Overdrive was still on the air but Michael Harris happened to be storming out of the building with his things in hand. He had just got down with an encounter in the ring with John Dionysus and found out that RassleMania VIII he would be given a title shot for Dionysus’s Xtreme Championship. However it seemed that he had no intentions of sticking around now that he knew all of this. No sooner than Harris reached the limo out in the parking lot that was waiting for him. Harris heard someone screaming his name while chasing after him and it just happened to be none other than Shane West. Harris just glared at him as he approached the legendary icon with a microphone in hand per usual.
SHANE [ THE INTERVIEWER ] WEST
“Michael! Michael! Wait up a second!”
MICHAEL [ THE UNTOUCHABLE ONE ] HARRIS
“What the hell do you want Shane?! Don’t you see I am trying to get the hell out of here?! I am sick of being around people that are pathetic and that are nowhere near worth my time. People like you, so what the hell is it that you could possibly want out of me?!”
SHANE [ THE INTERVIEWER ] WEST
“I just wanted to get your thoughts on what happened out there tonight. After weeks and weeks of brutally attacking John Dionysus, it was announced that two of you will meet at RassleMania and his championship will be on the line. I could only imagine that you are feeling pretty good about finally getting what you wanted, regardless if the route that you took to get the title shot. None the less, you got it.”
MICHAEL [ THE UNTOUCHABLE ONE ] HARRIS
“And what exactly is that supposed to mean Shane?”
SHANE [ THE INTERVIEWER ] WEST
“I’m just saying that you kind of did things underhanded. You’ve constantly attacked Dionysus from behind. You’ve brutally attacked him over and over again. You have left in lying there in the ring a broke mess at least three times now that I know of and most of the time when people want a title shot or something like that in this business. That’s not usually the way you get and people would respect you more if you did it the right way, but you still got the title shot so that’s all that should matter.”
MICHAEL [ THE UNTOUCHABLE ONE ] HARRIS
“Listen here you little tapeworm. I did what I had to do because that’s what I have always done my entire career. I’m not one of those guys that wait until I am handed something. I am not one of those people that sit around and do nothing only to get something given to me that I don’t deserve. Instead I went out and gave people a reason to pay attention to me. I gave people a reason to look in my direction. I earned myself a championship match. People might not like the way I went about things or whatever but it doesn’t matter what people think. I got what I wanted and now that I have it. There’s no one that’s going to prevent me from achieving it and there’s no one that can take it away from me.”
SHANE [ THE INTERVIEWER ] WEST
“Calm down there Harris, I wasn’t trying to offend you or anything. I was just making a general statement about things. But none the less, no matter how you look at it. You now have a match for the title at the biggest event of the year. What’s going to happen when you get in that ring in a couple weeks? I could only assume that you are aiming to leave with the be;t and aiming to get a huge victory.”
MICHAEL [ THE UNTOUCHABLE ONE ] HARRIS
“You damn right, but the difference is I am going to win and I am going to be the new Xtreme Champion. I can’t be and I won’t be stopped, that’s all there is to it. Now get the hell out my way moron, I’ve got things to do, people to see, and goals to accomplish. That’s what a true winner like myself does!”
Before Shane could say anything else, Harris slammed the door shut and the limo quickly pulled out of the parking lot leaving Shane West standing there looking a bit dumbfounded. Obviously there was still a lot that he wanted to ask and clearly there were some answers that he was looking for but obviously Harris had other things in mind. Now the people were going to have to wait a little while to hear from him and they were going to have to wait and see if he was a man of his word when it came to getting in the ring and once again becoming champion. Not something they liked but at the same time there was nothing they could do. Just then Shane demanded the cameras cut away and sure enough that’s what took place.
★ PRIME TIME ★

With days before RassleMania takes place. There were all kinds of media covering the event. There were a lot of talk shows that were interested in APW Stars making a guest appearance on their shows. Right here tonight on the Tonight Show, the one and only Jay Leno was going to get his request granted. He was going to get one of the APW superstars and one of the biggest wrestling icons of all time to appear on his show. It was bound to be quite the interesting show and a lot of questions that were currently going unanswered would have their answers. Just then the show went live as the cameras put their attention on Jay Leno with all the fans cheering in the background.
JAY [ TONIGHT SHOW HOST ] LENO
“Ladies and Gentlemen, welcome to the Tonight Show. I am of course your host Jay Leno and here tonight we’ve got a pretty exciting show for you. Our first guest of the night just happens to be a professional wrestler. He’s technically more than just that he is a legend in the wrestling business. With one of his biggest matches to date coming up at APW’s RassleMania VIII, I decided to go ahead and invite him out for the show. So without further ado ladies and gentlemen, please give a round of applause for the Untouchable One: Michael Harris!”
