw Carl Cage get taken out by Level One. Level One would put himself in this match, just so get could get his hands on his Rasslemania opponent, APW World Champion, Michael Lively. So the match became Michael Lively, Twister, The Hardcore Kid and Dr. Matt Vs Jason Royce, Streets Wilson, Rick Stevens and Level One. These 8 wrestlers destroyed one another. We saw Lively hit his Lions Bite off the top rope. Jason Royce put Twister through the commentators table with a 450 splash from the top of the cage. And also Michael Lively hit the Prelude off the top of the cage as well. But in the end, Level One, Jason Royce, Streets Wilson and Rick Stevens we’re all put in a submission hold and Streets and Rick both tapped out for their team.
Overdrive Preview
The Road to Rasslemania begins with a stop in Milwaukee, Wisconsin with 6 matches set to take place.
JC Styles makes his APW Debut taking on Fyre Angel. Fyre has been off her game as of late, but this is her chance to bounce back. And not much is known from JC, but a win for him would make for a great start for his APW career, and with Rasslemania coming up, that’s not a bad thing.
In a non title bout, Carl Cage will be taking on BDC. Carl was a little banged up from Level One’s attack at Carnage, but he’ll be good to go to fight the monster BDC. BDC is looking to get back to his old self, working on the ring rust. We hope to see just who is APW’s biggest monster
Due to costing his team the War Games match, Streets Wilson will battle an upset Jason Royce. A win here for Royce could put him in a good spot at Rasslemania. Streets Wilson will be retiring after this match, and it be interesting to see if Streets can ruin any of Jason’s Rasslemania plans before retiring.
Dr. Matt makes his singles wrestling return on Overdrive going up against Link. Matt hasn’t had a singles match since the first Overdrive show of 2009. defeating Streets Wilson. Link and Dr. Matt last fought on Tuesday Night Meltdown back in November where we saw Link pull out the victory. Will the result be the same this time around, or can Dr. Matt get back to his old ways of winning?
Level One will take on Rick Stevens in a match, much like the Royce/Wilson match, Level One is looking to destroy his War Games partner for costing them the match. With Level One on his way to Rasslemania, one can assume that Level One will not be holding back on Rick. But with Rick having a huge win over BDC a few weeks ago, Level One may have his hands full more than he thinks.
Our Main event will future the APW World Champion, Michael Lively taking on the first ever APW World Champion, John Green. In a rematch from 2 weeks ago which saw Michael Lively defeat John Green, Green is looking for some pay back this time around. A win over the World Champ would be huge for him. But with Michael Lively headlining Rasslemania, we can expect Lively to come at Green harder than last time
Also, President Jeff claims he will find out who his attack is and also Twister and The Hardcore Kid are both set to make an appearance. Rumor has it that a special announcement will be made in regards to Rasslemania 5 and also, expect the Rasslemania card to start shaping up.
