[/center]Our cameras opened up to a very different kind of setting. Way more different than any other time they had opened up. At first all people could see was a white room with abstract and Chinese paintings hanging off the wall. As cameras continued to circle around a little more several different massage oils were seen laying out on a counter there in the room.
Soon enough the cameras made their way all the way around before finding Johnny Sykes lying there on his stomach with a towel covering his back side. He had a big ol’ grin featured as a older Chinese lady ran her hands up and down his shoulders. It became very clear that this was a Chinese massage parlor and Sykes was up to something.
Johnny Sykes: Hello there bros and broskettes. I am Johnny Sykes and what you wonderful people are witnessing right now is the first edition of Syked Out Television. Pretty rad name right?! I thought so too folks. I am freakin’ rad so it kind of just goes hand in hand.
The Original Pranksta chuckled a little bit. Of course it didn’t surprise many people that he would brag about how awesome or in this case how rad he was. It’s been the same thing he’s been doing since he arrived but it was the cool kind of bragging and not the kind that people got automatically annoyed with.
Johnny Sykes: I have been in APW for little over a month and a half now. In that time I have won every single match I have been put in. In my very first match I beat someone that isn’t really worth mentioning but after I beat them they pretty much disappeared without a trace. I then went on to beat Mr. Bieber Hair to qualify for the Ball Room Brawl thingy and after I whooped dat ass. He disappeared… guess he was embarrassed or something.
Sykes kind of shrugged his shoulders a little bit. From behind him people could see the massage therapist moving from his shoulders and neck area to about to middle of his back. Without missing a single step Sykes continued to speak going forward with the point he was attempting to make.
Johnny Sykes: I walked into the Ball Room Brawl and no one thought I stood a chance. No one wanted to believe in me. No one thought I was anything special all because I was the new kid but what ended up happening when the dust settled? I beat two people from Overdrive. I beat one from Asylum and I beat another two from Meltdown. I walked out of that Ball Room Brawl a winner and I instantly started turning heads. It was such a great feeling.
He slightly nodded his head a little bit. It was a true statement too. a lot of people began to make a lot of rumble about Sykes. People were seeing his as possibly one of the next biggest starts to ever come to APW and saw him as a future main eventer on the Asylum brand. Never before had Sykes been considered a big deal so clearly it was a great feeling to him.
Johnny Sykes: Last week I qualified for the Test for the Best tournament when I killed off that Zombie aka Warren Peace. However upon finding out who I’d be against this week to see in rather or not I would be able to advance in the tournament. People started to doubt me again. People started to assume that my quest for being the best was already over, and you know why that is? It has everything to do with the fact I find myself against Sally Talfourd.
For those that were watching this video would automatically start to cheer on the match. After all the fans of APW were not only big Johnny Sykes fans but they were also huge fans of Sally. Not to mention it was pretty much a given that putting those two against each other would lead to a great matchup.
Johnny Sykes: Before I heard these little rumblings of people doubting me and before I actually heard from Sally herself. I was quite excited about the match myself. I saw this as a chance to get to face someone that I respect. I saw this as a chance to face one of the biggest names in this company. I saw this as a chance to prove that I belong around here and prove that I can go up against a former World Champion, but all the respect I held and all the high hopes I had went out the window the moment that Sally decided to disrespect me and show her true colors towards me.
Sykes kind of shook his head from one side to the other. It was pretty obvious that he wasn’t very happy with Sally’s comments. Then again that was understandable and there is a good chance that there would be other people not happy with her comments had she said them about them. However Sykes wasn’t going to let those comments get to him and wouldn’t allow them to hold him down.
Johnny Sykes: I admit that I might have been a little foolish in thinking that we were legit friends. I mean it isn’t like we had ever shared a real conversation with each other or had any kind of interaction between one another aside from a tweet or two. But I honestly thought that I could trust you and I thought there was a mutual respect between the two of us but clearly that isn’t the case. You proceeded to rag on the fact that I am not great and you proceeded to beat home the fact that I am like everyone else that you have ever faced. I am not original and that I am basically in a sense easy pickings for you, despite you saying that I bring a good kind of threat your way.
