Maybe WWE should re-think replacing Punk with The Rock as champion. You know your booking is bad when getting shot in the eye, as your own store is getting robbed isn't as upsetting as Punk losing the belt.

Taking the title off'a CM Punk is like boycotting "Donkey Punch" Energy Drink from the shelves, it's just pointless! ;D

CM Punk coming out and saying the exact thing every single week for 400 days, except just a different number... Its pretty sad that THAT'S "the best thing going". What does CM Punk actually do anyway except little pussy version's of every single one of Kenta's moves.. The Rock will draw them more money. It's quite simple. That's something I can understand. They want more PPV buys, and obviously The Rock will get them that. They could do it every single year it'd still eternally make more money than anything CM Punk would be involved in.

Maybe WWE should re-think replacing Punk with The Rock as champion. You know your booking is bad when getting shot in the eye, as your own store is getting robbed isn't as upsetting as Punk losing the belt. Yea, it's like you know the NFL is bad when getting shot in the eye as your own store is getting robbed isn't as upsetting as the eagles lose. You may not be American but you get the idea, the guy is a fan of Punk and wants Punk to win every match, regardless if its possible. He was upset with the result much like any fan of any competition sport would be. The booking isn't bad if it makes perfect business sense. The booking isn't bad. It makes sense. You don't like the result and you say it's the booking's problem. Bad booking is having the NXT rookie that just entered the royal rumble with zero fan fare beating your IC champion with little build to the match. THAT'S bad booking. They should have made a big deal about him in the royal rumble, they didn't make one damn comment until he eliminated Barrett. Then the next night, nothing. He's a rookie who won his way into the Royal Rumble had a great showing and nothing gets talked about that. Bo Dallas, while funny looking, is a great talent and can connect to the audience, so why not take a key out of the other major sports and when a rookie does extremely well, talk them up. Russel Wilson of the Seattle Seahawks is a perfect example. He started playing great and everyone was talking about him. RG3, same thing, even Colin Kaepernick of the Niners is talked about because he's a young man playing against full grown men and beating them. THat's bad booking, Rock over Punk isn't.

Somewhere the teenage Knuckles is shooting a BB gun into your dick. Let's see, what about that comment is the reason why The Rock won? TEENAGE! TEENAGE! THE ALWAYS LOW TEENAGE MALE DEMOGRAPHIC! First off, Cena isn't a shit wrestler just because of his underselling. Let's see Cena had a good match with Batista at WM26 and a good match with the Great Khali. good match and Great Khali aren't ever spoken outside of that together. Second, this is what Keaton gets and others don't. If you want to watch WRESTLING as a sport, go find it on the internet. It's been a loooooooooooooooooong time since WWE has been a wrestling company. Example, Daniel Bryan one of the best in the world, is a comedy guy now. He is apart of a comedy team. He was in the rumble not as a participant but as a spot worker for one of the most awkwardly looking comedy spots in years. WWE is story first, wrestling second, but more importantly, they are money first, entertainment second. As long as they are making money, they don't care, which is true of many business out there. As long as they make money, nothing will change. If it ain't broke don't fix it. WWE is still making money, and it's not 1997 anymore, Wrestling isn't cool anymore. But you know who was there in 97 when it was Rock. To the teenage male and young adult males, WWE is cool because Rock is the champion which means he'll be on TV which means they'll tune in. They don't follow like we do, they don't know that he's not gonna be around much after WM. They don't know that he's won't be at house shows. They know he'll be on RAW. They know he'll be on Elimination Chamber, and they'll know when it's announced that he'll be at Wrestlemania. And maybe, if Raw is in there town, they'll by a ticket and maybe a cool new Rock shirt. And as far as his overselling goes, when you saw him take a stunner you didn't think "DAMN HE'S OVERSELLING" no you thought "HOLY SHIT! AUSTIN PUT ALOT INTO THAT STUNNER" or "HOLY SHIT! ROCK JUST GOT STUNNED" I'll agree that I was upset Punk lost, but I understand it and don't bitch about it because no amount of bitching will change the fact taht Punk isn't a draw like the Rock.

