Cid "Pax" Phoenix, an indy wrestler who was slated to join the fed sometime early 2010, has spoken about possibly re-negotiating and joining as a full-time active member of the roster. As such, rumours that Phoenix and one other superstar have been talking about becoming free agents, was later confirmed in the Wrestling Insider today. In a recent interview, Phoenix says:
"There were legal issues which prevented me from joining. I really was hoping to join the fed. After years of remaining in my old fed, I think the time has come for me to make a move to "greener pastures".
The news comes as no shock to fans everywhere. Sources close to the superstar have reported that Phoenix has not been particularly pleased with his current status in the wrestling world, citing himself as "being held back" and "wanting to start anew." An online poll as to the level of excitement concerning the superstar's free agency turned up positive results, despite his rankings in the wrestling world. When asked how they felt about his possible involvement with the APW, several fans had this to say...
"I think it's about time that he's free. I mean, it's true that he's been held back, and all. I saw a few of his last performances where he was before being a free agent, and he looked as if he didn't even wanna be there."
When asked about the particulars of his free agency, Phoenix only had this to say..
"I'm not gonna harp on where I came from. That's not my style. It's no secret that I'm looking for a new home and I think quite honestly, that the APW could be that home. I'm 4 years into my career and I just feel that a change of scenery could be just the thing I need to bounce back and show that I can be all that the fans want me to be."