Again those comments clearly stung with The Pittsburgh Jackass. After all it isn’t like he saw it coming but the good news was he knew now. Now that he knew how she was and how she was going to treat him when it came to competition then it was time for him to take off the gloves. It was time for things to get real and it was time for him to bring it.
Johnny Sykes: You couldn’t be any more wrong with your logic than if you actually tried to be wrong. I might be a high flyer but that doesn’t define me as all the others that you have faced. Just because I like to be flashy and just because I like to make sure that fans get their money’s worth when people come to see me wrestle. I might not have gotten the chance to main event a huge pay per view yet like you have at RassleMania but that doesn’t mean I don’t have the ability to go toe to toe with you. I might not have gone on to win a World Heavyweight Championship but that doesn’t mean that I am not great. I can lay here and point out every single little hole in your logic but that would be a total waste of time and I am sure by now you get the point.
About that time the massage lady was starting to work her way down into Sykes’s lower back with her massaging skills. At this point Sykes had the attention of a lot of people and while he had that attention he was going to continue to go forward with things.
Johnny Sykes: But since you wanted to go there and seeing as you wanted to cross that line, why don’t we take a few things into consideration. These are things that you have even mentioned yourself. You mentioned that at one point in your life you used to be like me. You used to be a high flyer. You used to be flashy. You used to do all the things that you used to do but then you stopped doing that. You changed your ways and you decided to be a more technical ring general. But I get this feeling that you didn’t do that just because you just decided it was time. I think you did it because you got old and your body wouldn’t allow you to do it. Therefore deep down inside you are just a little bit jealous of me being able to pull all that off. You are just too prideful to admit it.
He paused for a moment while he continued to enjoy his massage. It seemed that Sykes might be onto Sally and her real feelings are about him and her own abilities. Granted he could be wrong but there was a good chance he wasn’t.
Johnny Sykes: But you know what else? It doesn’t stop there. It has been quite a while since you have been on top. It’s been a hot minute since you have been the World Champion. Heck, it’s been quite some time since you were even on top of your game especially seeing as you just recently lost a tool like Mikey Callahan. It would seem like you aren’t as great as you once were and that the old age is starting to catch up to you. But I get what this Test for the Best is all about to you. You want to advance in this tournament and you want to win this entire tournament just to prove to yourself that you still got it. As much as I respect that and as much as I admire that… I have to apologize now because that just aint gonna happen my dearest Asian friend.
Sykes just looked right at the cameras when he made those comments. People were getting the feeling that he was about to finish things up and he was going to finish strong. He would make a point and that point was going to make Sally rethink her logic on everything she had said so far and that’s exactly what he wanted.
Johnny Sykes: You are facing someone that is younger. You are facing someone that is hungrier. You are facing someone that thrives of being the best. You are facing someone that wants nothing more than to finally win his first World Heavyweight Championship. You are facing someone that wants to prove that he is a main eventer and that he can be a headliner for a company. I am that man and as much as I respect you despite what you said about me. I cannot and I will not allow myself to come up short. One way or another Sally, I will win and I will go on to prove I am the best. You’ll just have to deal with it.
Massage Lady: You want happy ending now?
Johnny Sykes: Just give me the Sally Talfourd special.
With a cheeky little grin spread across his lips. Sykes took one last look at the cameras long enough to give it a wink before rolling over onto his back. Before anything could be seen the cameras cut out. That lead to a lot of people to speculate on what really happened after the cameras shut off. One could only assume that it wasn’t exactly PG friendly to say the least.
However no matter how one looked at it. Sykes was proving to Sally and all of APW while he might be a little childish, while he might not take everything as serious as he could, and while he might be a bit of a goofball. Deep down inside he loved this business and he was a serious threat no matter the circumstances. It might be time for Sally to rethink her logic or she might be getting Syked Out in front of the entire world.[/font][/size]