As soon as Leno finished his introduction “Remedy” by Setther began playing throughout the entire arena. Much opposite to in wrestling arenas the crowd began to cheer for him and give a nice round of applause. A few moments later Harris came out from the back wearing a KISS band t-shirt, a pair of faded denim jeans, and converse sneakers. He took a brief moment to wave to the crowd before walking up to where Leno was. The two men wasted no time in shaking hands with one another before Harris took a seat right there in an empty chair beside Leno. Harris’s music was quickly cut and the crowd started to calm themselves down. Leno wasted no time taking over at that point.
JAY [ TONIGHT SHOW HOST ] LENO
“Mr. Harris, welcome to the show my man.”
MICHAEL [ THE UNTOUCHABLE ONE ] HARRIS
“It’s a pleasure to be here Jay. In all the years, I have been a wrestler and out all the big events I have done in the last eleven years. I can say I finally made it because I got to be on the tonight show with Jay Leno haha.”
JAY [ TONIGHT SHOW HOST ] LENO
“Well you know it just happens like that haha. But let’s get right on into business shall we? I am told that on March 25th, you will be competing at APW’s RassleMania VIII event. Obviously being a huge wrestling icon that you are. This isn’t your first encounter with a big dance like this. How does it feel though to have a match on the biggest APW show of the year knowing that you just recently came back to wrestling after supposedly retiring about a year ago?”
MICHAEL [ THE UNTOUCHABLE ONE ] HARRIS
“I can say when I retired last year that I didn’t have any intentions on coming back. That was it for me. I had done all there was to do in this business and there was no point in sticking around when I just didn’t feel the passion anymore. Not to mention the injuries were starting to pile up and I wanted to do my job as a husband and as a father. That’s what I set out to do, but as I learned very quickly. No one ever truly retires from this business. After about a year I started to get that itch again. I felt like I still had enough in me to make one last run and have it be as big as the last several years of my career. That lead me to taking up a contract with APW when one was offered to me. For me to be involved in a big event at their RassleMania event knowing that I just signed a contract with the company a few months ago. It’s a pretty amazing feeling, but at the same time I knew I would be there. I knew I still had it in me to make a big enough impression to be involved in a big way this year, and sure enough I ended up being right like usual.”
JAY [ TONIGHT SHOW HOST ] LENO
“You got that much right. You have made quit the impression on APW as a whole. Now if my sources are correct. You are set to face John Dionysus in which his Xtreme Championship is set to be on the line. Can you tell us how this entire thing started between you and Dionysus? I am sure the people here in the audience are interested.”
MICHAEL [ THE UNTOUCHABLE ONE ] HARRIS
“I came to APW to find competition. I came to APW to be pushed to my limits. I came to APW to test my skills in ways they haven’t been tested in years. About three matches in to the company, I wasn’t getting what I wanted. I was undefeated and there wasn’t one person that had really pushed me to my limits. It was clear that President Jeff and the offices weren’t going to give me what I was asking for. That’s when I went looking for competition and that’s when I went looking to make my name known. I made my intentions known when I set my sights on John Dionysus. All it took was me delivering The Brooklyn Knockout and leaving him lying there in the middle of the ring a broken mess. It got worse the next week when Dionysus cheated and rolled me up when I wasn’t looking to put an end to my undefeated streak. As you could imagine I wasn’t very happy with that. Again I hit him with the move and left him lying there in the ring making my intentions even clearer.”
Harris paused for just a moment looking out at the crowd. He could tell that he had the attention of every single fan sitting there in the studio and there was a good chance that he had the attention that was sitting there at home. Most importantly though, Harris was hoping that somewhere Dionysus was catching this and wanted him to listen to his words very carefully because this wasn’t a game to him. At RassleMania, Harris was going to do anything and everything he could to swing it all in his favor.
MICHAEL [ THE UNTOUCHABLE ONE ] HARRIS
“About a week later we found ourselves standing in the middle of the ring with each other. I wanted a shot at the Xtreme Championship. I had made it clear that I wanted a shot. I had made it clear I was better than Dionysus and I had made it clear that I had all the tools to once again be champion. I got inside Dionysus’s head and he was willing to give me a shot right then and there, but of course President Jeff stuck his nose where it didn’t belong. Instead of letting me win the title that night. He denied the match and set it for March 25th, at RassleMania. It appeared to me that President Jeff was doing Dionysus a favor and saving him from losing the title that night, but in reality it doesn’t matter what night you book the title match. I know for a fact that I am going to win and I know for a fact that I am going to be the next Xtreme Champion. But to make sure that President Jeff understood that, however most importantly to make sure that Dionysus understood that. I once again laid him out in the center of the ring with The Brooklyn Knockout. Basically three weeks in a row I made my intentions known, and three weeks in a row I have really worked over his ribs putting him in quite a bit of pain. Least he knows how serious I am and at least he knows what’s coming his way in a matter of days at RassleMania.”
