BALL ROOM BLACKOUT
not tonight big fella...
Pre Mayhem
In the parking lot at the back of the Bell Center a black hummer pulls up with the music blaring from the sound system. The lights turn off and the driver’s door swings open. Out steps Blade who is dressed in what you could call ‘formal wear’. He adjusts his jacket and straightens up his bow tie as he moves towards the security guards at the back door.
Blade approaches the first security guard and gives him a sly nod before he is quickly stopped in his tracks. The guard raises his arm and places his hand on Blade’s shoulder before speaking up.
“Sorry, not tonight Blade.” Says the guard with a firm voice.
“Heh, c’mon move out the way I have a match to get ready for…” responds Blade as he knocks the guards hand from his shoulder trying to barge his way past.
“Once again, not tonight. We have orders from Jeff himself not to let you into the arena because you aren’t booked tonight and he doesn’t want any additional trouble." The guard stands his ground and it joined by another guard who stands behind him.
“Yeah I am. The Ball Room Brawl.” Blade pauses and steps back showing his gear. “I even hired my own tux and am ready to fight.” Blade once again tries to get past the guard but ins stopped again. “Guys, this isn’t even funny.”
The second guard steps back and reaches for his radio before speaking over it and calling for back up.
“So it’s like that is it?” Blade turns his attention to the second guard. “Do you know who I fucking am? I headlined Rasslemania and you treat me like this? I don’t deserve this, how does Jeff expect to sell out a Pay Per View event without Blade on the show?”
“Not our problem. We were told that if you arrived not to let you into the arena. As you can see we are sticking to our job, so I suggest you turn around and step back into that nice little car of yours and head off back to your motel.” Says the first guard as he takes a step forward and gets in Blade’s face.
“Oh, so you want to go?” Blade steps back in a flurry and struggles to get his jacket off before throwing it to the floor. “Let’s go then tough guy…” Blade makes a move towards the guard and before he can land a punch, he stops dead in his tracks as four more security guards come through the back door. Blade takes a look at them and steps back.
“Ha! So that makes you a tough guy does it? Six of you, one of me. Nice. Well you win, I won’t cause any trouble, just make sure you pass a message onto Jeff that I am not happy.”
Blade begins to retreat back towards the car making hand gestures at the guards as he does. They stand firm and don’t move keeping an eye on Blade as he gets back into the car.

“Mark Mania returns and expects the night to be all about him…
“I hear through the grapevine that you are actually happy that you are Main Eventing the Meltdown supershow, why? You realize that this is scraping the barrel even if it is for you return show? I don’t know what you have been doing in your time off, but I think you are delusional.
“Maybe back in the day you had your mask on too tight?
“That was you right? Parading around in a mask because you wanted to be mysterious, not wanting any one to find out your true identity. Well from me to you, it didn’t work because it was obvious who you were. At least this time you are showing your face and not trying to hide behind something you are not, so I guess that is a bonus.
“But what I am failing to understand is why return now? Surely you are off making millions with your side projects, so why do you feel the need to return to APW?
“In case you haven’t worked it out yet, Jeff likes to bury his raw talent on the undercard, and this time he has gone one step too far, burying me on Meltdown, hell he didn’t even have the balls to tell me to my face that he wasn’t booking me for Mayhem, it’s embarrassing. The same thing will happen to you, you will be forgotten about and there wont be a thing you can do to get your face recognized again
