[OOC: Not sure where else to post this - just a sample from years, YEARS, ago. I haven't been active in an e-fed in more than 5-6 years and a recent "gathering" of friends from a league recently has peaked my interest again. App. is posted in forum. Hope to hear back soon...]

[The scene opens to a press conference at a hotel in Chicago, IL. The reporters have been waiting for about twenty minutes for the arrival of the guest. A black limo pulls up to the front door of the hotel. The driver opens the door and out of the limo comes Johnny Rebel along with his wife, Mallory. Johnny wears khaki pants, and an orange and blue striped knit shirt. The XBWL International Title is draped over his left shoulder. Mallory is wearing a navy blue skirt and white top. Rebel holds his wife's hand as they make their way to the podium. The fans in attendance applaud their hometown hero as he helps his wife to her seat and then approaches the microphone.]
Rebel: I thank you all for coming. I want to start this off by saying that I have been in the XBWL several years and I have seen my share of great matches and great moments. I've had the pleasure of wrestling some of the greats of the XBWL like Demander Coleman, Hawk Henshaw, The Belgian Sensation, Michael Andrews, and the current XBWL World Heavyweight Champion, Flyguy Ragnarok TS. However, there is one man in the XBWL that I'm growing very sick of, and that man is my former friend and tag team partner, Matt Austin. I grow very sick of his attitude towards me, and I grow very sick of how he immaturely turns everything around so he can save face. Matt, I know you're watching this right now, and I know the minute I’m done, you're going to cut your own interview and call me a bitch, a whore, a liar, and a million other things. That is what I am especially sick of. You claim that you should be the next XBWL Champion, but how could someone let you be the pinnacle of wrestling when you can't even be a role model to your young fans? Matt, you came out last night and accepted my challenge. That's fine. I think it's rather humorous how you jump at an opportunity to make me look bad. Matt, I've had a lot more experience in wrestling than you have. Despite what you constantly say, I am more experienced. I know more about this sport that you, and I know when it's time to go for broke. Matt, I will accept your offer for a TITLE v/s TITLE match this weekend ... with one stipulation. I don't care who signs the match ... if it's Payne, Malone, or AA. I want this next statement in the contract. If I do not walk out of that arena as BOTH the XBWL International and Hardcore Champion, I will leave the XBWL FOREVER...
[The press and fans are in shock.]
Rebel: and just to sweeten the pot up a little. Matt is going to be able to pick the type of match we have. I'm sure he's going to want a hardcore style, since he's defending his title as well, so I'm saying right now that he can have whatever he wants. I'm getting sick of hearing that kid talk his crap every day of the week. He talks as if I'm not good enough to even be in the ring with him. It's funny how things can change. I remember when Matt was running around with me; and the rest of the guys back in High School. Matt has come out here and said that he felt sorry for us. He claims that we were "outcasts" in school. Well, none of that is true. Matt, Justin, Shawn,
Ashley, Jessica, Mallory, and myself were probably the most popular people in Tumwater High School. Matt, you remember when you were voted "Most Athletic" in school? Yeah, you were the better football player. That's probably because you wanted to make a career out of that. Yeah, we ran the ball a Hell of a lot. That's why you were the star. That's why you had a 2000 yard season. I'm not saying I was the star, but you have failed to mention that even though I was a quarterback, our team DID run a Triple Option offense. Yeah, you had 2000 yards in rushing, but did you forget that I had 1000? Oh, I forgot. I'm lying, aren't I? I'm making all this up, aren't I? I remember when Matt and I wrestled back in the FWA. I remember how pumped up Matt used to get before a match. I remember the night we won the right to be the number one contenders to the FWA Tag Team Titles. I have never seen anyone that excited in my life. He had the passion of a little child then. He was so vibrant, and he and I were impossible to defeat. Things went bad. I'm not saying it was all his fault. We were both at fault. I left Japan without telling him because of numerous reasons. The FWA was wanting to split us up and have us feud with each other. Back then, Matt was like my little brother. I knew in my heart I couldn't face him. I loved that 18 year old kid too much. He wanted that match more than anything. I left the FWA without notice ... not because I was running from him. It was because I knew that one match between us would ruin or friendship forever. He came to the XBWL in late 1998. His first target besides the North American title was me. He was angry because I left him hanging in Japan and he wanted revenge. I tried many times to try to patch things up with him, but the guy I once knew as a caring, compassionate and understanding person was replaced with a very cold shell of his former self. Ever since the day he defeated me for the XBWL International Championship, he has refused to allow me to live it down. He apparently wants me to be cursed with the fact that he beat me. That's why I've come to my decision. If I do not defeat him, I'll leave. It's as simple as that. Matt, I once had more respect for you that you could imagine. Now, you're a total embarrassment. Sometimes I wish I would have never met you. You've been trying to ruin my career since I lost to you. Well, this weekend, if you beat me, you get your wish. You beat me, I'm gone. However, I'm putting my life on the line here, so don't think for a second that I'm not going to come at you with everything I've got. Matt, if I have any say so about it, if you can somehow beat me again, you're going to know that you were in a war. This may be my last weekend in the XBWL. If it is, I plan on my last match to be the most intense thing my fans have ever seen. Matt, if you beat me, you'll win the war. However, if you make just one small mistake, you're going to be yet another victim of assault with The Perfect Weapon. Matt, you better shine that Hardcore Title belt up really good, because after this weekend it's going to be mine. You are NOT going to get rid of me as easily as you think! I've got just seven simple words to close with.... WHAT AM I GOING TO DO NEXT?
[Rebel begins to field questions from the press. As the scene fades out, we see Johnny reach over and grab the hand of his wife.]