JAY [ TONIGHT SHOW HOST ] LENO
“Well you have made quite the argument and got the title shot that you wanted. Now as we’ve said it is all going to go down Sunday, March the 25th, and your chance to shine brighter than before will finally arrive. You claim that you are going to leave with the belt and you claim that you are going to finally defeat Dionysus. I have nothing against that and I am looking forward to it, but the final question I have for you is simply this Michael. How are you going to be sure that all of this happens? Surely Dionysus isn’t just a joke that’s going to lie down and take it. You’re going to have to fight with everything to leave with that belt. What is it going to take for you to beat Dionysus? And what is it going to take for you to leave with the belt?”
MICHAEL [ THE UNTOUCHABLE ONE ] HARRIS
“There’s nothing I need to do other than be the best that ever existed. I have gotten inside Dionysus’s head before the match has even rolled around and that’s just half the battle. Once you are inside your opponent’s head you pretty much have them right where you want them. As much as Dionysus will try and deny it. As much as he’ll try and say that it isn’t true, but it’s crystal clear but on top of all that Jay. I have made sure that Dionysus doesn’t enter this match at a hundred percent. I know for a fact that his ribs aren’t healed from the beating they have taken three weeks in a row. I think I even heard a rumor that he might have a rib or two broken thanks to me. That is going to play a huge factor into this match. He isn’t going to be a hundred percent. He isn’t going to be able to fight me off the way he wants. Simply put Dionysus isn’t going to be able to survive a match with me, because the moment I start beating him down is the moment he’s going to have no choice but to give up or have his career ended. It doesn’t make a difference to me if I got to end it or not, but I will in order to be the new Xtreme Champion. One way or another Jay, I am telling you. I am going to have my hand raised in victory, I’ll be champion, and Dionysus will be a complete afterthought here in APW at the end of RassleMania. That’s guarantee and I always make word on my guarantees!”

We are going to have our second guest of the evening and I assure you, most teenage girls are going to go insane!”
Then the show went off air as there was some kind of cheesy music that began playing for those in attendance basically explaining the show as on break for a moment. Harris stood up from his chair and once again shook hands with Jay Leno before turning and exiting the stage heading into the back. It was quite the experience for him to be on a big time prime time talk show and it was always fun getting a chance to talk wrestling as well as hype himself up. Granted this was more so about promoting APW and RassleMania than anything at all but he made sure he got what he wanted off his chest. In a few days though, it was going to be right back down to business and it would be all about him. RassleMania was just around the corner and he refused to fail. One way or another Harris was going to make history at the event.

“Indeed, once again Michael thanks for joining us and best of luck at RassleMania. I’ll be sure to pay attention that night and see how it all turns out for you. Now with that being ladies and gentlemen, we are going to go to commercial break but when we come back. We are going to have our second guest of the evening and I assure you, most teenage girls are going to go insane!”
Then the show went off air as there was some kind of cheesy music that began playing for those in attendance basically explaining the show as on break for a moment. Harris stood up from his chair and once again shook hands with Jay Leno before turning and exiting the stage heading into the back. It was quite the experience for him to be on a big time prime time talk show and it was always fun getting a chance to talk wrestling as well as hype himself up. Granted this was more so about promoting APW and RassleMania than anything at all but he made sure he got what he wanted off his chest. In a few days though, it was going to be right back down to business and it would be all about him. RassleMania was just around the corner and he refused to fail. One way or another Harris was going to make history at the event.
★ THE HARRIS ERA ★
[scene three]
RassleMania VII was just a few days away and it was being described as one of the biggest RassleMania’s in APW history. That very well could be the truth with the packed card. There was one man that would be making his first appearance at the big event and one man that was determined to make sure that it all ended the way he wanted. That man of course being none other than APW Superstar: Michael Harris. Over the last couple weeks the guy had been making a name known for himself and had quite the big match up coming up at the event. It was for the Xtreme Championship and if anyone knew anything about Harris’s past, they would know he’s proven himself to be quite the successful champion over the years. That being said there was a video that started to surface on the internet just days before the event and it just happened to feature The Untouchable One. This was something people wouldn’t want to miss and would want to hear every word of. Play the video now…
Once the cameras opened up, it was made quite obvious who was standing there and what this was all about. Michael Harris stood there in the cameras view with his attention directly on the cameras. Upon the cameras opening up and being focused on him, Harris literally wasted no time at all starting to speak seeing as there was a huge message that he planned on delivering today and he was going to see to it that he got it all off his chest.