They want to sell more tickets. They want more viewers. They'll get that with The Rock. End of discussion. If you want to talk about his in ring work... that's not what this conversation is about.

Let's see, what about that comment is the reason why The Rock won? TEENAGE! TEENAGE! THE ALWAYS LOW TEENAGE MALE DEMOGRAPHIC! I don't know if I'd say it ups teenage males, and if it does, there's a chance they might only be tuning in because he's a movie star. Hell, if I told my girlfriend that he was back in WWE, she might tune in. But teenage male seems a stretch, if only because he was last in WWE (before his comeback) 6 years before he returned. So the only way teenage males are upping their interest right now, is if they were anywhere from 6-13 when The Rock was last around, and even then, I'm assuming that those 17-19 year olds aren't that interested in The Rock or WWE right now anyways. Some of the younger kids, maybe, since it might harken back to times when them and their parents would watch WWE. I'd say it more just ups overall mainstream audience (the whole movie star thing) and females. But that's the WWE's point, isn't it? Sure, to people like us, the booking looks like shit. I said it in the Rumble thread, what happened leaves me less than stoked for Wrestlemania. Less than that even. But you get the point. Financially, it's the best thing WWE can do. Especially when you think that there will be fans (maybe like the above guy who shot himself) who want to see if Punk can gain redemption, and will tune in to see if he gets it leading up to Wrestlemania. And you KNOW that somethings going to go down at some point, because The Rock seems too preoccupied with other commitments to stay in the WWE on a regular schedule, or at least a schedule that would permit him being the WWE champion.

They want more PPV buys, and obviously The Rock will get them that. They could do it every single year it'd still eternally make more money than anything CM Punk would be involved in. From a business spectrum that is all wrong. The Rock will draw in a certain quantity of mainstream and cinematic fans. But even then, not a lot. He isn't held in high regard in the movie-fan community. Nor is he a major or influential actor to even the mainstream crowd. He works as a film draw BECAUSE of his wrestling fame. He draws in that crowd. The effect wont work as good when he switches back to wrestling, because a large portion of his acting fans are his old wrestling fans, who likely still watch anyway. Punk on the other-hand, is akin to Daniel Bryan & TNA's Austin Aries. They are all MAJOR draws on the indy circuit. Even hailed as some of the all time best. They all draw the attention of the international indy fanbase. Comparing these two, I feel they might balance out, or meet quite closely. In regards to Punk's lesser version of Kenta's move, looking back on the past is ALL you have to do. Punk always wrestled Hard-Style near the later half of his ROH career. This was around the time that ROH also started doing interpromotional work with some of Japans bigger companies. Kenta has made quite a few appearances within the ROH company. When Punk came to "ECW" (WWE), he strictly wreslted as he did on the indy circuit. He got in a LOT of trouble for that. Older wreslters discouraged him from continuing it. When he refused, his win streak was cut. He went on a slight protest to this, by putting in zero effort at house shows. I thought it was rubbish internet rumours until I saw Punk at a Smackdown/ECW househsow during the period. In order to maintain his right to do these hard-style-esque moves, he had to water them down... r as you said, "Pussy Kenta moves". Punk's easily one of the biggest (if not the biggest) heels in the company, because he can draw great heat. He is charasmatic. And he can act like a wonderful egotist. The Rock is a very busy man, like CJ said. I think even regular and casual viewers alike, are tired of seeing Cena in THE spotlight all the time. I have a strong feeling Punk will either get sent to the WHC scene, or put back into the WWE title picture. Just my 2 cents. But hey, I don't really watch anymore.

