"Back against the wall and ours
With the strength of a willing to cause
A pursuit some called outstanding
Or emotionally complex
Against a grain
Left to stop at claims
Of all the thoughts your actions entertaining
And you, have proved, to be
A real human being..."
With the strength of a willing to cause
A pursuit some called outstanding
Or emotionally complex
Against a grain
Left to stop at claims

And you, have proved, to be
A real human being..."
"I don't think you're quite sure what you're asking me to do."
"...What do I look like, an idiot? You don't have to come along right away. I'm not gonna ask you to change your entire life on the drop of a dime, but I want you to give it some thought. Try to let me know within the next month or so... Something."
"Well, what if I give you a 'no'? I know how you are, little brother, and I know you'll just--!"
Evan Envi raises a hand to silence Sienna Harrison, his elder sister of nineteen months... She used that year-and-a-half to her advantage at every opportunity. She used the term "little brother" in a disparaging way, when she was trying to dismiss an idea of Evan's.
She looked very sophisticated today, and perhaps with the wardrobe came the attitude. She was wearing a slategray skirt that fell around knee-length, and a black top which was veiled by a white sweater. Sienna's hair was pulled in a loose, tangled bun behind her head... Which was where the vision stopped, and Evan viewed her as Sienna--- his snobby, contemptuous sister. Not older, just sister.
Evan, on the other hand, was wearing a plain pair of black jeans over black Chuck Taylors and an "American Gladiators" t-shirt. If someone were to see the two arguing... Well... Evan just didn't look the part. The differences, today, were strikingly obvious.
"I knew what I was asking. Don't flatter yourself, Sienna. Whether you come along and be my manager or not, my career goes on. When I had no one at my side, I was amazing. And when I had you at my side, I was just as great. I asked you, because I like you there. It's nice to have family closeby when you're traveling all the time."
Sienna rolls her eyes.
"You'll eventually complain about me invading your privacy all the time and--"
"We're adults. This isn't AWA. I'm sure you'll know when you're overstepping your boundaries."
Evan says this in a lighthearted manner, though there is a certain sternness in his voice that makes Sienna falter just a bit before continuing.
"Fine. I won't shoot it down just yet. But..."
"But...?"
"Prove that you're gonna stick around for a while. I watched you in UWA and SCW and I don't want to be attached to something that's going to walk away... If I'm with you in APW, then every decision you make professionally is going to affect me. So... I'll watch. I'll watch what you do in APW. And if you look like you've matured, and I even think that you need me, then we can talk about it."
Evan seems fond of this response. He just gives her a half-smile and turns, his arms folded over his chest.
"I said it to you, I've said it to Sam Parker... I'll say it again: I'm gonna be the World Champion. I don't care if it's the APW World Heavyweight Title or the Undisputed Title-- I'm gonna be an APW World Champ by the end of this year. Trust me.
"I don't plan on bailing anytime soon. And it's not because this place is so much different from every other place... It's because I know how much time I've been wasting. I got a chance here, and I'm gonna capitalize on it. Bet."
Evan walks away, leaving his sister alone to analyze his words, and the offer laid in front of her.
