The Road to Rasslemania continues
APW Overdrive made a stop in Milwaukee Wisconsin for a special Tuesday edition of the show this past week. And coming out of it, Rasslemania V is showing to be the best Rasslemania yet.
As we already know, Miochael Lively and Level One will be main eventing Rasslemania 5. Lively, the World Champion, won the title at New Years Retribution in January, and Level One who won the Survive and Conquer match at New Years Retribution in the Survive and Conquer match to guarantee his title shot at the event. On Overdrive, we saw a confrontation between these two. After Lively feel defeat to John Green, Level One came out to rub it in. All this lead to the two brawling it out around the ring. Lively’s head hit the ring post to get busted up. And Level One head hit the corner of the steel steps, causing him to get open up. Eventually officials and road agents broke these two up, but one thing for sure is that things are really heating up and fast between these two
Jason Royce defeated Streets Wilson this past week, and after the match, Jason Royce called out his former tag team partner, The Xtreme Champion, The Hardcore Kid. These two fought at Last Year Years Rasslemania with Royce picking up the win. And these two found a way to put their differences aside and became 2 time APW Tag Team Champions, before The Hardcore Kid dumped Royce to focus on his singles career. But Jason Called the Kid out and talked about having a Rasslemania Moment for their career. The Hardcore Kid would accept the challenge, but counter the challenge by making it a Hardcore In Hell match. A Match that hasn’t been seen in APW for over a year.
We also saw Dr. Matt in a quick interview with Cindy Shannon, talking about Rasslemania V and its importance. Dr. Matt is one of two men who has taken part in every Rasslemania. Dr. Matt doesn’t want to miss this event, so he throws out an open challenge to any who wants to fight him at the biggest stage of them all. We expect his challenge to be answered on the upcoming Overdrive.
Last Demenber, at Christmas Chaos, President Jeff was found knocked unconscious in his office. For the next two months, investigators worked hard to find who was responsible. Evidence was found and a Crowbar with Jeff’s blood DNA was found on it, making it the weapon of choice for the attacker. But, with Jeff not being a patience man, decided to do some investigating of his own. Jeff appeared on Overdrive and allowed the attacker to reveal himself. What happened next shocked the world when the Lights turned out and when they came back on, Jeff was knocked out and standing in the ring with the crowbar, was Twister. One can only assume that these two will fight at Rasslemania.
Rumor has it that Rasslemania 5 could have as many as 8 matches on the card. So keep watching Overdrive to find out who else will be fighting.
Overdrive moves to a new day
It was reported this week this Monday Night Overdrive is no more. Instead, Overdrive will be moving to Wednesday Night as Wednesday Night Overdrive. The decision was made Tuesday afternoon at a meeting with APW staff. We caught up with President Jeff for a comment on the change; “We feel that this change is best for the company to move forward. This decision didn’t just come overnight. We been discussing it for months now, and now is the right time, especially, heading towards Rasslemania.”
Jeff also had to say about Pay Per Views. “Most Pay Per Views will be moved from Sunday’s to Wednesdays as well, maybe Thursdays, we’re still discussing this. Pay Per Views where we have a week off to get ready for it, will remain on Sundays. Pay Per Views with no breaks between shows, will be on Wednesday or Thursdays.”
APW All of Fame debuting at Rasslemania
More history will be made at Rasslemania with the debut of its Hall of Fame. A surprise video was shown on Overdrive, inducting its very first member, Matt Metal.
Wrestling Legend, Matt Metal, who was widely known for his career in CWF and WWC, has been inducted into the APW Hall of Fame. Matt Metal first started his career in 2003 in CWF where he won the Xtreme Title and became a 5 time CWF World Champion. Metal would then move to WWC where he became a world champion there as well before retiring. Metal would then show his face again APW when APW President Jeff contacted Metal to return to the ring. Metal's time in APW didn't last long, but the memories he created have not be forgotten.
The announcement of Matt Metal's induction took place on this past Tuesday on APW Overdrive. Rumor has it that 2 more wrestlers are to be inducted into the APW Hall of Fame, which is all part of APW's biggest event of the year, Rasslemania 5. Expect the next induction announcement to take place this Wednesday on Overdrive, and the 3rd induction announcement on the Overdrive after that one.

Max Carter not at Overdrive?
Max Carter was not at Overdrive this past week, due to suffering a nasty flu. Max caught the flu last weekend, and was in bed since Tuesday. President Jeff gave Max a week off to recover. Max’s healthy looks to be near 100% and will be ready for Overdrive this Wednesday.
APW Signs 3 big names
APW Signed 3 big names this week. All 3 are established wrestlers. Slade Craven and Shadow, known as the Ass Kicker Anonymous, will make their in ring debut on Overdrive with Slade taking on another new comer, Mihalis Hellas and Shadow taking on JC Styles. They other big named signed is Assassin. Assassin, who once associated himself with the AKA, will make his in ring debut soon. Will Slade, Shadow and Assassin be a new dominate group in APW, we’ll have to wait and see.
