Whack...Whack...whack
We fade in from a steady black roll down gray cement ramp. As we steadily progress further below the ground the sound becomes even louder.
Whack...Whack...whack
Now we are in a large basement. It is is musky, but noticeably clean. at first glance of any of the fixtures one would notice the cellar has had extensive work done, as the corners of the tiles are all rotted and rusting away. We turn and are suddenly right next to the source of the noise.
Whack...Rattle...Whack...whack...Rattle Rattle.
A heavy bag dangling from the ceiling above being struck by a very in the zone Warren Peace. From the sound impact and the look of sheer intensity on Warren's face it doesn't seem the the protective shin pads are doing much protecting of his limbs he has trained as weapons. And he finishes with a flurry of elbows.
He stops, and presses his face up against the heavy bag. his dripping sweat sticking his face to the outside lining as his breath collides heavily against the mesh. We slowly pan back and Warren's entire body is now in frame. The gray and black workout shorts are drenched in sweat. His beard now gone allows his youthful features to transcend into the camera.
He wipes the the remaining sweat away from his forehead with a hand towel and smiles at the camera.
Warren Peace: Aha, it's been a while since I had to put on my face for a camera.
He steps up to the camera and pokes at the lens.
Warren Peace: Never was a fan of this anomaly. I'm speaking to an entire universe or people, but there's no one in there. Well, welcome to the layer. my secret sanctum of sorts. In my absence from the ring I have been here. clearing my head and re adjusting my strategies.
he points to the far wall where there is a smorgasbord of maps, blueprints, graphs etc sticking to the wall.
Warren Peace: The last time you all saw me I had my final match on Overdrive against Blade. Although I had been feeling better I lost the match and left the brand without any dignity intact. However the last time you saw me, the real me. The 2011 rising star, was long before that. As it is now I am officially a member of the Asylum Brand.
However I had spoken to company officials and had myself booked on the new blood show to shake away any ring rust that may have overcome me in my time away from the ring. As it turns out I have been booked against this newcomer Steve The Hitman Stryker.
Now if any of you saw that video of him floating around ending with a crass "promo" you learned about this man the same as I. His woman is latina snowboarder and he really liked budweiser. And beyond that I learned that this man really has no idea just what he's gotten himself into.
Steve you're new around these parts and it seems that you're new to the industry as a whole. I could tell that you did absolutely no homework on me so here's a little bit of a history lesson. Warren peace broke into the scene last year attacking anyone from behind if he thought it would make a statement. Warren Peace had himself a couple of tag team partners who never really held up their end of the bargain so Warren won the tag team gold by himself and by killing the division helped to reinvent it. Teams like Studmuffins have become stars, because of Warren Peace.
Now see I'm the bastard son of a wrestling legend who came to wrestle in this business as a way to destroy it from within. And well that worked out for a while, but there really isn't any long term financial benefit from killing the industry that pays me. So there's a little about me. Now for a little about the circus act you've just found yourself in.
Wrestling is first and foremost show business. There's a lot of athlete fundamentalists who like to shun that side and disagree, but they are lying to themselves. see professional wrestlers are liars. We lie for a living. names, personas, gimmicks, these are all fabrications in the name of this sport. Now with those lies can sometimes come some very violent ass beating. Afterall we get paid to beat each other senseless to point we may be pinned to the mat.
And now for a little bit about you. Steve Stryker is from the Motor city, Detroit Rock City that is and has nerve to use Rush as his theme music. He was a bodyguard and get this, an MMA fighter. You Steve you're sounding very very dime a dozen right now. And he became a wrestler because he watched some old tapes from that OTHER promotion. and now he has found himself here in APW.
Now steve this is the part where I talk directly to you and keep in mind I am known for some very brutal honesty. So here it goes. Hitman you come off more than a little green and incredibly clueless. I am glad that you get the irony of my ring name, but beyond that you understand nothing about me. I break the fourth wall, I hate this whole dog and pony act, and frankly if I like to hurt people. And I even kind of get off making you all look as stupid as possible. I am a talker, before a fighter at best I am strategist. I have a plan, and back up plan and hell I am always prepared just in case with that plan c.
There's is not a peaceful aspect to my soul therefore there is not a peaceful aspect to the gimmick that I bring to the wrestling ring. When meltdown comes this week you are going to step out like every tough guy mixed martial artist in your tap out shirt and your going to think that since you have some shoot fighting experience that you can waltz into our business and take it by storm, because for some reason you're more legit than a professional wrestling. When the fact is this, is a much different kind of monster where the legalities of a shoot fight are tossed of of the window and people like me will beat your brains into the mat with any foreign object I can get hands on.
I have put much more famous and respected people out of work than you Hitman and now I am left with more than enough to prove. See I plan to take asylum by storm and continue to mayhem that I caused on Overdrive and I will be go damned if some new mma chump is going to kill my momentum dead before I even get booked on the show.
This message isn't just for you Hitman, but for Asylum and APW and President Jeff himself. Warren Peace is back. My war is far from over, I am simply fighting from a new front. And this time no one will stop me especially the likes of Steve Stryker.
He swings at the heavy bag again, the chain snaps and a cloud of dust erupts from the floor as the bag lands with a thud. Warren stares into the camera and we fade to black.
