So what's everyone's favorite band or singer. Personally, I like a lot of classic rock stuff. Guns N' Roses being my favorite band with Aerosmith coming in second. I like a lot of 80's hair bands as well

Deftones is my favorite, then Kid Rock usually does justice, I like all music, Rock Country, Rap, a little of everything...the rap stuf mostly older stuff, the new stuff is annoying.
I used to love Bon Jovi when I was younger but then realized them along with all other hair bands would shrink your testicles worse then roids, so inturns I forgot about the 80's all together after learning about the dangerous side effect associated with hair bands...
Jeff you probally get down on Poision too???

Rock-wise my favorite band is Queen. I have always loved those guys. Nothing beats Freddy Mercury. Sure, they're arena rock but they are rock nonetheless! No band has ever gotten close to their level. Close seconds? Dio, Huey Lewis and the News, Queens of the Stone Age, Metallica, Lacuna Coil. Favorite singer? Anita Baker. I have listened to Anita Baker since I was five...and I've been in love with Anita Baker since I was five lol! I listen to Anita Baker when I'm writing roleplays. Love songs and smooth jazz fuel my lust for cracking heads each week and Anita is the tops. Close seconds? Frank Sinatra, Michael Buble', George Michael. Eclectic lost, I know, but I am the guy whose main character is a cross-dressing maniac.

Favorite Female Singer (and all time singer on my list): Madonna. I loved the music what can I say? Bubblegum dance music but it is all good. Brilliant on her marketing, she is in the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame first shot. One of the greatest (and underappreciated) artists of the 1980's.
Favorite Male Singer: Frank Sinatra. The man's voice is like wine the music is just amazing. Wish I saw him in concert before he died. His genetic clone Harry Connick Jr, is not bad either.
Favorite Rock Band: Queen, when Freddie Mercury died of Aids in the 1980's I was devestated. The greatest voice of the 20th century. My Brother of course did not understand and mocked me for it. Years later Waynes World hit and Bohem Rhapsody hit the airways and my poser brother then liked Queen. Even though before he complained about me listening to that same stupid song over and over again that he blared on his radio years later.

Led Zepplin is still my favorite.
But I'm a huge fan of 90's grunge bands like Nirvana, Alice In Chains, The Toadies, Soundgarden, and Stone Temple Pilots.
I also find myself being into Hardcore, Screamo, and Black Metal lately... good fight music: Hatebreed, As I Lay Dying, Avenged Sevenfold, Throwdown, Cradle of Filth, Coal Chamber...
Then I like offbeat shit like Mindless Self Indulgence, Queens of The Stone Age, Weezer, and of course, The Foo Fighters...
I guess I really like anything with a basis in rock...
I'm really just rambling 'cause I just finished posting a roleplay and its almost 6 AM and I can't sleep... I'm gonna go try now though...

I'm a huge fan of alternative and hard rock, as well as some metal and most oldies. Most artists I listen to are past their prime, or have broken up, perhaps even lost their original members, but hey, I still listen to them as if they were new to me.
Alice in Chains, Eric Clapton, Foo Fighters, Incubus, Live, Mad Season, Metallica, Pantera, Pearl Jam, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Soundgarden, Tom Petty, U2.
There's plenty more, but that's the rough idea of my favorite artists/bands.

Not to unnecessarily bump and old thread, but I always enjoy these kinds of discussions, and thought I'd throw my favorites out there. I have decidedly limited tastes in music, as I only like 16 bands, but they're spread out over a few genres, though most are under the catch-all of Alternative Rock. That being said, my absolute favorite band is The Killers, with the rest of the top five being MUSE, Depeche Mode, Franz Ferdinand, and Static-X. (The last one's kind of random, but I like 'em.)

My musical taste differs in a wide array of genres. I more of a ''I like this song'' then ''I like this band''. I can only measure how much I like a particular artist or band, by how many songs of theirs I like.
Favorite bands: Aerosmith, Metallica, Red hot chilli peppers and Blink-182. The list can go on, and I'm missing some real rock classics, but meh.
Favorite rappers (my favorite genre): Immortal Technique, Diobolic, Cannabis, Nas, Jay-Z, Tupac, Biggie, Lupe Fiasco (what!?), Common, Old Kanye West, and Kid Cudi. Again, the list can go on.
^ Real hip hop, weather it's hardcore, or feel good, it's all the shit.

Frank Sinatra was a good singer, but Freddie Mercury was a probably better "all rounder". Freddie could sing anything, Frank could sing swing and oldies.
Elvis Presley was ok, but never saw the big deal personaly.
The Beatles changed music - fact.
I like a bit of everything. Hate "singers" that scream and you can't hear a fucking word they are supposed to be saying.
