LA Noire Mafia Day 7 10:30 PMHerschel Biggs, with the remaining members of the LAPD Task Force in the seats behind him, pulls up to what appears to be an apartment building. Herschel Biggs: You sure this is the place? Courtney Sheldon: I had some old war buddies tail him back here. Must be his apartment. Jack Kelso: Hope everyone’s got their weapon ready. After all the murder’s this guy has arranged for today, he’s not just going to let us waltz in and take him. He’ll have bodyguards. Stefan Bekowsky: Yeah, but they’re cops, right? So shouldn’t they stand down when they know what we know? Rusty Galloway: It’s because they’re cops that they won’t stand down. Cops can be bought, numbskull. You can bet that their paycheck is more important than actual justice. Leonard Peterson: Well, I don’t have much experience with a gun, but I’ll be there behind you. We can take this guy! Herschel Biggs: We’re all that’s left to take him down…so let’s get started gentlemen. - - - Officer: They’re outside. How would you like us to proceed? A man sitting behind a chair looks out his window, seeing the cars below him. He looks at his wall, where numerous photos of cops are strung up. Next to them is a photo of himself, Dr. Harlan Fontaine, and Leland Monroe. He sighs to himself. ?: Kill them all. - - - The LAPD Task Force exits the cars…and suddenly, a shot is heard! The men all duck, but one man goes down permnanently! Dead: Bailey/Jack Kelso – Town JournalistGuns peak through the windows of the buildings, and begin to fire down on the remainders of the Task Force! Herschel Biggs: Take cover everyone! We’re in a fire-fight! *Day 7 has ended, and Night 7 has begun. Night 7 will end at 7 PM EST on March 21st (24 hours)*

LA Noire Mafia Night 7 Herschel Biggs: Move forward! I’ll give you some cover! Herschel Biggs pops off some shots, and the LAPD Task Force begins to move forward. However, Stefan Bekowsky gets a little too eager…and moves too closely, getting a bullet through the shoulder! He goes down! Rusty Galloway: Bekowsky is down! Courtney Sheldon: I’ll get him! Courtney Sheldon braves the gunfire to run towards a downed Stefan Bekowsky. He gets to him…but an officer moves in, and puts a gun to his head! Officer: Sorry kid. This is- *POW*The officer goes down…and Leonard Peterson grins as he pulls his gun back! Rusty Galloway: I thought you couldn’t shoot very well! Leonard Peterson: I guess I can! Herschel Biggs: They’re letting up! It’s time to move in! The LAPD Task Force moves towards the door, finally entering the apartment… *Night 7 has ended, and Day 8 has begun…*

Sally, who did you use your night ability on last night?

Atken.
What reading did I get?

Rebel checks out.
I think it would be best for us to lay out the information we have.
Jeff - When I checked him, he came back paranoid cop. Rebel - I journalised him last night and he was investigating.

Also here's a thing.
We didn't have a kill. We don't have a roleblocker no more. We never seem to have had a doc. So...
How'd that happen?

I'll lay out my info:
I night actioned Atken last night. My alignment will have changed to his as soon as I did this, so whatever reading anyone may have got on me then is a reading on Atken.
And, based on the night's results after my visit to him, I'd say the mafia targeted Atken to kill. Unless Atken is the scum, but that would be crazy.
Can someone help me out though is figuring if this role exists: A person's starting PM tells them they are town, but are really scum. They have no real way of finding out themselves, but the other townies can figure it out?
I only ask because of the '?' being used for the scum's name. Noble is so meticulous about his write-ups that I'm wondering if the boss-boss scum is actually one of us and the reason he isn't saying the name is because, well, saying the name would alert that person that they're scum...if that kind of role exists.

I took a look at Atken last night (just to be sure). I didn't find anything of interest. I'll lay out my info: I night actioned Atken last night. And, based on the night's results after my visit to him, I'd say the mafia targeted Atken to kill. Unless Atken is the scum, but that would be crazy. This is a reasonable thought. I've taken a look at my role description again and I see nothing that hints at this possibility. It states clearly I'm town. The only thing I would say against this though is that whoever the remaining scum, they used their night kill on Tmarv so they must know they are scum.

