Anyone else here a big time comedy nerd?
I feel like I'm constantly listening to comedy podcasts and albums.
Figured I'd just spark a convo. My top 5 podcasts right now are...
Nerdist WTF with Marc Maron Doug Loves Movies Mike and Tom Eat Snacks Making It with Riki Lindhome
And as far as comedians I'm watching/listening to a lot right now are
Anthony Jeselnik Garfunkel & Oates Doug Benson Bo Burnham Marc Maron
Then of course, all time favorites of Mitch Hedburg, Jerry Seinfeld, Norm MacDonald, Bill Cosby, George Carlin.
Maybe I'm the only one, but I had to see if there were others who enjoyed comedy so.

Oh, definitely a Lewis Black fan. Don't know if he's quite an all-time great, but definitely one of the best of this era.

Good god! I can't believe I forgot Titus! I'm a huge Titus fan, I have all three seasons on DVD, all of his comedy specials. I saw him at Caroline's on Broadway last summer in NYC. Hell of a comedian. His podcast is sub-par because his girlfriend is on there with him so he doesn't fully unload. But still worth the occasional listen.
But comedy wise, the guys a genius.

I don't know if I'd consider myself a comedy nerd, strictly speaking, but there are a few names I can throw out.
Titus (hence the AKA like), Black, Hedberg. I'm also rather a fan of that brilliant English transvestite, Eddie Izzard. And of course you can't like stand up comedy without liking George Carlin, may he rest in relative peace.

I give my props to Carlin (RIP) but how can you not hope that Mitch isnt? Thats mean Kaji. RIP Mitch! Lol I saw Tom Wilson (B2tF's Biff) do stand up. He's not bad, he even does a bit in the beginning to get Biff out of the way. Another hidden treasure is Steve Byrne.

I'll have to check out Tom Wilson, I didn't know he did stand-up. Back To The Future is probably my favorite movie series of all time though.
I've seen a few Steve Byrne things, I have a tough time getting over his persona, just doesn't flow right. But of course an "RIP" is deserved for Mitch. Gone too soon that wild druggie.
Also a big fan of Eddie Izzard, although, and I'm not a homophobe (I know he's not gay) or closed minded, it's tough watching him in drag, I love listening to the albums, but I can't focus on what he's saying when he's running around in heels.

Louis C.K. is my all time favorite. I really share his world view that "life is shit, wall-to-wall", so I find him sublimely amazing.
I saw him live a couple years back, when he was working on his "Hilarious" material and I've never laughed so hard.
Plus, he seems like a pretty down to earth guy. He made a million dollars off his last special, which he streamed online, and he ended up giving most of the money away.
Can't say I'm in love with his show "Louie", though. I find it kind of hit and miss, and he's really not that good of an actor. In fact, he mentioned this when I saw him live. He was doing an encore and fielding questions from the audience and someone asked if he's in any new movies coming out, and he replied "If I'm in something, it's probably terrible."

Oh fuck, yeah, Louis CK of course. I'm a fan of Louie, but I agree it can be hit or miss. He'll figure it out though, gotta love FX giving him a green light.

Jermey Hotz and Russle Peters are my favorite stand up comedians. Jerry Seinfeld as well, saw him live a couple months back, very funny show. I've also seen Jermey Hotz and Russle Peters live as well

Bo Burnham is real good. He's creative as hell. "Art is dead" is a real good song.
Jeremy Hotz I was a big fan of a few years ago. I haven't seen or heard much of him in awhile. My favorite joke was about being at the zoo and being followed by the Japanese tourists while hearing an elephant fart.
Don't know Russle Peters, I'll have to look into him.
Stephen Lynch had that one good album that had Lullaby, Special Ed, and Hermaphrodite on it. I listened to his new stuff recently and it's not doing it for me.
Brian Regan I've heard but I haven't gotten into it too much.
