brought to you by
[shadow=Green,left,300]On this episode of the reality show that follows the life and times of APW superstar, and soon number one contender for the world heavyweight title, Austin Daniels. On this episode we follow the ACE on his publicity tour for APW's upcoming PPV Test 4 the Best, where Austin Daniels is in the tournament to crown a number one contender.[/shadow]
In a studio in New York...Austin Daniels stands in a pairs of blue jeans, and a black sleeveless muscle shirt that fits snugly on his torso. The high flying Daredevil of the ring has already appeared on the Today show, Live with Regis and Kelly, yesterday he appeared on the Latenite show with David Letterman, but on this morning he is in the headquarters of Sirius satellite radio, standing in the green room of the Howard Stern show, looking at the crazy pictures of the happenings over the years on this outrageous radio program. The producer to the show Gary comes in to get the ACE for his appearance. The ACE is presenting a check that the APW has offered as the grand prize for "The Hottest Chick Ugliest Scar" contest. Austin follows the man toward the studio with the large check in hand, and the door is opened as Austin is brought into the on air program.
"And here to present the prize from APW Austin Daniels" Says the great Howard Stern.
Austin walks over with the check, hands it over to the girl that has been deemed the hottest chick with the ugliest scar. Some photos are taken for the website, and the ACE poses with the winner. Then Austin is asked to put on a pair of head phones, and a microphone.
"So you are a wrestler, big guy, I bet you kick all sorts of ass in the ring hunh?" asks Howard.
"Yeah he's pretty handsome" says Robin Quivers, Howard Sterns women co host.
"Yeah I do pretty good in the ring"
"Now Austin I got this question, wrestling is fake, and well seeing it for the past forty or fifty years, it seems it is, until this APW comes to life, the major popularity you guy's have gotten has got to feel good." Asks Howard
"Yeah it's a good product, with lots of talent"
"Now back to the fake thing...this move of your the four aces...I saw this thing.. a double spinning backflip...pretty hard to fake a two hundred pound man flipping twice and then landing on you." asks the radio host.
"Well I have never said wrestling is fake, and pretty much do anything in that ring to get the win, and get the crowd."
"Well I mean it seems like you are risking yourself when you do things like that, I mean I read up a little on you..a ton of money from winning some jackpot, and I mean being a tough guy, you most get a ton of poon, why risk your life, and not just play it safe." asks Howard.
"Well I do pull my share of poon as you put it, but the rest of it comes from pride. I have the utmost amount of pride for this business, I grew up on this business, and it means the world to me. I want this business to be on top of the mountain again, have the main attention of the world like it used to. I will lay it on the line each and every night, for the fans, and the hopes that they will go home tell someone else about this maniac Austin Daniels, and how he almost killed himself preforming this insane move."
"But what if you get hurt, or Die in there?" Robin Asks.
"I will say this it's an honor to do hat I do, when I lace up the boots it's a dream come true, and the ultimate privilege that someone thinks I'm good enough to represent their company, and that the fans spend their money to watch me do my thing. As for dying I really don't put to much thought into that, but if I die in the ring, I couldn't think of a better place for it to happen. I love this sport, and if I die doing it then, it would be a proud death for me. I die putting a smile on all those people face, and well the shock factor of my moves is insane feeling, and dying doing would be a hell of a shocker."
"So this Sunday you guy's have this PPV, whats going on with that?" Asks Howard.
" Well it's called Test 4 the Best....You have this tournament that has boiled down to four people, they fight it out in a semifinals type of deal, then the two winners face off, and the winner of that one gets a title shot."
"Are you in that match?" Howard asks.
"Yep..I got eliminated in the first round by a man named Victor Brander, and they held a second chances match that I pulled off. Now I have to face the guy who knocked me out."
"Well I hope you kick his ass, and we wish you good luck Austin."
"Thanks"
"Alright folks we got some words and well be back" Howard responds as the show goes to commercial.
The Ace shakes hands with the crew of the show, says his goodbye's, and heads out of the building. The ACE stops at the curb to sign a few autographs for APW fans that have gathered outside the building reading the ACE was wearing on the show on APWonline.com. The ACE finishes the autographs, not missing one, and then hops in the limo there to shuttle him to the airport. Austin has a flight awaiting him to transport him to St. Louis for the local press conferences there prior to the show.
The next day, which is also the day before the PPV, Austin Daniels walks outside the arena looking it over. It's a nice change from the small time show, inside school gymnasiums, and bingo halls, to real arenas, and real event centers. Austin grabs a leaf from one of the plants lining the sidewalks along the building. Austin then walks inside the building to check in for a meeting of talent before the show to go over show specifics, and preparation.
About an hour and half after the meeting was adjourned, the ACE is seen backstage talking to a cameraman. The two walk out to the empty arena. Austin Daniels walks the aisle as the camera man films him, he then goes ringside, slides the guardrail aside, and heads up to plaza level seats, and sits in one of the empty chairs, the empty arena, just a day before the big event. The camera man sets up the tripod a couple of rows below the ACE. The camera then zooms in on the ACE, and a production guy stands off camera with a boom mic to capture the upcoming words from the newcomer to APW, and new found second chance superstar. Austin leans back putting his arms on the seat backs of the chairs next to him.