MICHAEL [ THE UNTOUCHABLE ONE ] HARRIS
“March 25th, 2012 is the night that RassleMania is being held, but this date has another meaning. A meaning that is far more important than just APW hosting their biggest event of the year. A meaning that will overshadow every single match on the card. A meaning that will in fact change everything that you people know about APW. On this date a dawning of a new era will finally come into play and I’m talking about The Harris Era.”
For a brief moment Harris paused letting the people taking what he said into context. Those who knew the career of Harris knew what he was talking about and knew where exactly where this was going to go, but those who didn’t know anything about him or his past would be completely clueless, thankfully Harris had the goal of filling everyone in on just exactly what all of this meant.
MICHAEL [ THE UNTOUCHABLE ONE ] HARRIS
“That’s right you people heard me. APW is about to witness something known as The Harris Era. It is the very era that I have unleashed on every single major promotion I have worked for in the past. This era has been the era that has made me famous all around the world and it happens to be an era that a lot of people have feared. A lot of people didn’t want anything to do with it because they knew what that meant for them. But it didn’t stop me from releasing it and it didn’t prevent them from having to experience. Now I am sure many of you are clueless and have no idea what The Harris Era is about. Allow me to give you just the most important details. You see the Harris Era is an era where anything and everything is all about me. It is an era that comes into effect and makes me completely untouchable – more than I already am. It’s an era that tends to take place when I have a championship in my possession. In fact at RassleMania when I become the next Xtreme Champion, that is going to be the very thing that forces The Harris Era to begin taking over all of APW.”
He just stood there looking at the cameras with a smirk on his face. That ego of Harris was already starting to shine and it wouldn’t be long till the people that would see this video end up getting annoyed with him because of his ego. But sadly this was just the beginning of things and people hadn’t seen or heard anything just yet.
MICHAEL [ THE UNTOUCHABLE ONE ] HARRIS
“At this point I am sure a lot of you people are going ‘but John Dionysus is the Xtreme Champion and a very successful one at that’ – Now while that might be true. It doesn’t truly mean anything to me and it isn’t going to stop The Harris Era from taking place. You see over the last couple weeks I have proven time and time again that Dionysus is no match for me. He was walking around here thinking that there wasn’t anyone interested in his championship, and he was walking around here with literally not a care in the world. That’s when he got planted into the mat with The Brooklyn Knockout. Right then and there, I fired the first shot to this entire deal. It was a shot that was heard all over APW but it didn’t end there.”
Once people saw this video, they would know exactly what he is talking about. It would be something that they could remember action for action. It happened rather quickly but it made a big enough impact that people were talking about it for weeks and weeks to come. However that was just the very beginning when it came to this story in regard to Dionysus. There was much more that came after and he had no problem giving people the recap to it all. After all it was something that he personally loved going over in his mind.
MICHAEL [ THE UNTOUCHABLE ONE ] HARRIS
“Just a week later Dionysus was in the back running his mouth before our tag match, and what did I do? I showed him firsthand how I handle people that run their mouths. He found himself getting his ass handed to him backstage and essentially taken out of the tag team match for that night. I proved just how powerful I was and I proved just what I could be capable of when I was pushed over the line. Of course Dionysus being the moron that he is. He didn’t stay down. He went right back out to that ring and attacked me – technically causing a disqualification resulting in my team winning, but of course we all know that President Jeff is a biased jackass. He restarted the tag match and that’s when I was shown what kind of man Dionysus truly was underneath it all. He waited till I was distracted and rolled me up in the center of the ring to put an end to my undefeated streak. That was nothing more than a cheap shot and it made him look like a complete coward. However I wasn’t going to be one outdone by those kind of antics. I ended up running right through him a second time leaving him in the center of that ring. I showed my dominance and I showed Dionysus that it was going to take a lot more than a couple of cheat moves like that to really get under my skin. It was going to take a lot more than that to stop me.”
Harris stood there nodding his head a little bit. It was obvious that what happened to his undefeated streak annoyed him seeing as he viewed Dionysus as a cheater and viewed him as someone that did something underhanded but at the same time he was one of those people that always got his revenge no matter what the situation was. That’s what lead him into his next point of things and this was the last bit of the story that lead everything to what it was between the two of them.