So what can we go on guys? None of us know anything more than what we did before Bailey. And at least with Bailey, we had someone suspect. Now? Now I don't think anyone is hot on anyone are they?
Atkens knows Jeff is the paranoid cop. Farq knows Atken is town. Kaji seems to be town, based on his past town night actions. I'm town. Rebel has been accused and we've agreed he's town. Farq was assumed town a long time ago.
Ugh. Brain needs to kick into gear!

Well clearly someone's lying.
"DUH KAJI IT'S A MAFIA GAME THAT'S THERE JOB--"
Piss off, inner monologue. I'm busy.
Okay, so the two main red flags I see are Atken's magical chain-ability of drifting from person to person and using their ability, which is just weird, and Jeff's paranoid cop...except he didn't really claim it, Atken pinned it on him, and Atken's led pretty much every lynch on a scum with his super duper role...
I think we can toss our past night results out the window at this point. We might be down to the point where we must simply rely on our wits, because everyone seems town to everybody else, but if that were true, the game would be over.

A total stab in the dark, based on my gut feeling
Vote: Kaji
Reason, I feel Kaji that, even though Kaji took part in all the scum lynches, I think it was to make everyone think he is town. Also, Kaji hasn't 100% been confirmed as town.
Phil, Its obvious that he's town, he's been leading this game for us.
Rebel, Farq cleared him, and also when CJ was quick to cast a vote on him that one day and he came out scum, that cleared Rebel for me.
Farq, He's been cleared as town
Sally, seems town, which isn't 100% confirmed, but with Level One going at her that one day, I think its safe to say she's town
And myself, I'm a paranoid cop according to Atkens (Which I'm pretty sure I am cause everyone I investigate has come out guilty) which is a town role
Thats my reasoning guys, if we have anything else to go on, I'll change my vote, but we need to lynch someone

You know what? I don't blame you for that vote at all.
It's wrong, but I can see how you are coming to that conclusion.
Since you're going with a gut feeling, here's my gut feeling.
Vote: Sally
My gut is lurching back and forth between Atken and Sally.
Atken has masterminded pretty much every scum lynch, but remember: all members of a faction win when the faction wins. While unusual, it is conceivable that Atken has been appointed as the "Scum Townie" to feed the rest of the scum to the town and then put his head down and let the townies lynch each other. It is also conceivable that he is a usurper or something where his win condition is if he's the only mafioso left.
The same could be same with Sally, though if she is the last, that would be a more typical play of just laying low and blending in with less of the aggressively assaulting fellow mafioso. The reason I'm voting for Sally is that her ability of obscuring someone else's alignment and sort of absorbing the alignment of her night target is much fishier than Atken's play.
I end this post the way I began, agreeing with Jeff: we do need to lynch someone. If not, (Insert whoever the last mafioso is) will just pick us off one by one.

Day 8 will end at 7 PM EST on March 24th (48 hours). With 6 alive, you need 4 votes for a lynch.
*Mod Note: I will be leaving tomorrow morning at 10 AM EST, and will be unavailable to do anything more than call a possible lynch (meaning no write-up since I'll only have my Kindle). If a lynch occurs before I return (about 5 hours before the deadline), I will leave it up to you all if you'd like to wait for a write-up or just have me proceed with the game. Please let me know which you prefer in your next post. Remember that if the votes reach the number for a lynch, that lynch is finalized and cannot be undone with unvoting, regardless if I'm around to call it or not..*

I understand where Jeff and Kaji are coming from, but right now I'm going to refrain from putting down a vote. There are 2-3 individuals I'm unsure of more than others, but atm I'm taking a watching brief. The way I see there is still plenty of time in this day phase, and we do still heavily outnumber the scum among us. There is no need to panic just yet.
p.s. Kurt, do what you got to do brother.

I'm generally at a loss on where to go from where. I was confident that Bailey was scum and now we're back at square one without an idea on where to go.
My role was severely nerfed when Bacon was modkilled way back during the first day phase. I can tell you that our roles were connected and when used together were way more powerful. I did receive an innocent verdict on someone but I'm going to hold off on announcing who until more information comes out. I know there are some powerful roles left in the game... much more so than mine.
In terms of suspicion, this is my list:
1. Atken 2. Kaji 3. Farq 4. Sally 5. Jeff
