The scene opens up at Test for the Best. The show has started and backstage in his locker room, sitting on a bench, tying his boots is one half of the number one contender for the Tag Team title, The Hardcore Kid. The camera focuses on the kid as he tights the last lace on his boot and looks up at the camera.
THK: Tonight is the big night. A dream may finally come true. I’ve been in APW since day one. I was the first guy to have his music played and go out to the ring. I was in the first ever APW match. And for the past five months I’ve been getting my ass kicked. Being marked as jobber. And am I upset about it. Well, actually, I’m not. My whole time in APW, it’s been a learning experience. I’m a rookie. I’m not scared to admit it. I have much to learn about this business. And over the last five months, even though I’ve lost almost all my matches, I’ve learned a lot. I’ve been studying tapes. I’ve been training hard. I’ve learned to put my mind more into this. And it’s helped. June was the best month for my so far. I beat Bryan Greatness. Jason and I beat Sabur and Razor Ryan to get our tag title shot. I’m 2-0 so far this month, and now there’s only one thing left to do and that’s to become APW Tag Team Champions at Test for the Best. To beat “Spirit” Tara Jacobs and “That Girl” Diana Steel Lambardo. And the honey moon that I heard Diana had, I’d be surprised if she’s in any shape to wrestle on Sunday.
The Kid chuckles to himself as he grabs his bandana and wraps it around his head.
THK: But again, the odd are stacked up against Jason and I. But I wouldn’t want it any other way. No one thought that we would be in this position right now. No one thought that we could beat Sabur and Razor Ryan. But Jason and I, we have heart. We have determination and we love to prove people wrong. That’s why we’re here. We win as a team and we lose at a team. I mean, in the past, Jason and I beat the crap out of each other, and from that, we gained respect for one another. And even though we haven’t teamed up as much as Spirit and Diana in the past, one thing we have in common with them is the respect for our partners. I mean, Sabur and Ryan didn’t respect each other and look where that got them. But lately I been watching Spirit and Diana. And I’m not gonna lie, Spirit, The crazy psycho scares the hell out of me, but that doesn’t mean I’m going to back down from here. Spirit has been through it all. Has been put through a lot of pain, and that alone anyone can respect. But when it comes down to it, I’m not one to lay down for anyone. Even though Spirit is one of the best wrestlers in APW right now, it doesn’t mean I’m just going to give up and not try. One thing I’m not and that’s a quitter. Jason knows all about Spirit and what she’s capable of doing and he’s been letting me know. But I’m going to come at you Spirit at full force. I’m going to hit you with everything that I have, with every inch of my body and my soul. And if I get my ass handed to me for it, then so be it. Because I will still be able to leave with my pride and my head held high. But all it takes is three second for you Spirit to let your guard down and Jason and I can sneak out the win and walk out the champs. You’re the threat of your team Spirit, and once your eliminated, then the threat is gone. The target is on your back now Spirit.

THK: But that doesn’t mean I haven’t forgotten about Diana Steel Lambardo who is the wild card in this match. Diana failed to deliver at the last Overdrive and got beat by the Overdrive champ, Michael Lively. And on a side note, I want to thank you Lively for weakening the competition. But Diana Steel, you’re married now to the best Wrestler in APW, Kenny Lambardo and he has the world belt to say he’s the best. And that’s your advantage going into this match. You have your husband training you and getting you prepared for this match, but that doesn’t worry me. Because as far as I can see, Kenny can’t beat Trevor alone and Twister pinned Kenny. The way I see it, Kenny is losing his grip at the top of the ladder. And that’s where Jason and I come in and use that to our advantage. See, if the man who’s helping you can’t get the job done. What makes you think that you’ll get the job done Mrs. Lambardo? Maybe this whole wedding thing got to you that you’re more focused having fun as a new bride than being focused as a Wrestler. But either way, it doesn’t matter cause tonight, I’m more focused than ever and I’m ready to finally wear some gold around my waist.

THK: Tonight, marks a new beginning for Jason and me. Tonight, we make history when we win the tag titles. And tonight, its time for the future of APW to set up and take charge. June is my month to Shine and tonight, Spirit, Diana, when its all said and done, Jason and I are walking out the champs, and before we do, we’re taking you both STRAIGHT TO HELL!
