I'll have comments once I've properly read everything but can we get some clarification on how many Overdrive's until Test for the Best. It said one at the end of the show but I've got the 21st and 28th by my count - with the ten days to then RP for Test for the Best on the 8th.

Metro mentioned in the chat about having crowd signs in the opening shots. I'd like to see it as long as it is done in a way that feels right to APW and not an imitation of something else. Basically the more the signs reference APW lore the better.
The opener was more chaotic than I would expect and felt like a very aerial, very spotfest ladder match much like it would be on TV. It works because of it and the finish was crazy enough that I would have done a double-take had I read that on some PPV results. Smith coming out with the win is bound to be big for him, I'm sure he knows how close these things can be to call sometimes so I hope he makes the best out of the second chance.
I liked Gates getting cut off when he did, Biggs' return is a big story and the way that whole segment went allowed the spotlight to fully shine on him. Announcing the match now helps a lot as well and Biggs gets to be the dickhead heel who won't fight unless it's on his terms. He comes out looking like the mastermind of a big plan, which is just as it should be.
Assassin/Saint was well-written and I really liked the way Assassin was portrayed, he looked strong for the majority of the match and the usage of submission is something you don't see enough in wrestling. It was nice to see that make an appearance here, would've probably preferred a pinfall to end it just because submissions always have that effect of knocking heat in real wrestling more than pinfalls. Something in the match about the Release Aztec got me thinking about whether that could become part of Saint's 5 moves of doom. Good match, liked Assassin's portrayal and was happy to see Saint shown as a face in peril as well.
Onto Delikado/Dionysus now in what I felt went very back and forth. The multitude of pinfall attempts might do with being toned down a bit so we can get extended sequences. Not by much, but a slight change could do wonders. Depending on how things shape up, Dionysus/Saint could be insane given the slight but important history if you go back to just before Rasslemania. I'm hyped.
I'll let someone else go into the detail of that Gates seg but all I can say is DAMN!
Marv's been on the rise ever since the start of the year and the best thing about this run is that segments like these blur the line enough where you have to start rooting for him in a small way. When you look at the background to all this it's amazing to think that since S&C 2011 we're only now coming to a point where Terry Marvin is about to break the glass ceiling. It's magical to see unfold.
Some more fun seeing the Sindicate becoming a more overwhelming force. Level and Johnny teaming has done them both the world of good and we're really seeing the benefits of that now. They're excellent heels and the Sindicate as a whole is more legitimate because of the way the whole force has been portrayed makes it great viewing. Marv's still the best heel though dammit.
Speaking of Marv, the Marv/Harris match goes into what I reckon is the optimal length for sequences. There's a lot of action going on but it has a pace that is both readable and fast. The spot with Carmen Rivera leading to the countout was well executed and until I read what happened next I was like WHAAAAAA. The restart being more panicky helped it but I felt it could've gone on a bit more before the DQ finish leading to another restart. Overall the match felt like a match between Harris/Marv, I couldn't see it featuring anyone else.
On to the main event and honestly i know that everyone will go into this with more detail than I will but I'll be brief anyhow. I loved the way things played out and the face-in-peril aspect of it, it feels as though the Kurt's leanings of going heel have gone away at just the right time as he needs to become the dark knight Gotham needs most. The problem is that the Sindicate is the Sindicate and we're looking at a situation where they're going to make it darker before the dawn. Heels reign supreme and there's not much time left until T4TB.
Even though it was only five matches, this felt like a really big show. Can't wait for next week.

That's a pretty full assessment by Saint, but I feel I've been slacking since I didn't get around to making any comments, so here are a few things from my perspective.
- Overall good show, the quality of the matches are definitely giving T4TB a big tournament feel that extends beyond merely the PPV.
- I think there was a nice balance between segments and matches, although I would have liked the ladder match participants to have written a post-match segment in anticipation of winning - it would have been a great way of selling the importance of this second chance on the show.
- Matches were again very high standard. A few comments on each.
Ladder match - I really enjoyed this, a really hot opening to the show, and like Keaton said, there were enough spots to give it a 'wow' factor.
Dio/Deli - Good match, although the one fault for me was the commentary. I know this is a real weakness, or maybe an inconsistency, in my match writing, and a comment was directed at me a few weeks ago that I need to use the comms to sell the wrestlers and what is happening in the match more, a valid piece of advice that I am now trying to implement. In this match the comm just felt a bit flat, seemed more like filler than supplementing or contributing to the action. It might sound like a small, pedantic, gripe but I'll put it out there anyway.
Tmarv/Harrs - I'll agree this match was definitely MOTN. These super-heel vs super-heel matches are difficult to write, but I thought the writer did a good job of putting both guys over, and there was a nice storyline to the match too.
ME - Agree with Saint. The face in peril stuff was good, showing the dominance of The Sindicate, who also happen to have one half of the former tag champs in their corner. Good finish too.
Segment-wise, what was there was good. I remember the CJ/Biggs stuff was going on when I first came to APW and it was the kind of storytelling that got me hooked to this place. I am and will always be a Biggs fan so glad to see him back in the ME, no matter how long it is for. Thanks to Keaton for the Dionysus cameo, like I said in PM I really liked it.
Some fab heel work done in the segments, one or two instances of burying that irked me a little, but I won't go into that because the overall effect was excellent.

Well, here goes my feedback...
Overall, I thought the show did what it did to gear things up for Test for the Best. I like how there weren't too many segments to drown out the matches and make it seem heavy one way or the other, but there were enough to make sure that the stories that are going on got their time to shine.
The matches were well written, as always. Marvin/Harris was definitely my favourite, though a lot of them stand out as being great. Liking how things are looking for the Test for the Best tournament, and I'm thinking it might be one of the better ones ever. Lots of big names from the Overdrive side of things, and definitely going to be some big names from the Asylum side of things, plus the Meltdown wildcard...definitely setting things up nicely.
The segments were well done. I liked the little touch that Keaton put into his, as Jules alluded to, because it does a lot to build between a possible meeting between the two in the tournament. The Biggs/Gates stuff...well, I've always loved working with Biggs, and the Sindicate stuff just continues to be great.
Definitely looking forward to seeing what the final Overdrive before T4TB has in store!

Thought this was a GREAT show with huge build up going into Test for the Best. There's really not a whole lot more I can say that doesn't echo the fellas above.
Segments:
I thought the segments as a whole were really solid. I really liked the Syndicate/Noble/Hart stuff as usual...lmao.
I was a HUGE fan of Keaton's segment. Thought it had the right amount of build, had the right amount of push and accomplished everything it wanted to.
Matches:
All the matches were very well written and pretty much accomplished their job. I was a fan of Deli/Dionysus myself. I thought it was a fantastically written match with good back and forth and a great feel of really watching this.
I'm glad everyone liked the Marvin/Harris match as writing a heel vs. heel is pretty hard to get it right. I tried to get both of us over, and tried to have a different feel with all the false finishes. I wanted people to read it and go "Yep....if Harris and Marvin really fought, this is what it would look/feel like."
GREAT show. I can't wait for next week and certainly not for TFTB.