MICHAEL [ THE UNTOUCHABLE ONE ] HARRIS
“Then on the last Overdrive, Dionysus made his way to the ring after my match and he decided to grow a set of nuts. It took him long enough and it isn’t like it was really going to do a whole lot but it was still enough to make him seem like he some kind of back bone. He basically called me out and wanted to know what my deal was. That’s when I told him that I found him weak. I found him a disgrace to this business. I found him a disgrace to hardcore slash extreme wrestling. I even made it very clear that I do not feel he is true championship material. It must have gotten under his skin or something because he was willing to give him a title shot right then and there. I was accepting of it but per usual President Jeff stuck his nose where it didn’t belong and once again did what he could to favor his favorites. He denied the match but did make sure it would happen at RassleMania. At least he did that right, but it was clear he was trying to save Dionysus and his reign on that night, but in reality it did nothing other than piss me off even more and force me to be a hundred percent ready for this match. To make Dionysus understood what he was up against, to make sure President Jeff realized what he had just done, and to make sure everyone knew what was going to happen at RassleMania. I took another shot and once again left Dionysus lying in the middle of the ring clutching his ribs and rolling around in agony. I set the tone for RassleMania and now it is up to me to deliver.”
It would seem like Harris would really have to go above and beyond to prove himself with this match being so big, but after everything he has done. After breaking Dionysus down mentally and after breaking him down physically, there was no doubt about it. This match was going to be easier than it would if he hadn’t done all that he had done, well at least in his opinion. It’d be easier time still remained to be seen in rather or not all of that was true.
MICHAEL [ THE UNTOUCHABLE ONE ] HARRIS
“Dionysus, my opinions on you haven’t changed in the least bit. I still view you as a weak individual. In fact I find you one of the weakest men on the Overdrive roster and you are most likely one of the weakest men in all of APW. I still view you as someone that can’t get the job done against me. Yeah, you can get it done when you cheat and when I have my back turned, but when we have to meet each other face to face in the ring. When we have to meet each other head up and actually have to fight each other. You can’t do any damage and you are going to end up failing hard against me. I also view you as a crappy champion and someone that doesn’t have the slightest clue about real hardcore wrestling or what it means to be extreme. You’ve just managed to get lucky and cost by this long as champion. You’ve never had any one really test your skills in a hardcore or extreme setting, but all of that comes to an end soon enough. You are going to have the ever living shit beat out of you. I’m going to knock your teeth out. I am going to beat you until you bleed and as always I am going to leave you lying in the center of the ring. It won’t be any different than any other time before. You’re already hurt and you won’t enter this match in the best of shape thus meaning beating you down and doing damage to your body is going to be easier than what it has been before. I’ve also gotten inside your mind. You now know what’s coming your way, but the problem is you don’t know how to stop it and that’s because you don’t have the skills to stop it. I am going to run right through you and make you look like a pathetic human being.”
Surely these words that were coming out of his mouth would eat away at Dionysus, and surely the Xtreme Champion would want to do anything and everything he could to prove Harris wrong. That was going to be a difficult task especially with everything that has happened so far but there was a chance it could happen. It was just that the Untouchable One would be doing his damnest to make sure it wouldn’t happen. At that point Harris began to deliver the last thing that was on his mind.
MICHAEL [ THE UNTOUCHABLE ONE ] HARRIS
“Dionysus, this isn’t a game to me. I am dead serious when I said I was coming back to wrestling and I am dead serious when I say that The Harris Era will unfold in a couple days at the big event. You are nothing more than a stepping stone for me to get to where I want to be. You are nothing more than victim and soon enough you are going to be nothing more than an afterthought within this company, I am personally going to see to it. Dionysus, at RassleMania VIII – I am going to fire the last shot and why that might be? Well the answer is real simple my friend…”
Harris took a moment to pause just for added effect even though by this point everyone knew what was about to come next. He just looked at the cameras glaring a little bit but still had that arrogant smirk featured. That’s when the pausing stop and he finished it up like the true legendary icon that he was.
MICHAEL [ THE UNTOUCHABLE ONE ] HARRIS
“I AM BETTER THAN YOU![/u][/color]”
That was that. Harris had gotten what he wanted to say off his chest at least for now anyway. That’s when the man stepped on out of the cameras view officially putting an end to things. This led to the cameras fading out to black and leaving all the people wondering what would happen when the match finally went under way.
That promo from the Untouchable One had broken down so much and told one hell of a story. It wouldn’t matter to him if we liked it or not, but he did his job and had us entertained. He has us wondering what’s going to happen when he and Dionysus collide in the ring. Is he going to make it all come true? Will he once again become a champion in this business by picking up the Xtreme Championship? And will The Harris Effect finally be unleashed? All of those questions and more would be answered once RassleMania VIII rolled around!