I think too many people try and verbally do the job of Vince McMahon far too often these days. Opinions vary and if you get the job to run the Show then who knows but until that it's all opinion and I'm sure the people they have hired that earned degrees or achievements doing that line of work have things handled. Vince approves.

I can't say I enjoy wrestling as much as I enjoy role playing but I saw a lot of anger from the IWC about the decision to move the title off of Punk and I see it like this...
430+ days as the WWE Champion. CM Punk. A relatively small guy with a huge independent/smark following which Vince notoriously dislikes... 430+ days. Is that seriously not good enough? THE LONGEST REIGN OF THIS GENERATION IS NOT GOOD ENOUGH FOR THE INTERNET!!! And he didn't lose it to Cena or a still new Ryback... he lost to the Rock. I get that the booking is unnecessary and COULD have been saved for 'Mania to put over Ryback or even Ziggler but on paper Punk looks like a beast and has set the bar for the modern generation.
And as people said... The Rock draws that mainstream crowd that WWE has marketed their product to for the past few years. The only reason Punk was allowed to have the title going into Mania last year was
1) his opponent was Jericho, someone the mainstream audience knows and loves
2) he went on before Cena/Rock which was fresh the first time and didn't need anything extra. Besides the title, what else could they possibly use to raise the stakes this time? Retirement? Cena had like 2 retirement angles that didn't materialize. And "firing" Rock isn't feasible. Cell? Overdone. Cage? Rock would risk injury.
Some people would kill their moms for a chance to lose to the Rock. ;D

A whole of typing but it's as simple as this... The rock = more ratings = more PPV sales = more money.
However, it's all for short term gains and profit. So, you can put The rock over CM Punk... but when The Rock leaves, the viewer now knows the next time CM Punk holds the title, he isn't nor was ever as good as The Rock. He is second rate to both the casuals and even The Rock diehards.
You know what would have been big? CM Punk BEATING The Rock clean at Wrestlemania...
John Cena is already well established. Maybe not as big as The Rock in that era but as far as the PG era is concerned? He's already the biggest draw. People who know very little or next to nothing about wrestling - and couldn't tell it apart from the UFC - know who he is.

I think what needs to be said here is that any Punk fan SHOULD be more than satisfied by the reign he has. I agree, losing to The Rock was probably a (near) dream come true for Punk - someone who grew up watching him.
No matter who holds the title, I think WWE pockets will generate more than a sustainable and profitable amount of money. Especially when the choices are Punk, Cena & The Rock.
I was simply defending why Punk as champion made since on a business spectrum.

The greatest thing about this is, the IWC still hasn't let this go. The funny thing is of every 10 whiners and complainers that Punk lost, 9 of them rooted for Rock back in the day. I mean yea, you can change favorites and what not but throwing a god damned temper tanrtum (fat kid who breaks a DVD) because Rock wins, those are the fans who make me agree with Vince as to why you can't even give them one thing.

I disliked The Rock back in the day. I mean I loved his matches, his selling was second to none and he cut promos but I just have never been a fan over an over arrogance like that. So I was pulling for Punk because I like that raw, uncut confidence over a cocky arrogance. But yeah I agree with TJ on that, people is swishy washy as FUCK!

Its not even the wishy washy that's bothering me, it's just the further of this idea and proven fact taht you can't give the IWC something to be happy about because the minute it goes a bit the way they don't want it to go, they piss and moan.
I mean, if this were to lead to Punk ending the streak (doubt it but you never know), they'd bitch he should have done it with the belt.

It's because too many people (myself included at times) feel they know whats best for Pro Wrestling. I do it for other Sports as well, I talk to the TV when the Texans are playing like they can hear me. I talk about what Fights the UFC SHOULD DO because "it's the smart move" but what do I or anyone NOT in that business really know about whats a smart move? It is annoying to see it on a large scale. I'm still more bothered by people who Band Wagon jump. Like with the Texans, so many are "fans" now but without a google search couldn't tell me who the first Starting WR was for the Texans.