"Here we are....on the eve of to this date the most important match of my life. That phrase will be one that will follow me along this journey. Prior to my match tomorrow that phrase was spoken on my second chance match, where I won, and now it moves along to tomorrow. Now not to bypass Brander, but when I beat him the phrase will ring true as I take on either the great Doctor or the talented Vin E Lambardo. Once that objective is complete...the phrase will again move to the match where I will finally have my shot at the world title. I say finally because I have been fighting, clawing, and winning my way all over the country, and other places around this earth, in a pursuit to make a name for myself, and achieve greatness, and become a true world champion. Not the WWE, TNA, NWA, ROH, or any other company that holds a world title. The IWGP title comes in last place, when you stack it up against the most prestigious title in the business, the APW world title. Since this company's start, and rapid rise to the front line of the professional wrestling industry. People have left other feds, come from far and wide, all in an attempt to gain the privilege of being crowned the Heavyweight Champion of the World. I have beaten many of men, and lost to many of men, but that doesn't change the fact of my talent, it doesn't touch the desire I hold for this business, of taint the love, and drive I hold in high measure to achieve my ultimate goal. It's been well documented that I lost the opening match for this tournament, which also happened to be my debut here. Well in my mind, and some critics mind, my second match was a redemption to the first on many levels. I redeemed, showed my skills, and re-earned my place in this roster. Also reclaimed a spot in this tournament, and secured my chance. Things along my career, and journey through life haven't always gone the way I called them, but the end result, the ultimate goals, have all come to pass. That being said the fans are in for some serious entertainment, serious wrestling skills, and a group of four men sparing no expense to achieve the title of number one contender."
Austin leans forward in his chair out in the empty arena, post his folded arms on the seat back in the row under him.
"This organization has the talent, the management, has all the right tools to claim the number one place in history of wrestling. My goal is to be a catalyst to that very fact. Being the most daring, the most insane, high flyer to walk that aisle, and hold that title. Be the face of this company will not only boost my career, but the fame, and dominance of the APW. It starts with Victor Brander...hell it all started with you. Your skills, and one track mind threw me off the first go around. Congrats by the way...I'm not sure if I showed you the respect due for beating me in round one. I will tell you that round two will be different...hell we have all seen the movies...round two is always different. In this second round, I secure my spot in the later match, but can not think of that yet. My focus must be on you...not like the first round. Focused on moving forward, the ultimate goal, and took my eyes off of the now, and you capitalized on that fact which any thinking man would do, exploit a daydreamer, take advantage of someone not completely focused. Well round two comes to us via this arena, via PPV, via that ring...."
Austin stands pointing to the ring erected in the arena.
"That ring there will house the greatest un hyped rematch the industry has ever seen. Our second match Victor will steal the show...untill I move on later..and do it all over again to secure the title shot. Our match Brander will be full of technical wrestling moves, and a real game of chess according the wrestling gods. Two warriors are coming out here in this arena, as it's jam packed with die hard fans waiting for the spectacular...and thats where I shine. I dine in the realm of unbelievable, and play in the yard of thrilling. The fans will be entertained, and defiantly get their money's worth in our match alone. A ticket holder could watch our display of technical skill, and combat to the end, walk out of the arena, and be fully satisfied. We are two talented men, but it comes down to heart, and drive. Mines in place, hows yours. I'm ready for the ascension into the spotlight. It's dubbed there can only be one, Austin Daniels is that one, and right now Victor brander is number two. The showdown is upon us....and in the ring I will hypothetically speaking behead the Lone Wolf, and experience the quickening. Lighting will strike, and the power your bring to that ring will enter my body, and only make me stronger for the next round."
Austin Daniels sits back down in his seat, leans back, kicks his feet up, crosses them as the rest on the seat back.
"Whether it's Vin E, or Phate...I'm coming with a loaded deck, and plenty of trick cards up my sleeves. I fully prepared to shock the world, cause thats what I have been doing my whole career. If it's taking the moonsault further by adding a rotation, or coming up with counters to submissions or finishers, or by coming back into the tournament after being taken out, and sweeping the whole thing. It's a shame that the two most favored contenders to win the whole thing are facing off in the semi's. Managements worst nightmare when it comes to ratings. In Most cases the ideal situation would be having the two biggest names, the two with the biggest push from the fans, and have them seated in a manor that if they do makes it all the way, they face off in the finals...which would bring in the largest draw. Well lucky for them...the ACE is in the deck. I have put asses in seats all over the country, taken small time shows, and turned them into success's in their capacity. People would drive from three counties away to catch a glimpse of what I will do in that ring to win. Well now for APW, they have acquired the hottest commodity in the business, and I'm here to not only steal the show, but end each and every contenders chances. I'm the cat burglar that has broken into your houses, rummaged your drawers, cracked your safes, and taken off with your title shot. No matter the opponent Brander, Lambardo, or Phate...I'm fully ready to lay it all on the line. Preform at levels that many cannot dream, and achieve things most won't, the stakes are high, my hand has me confident. There is no bluff in my game, just great chances, ability, and a ton of luck. Tomorrow night is the Test, I have done my studies, sharpened my pencils, and sit here ready to ACE the Test with flying colors. In that ring gentlemen I know what your all are capable of...but remember this, I'll die if I have to, but thrill, and excel at every cost in the process. The river card has been dealt, that pretty much means the time for talking is through, all thats left is to show your hands. The cards never lie, and the ACE will not be beaten. The ring is calling, and the number one contender will be determined, I'll see you boy's in the ring, time to anti up."
Austin then stands from the chair, turns his back toward the camera, walks up the stairs of the arena, disappearing into the exit out into the concessions tunneling.
