The only word to describe this movie is EPIC!
I saw it today, and since I've been so excited for weeks I was worried it wouldn't deliver, but it didn't disappoint. I'm not gonna say it was a perfect movie, but it was pretty darn good. As good as TDK, I'm not sure, maybe tries to be be a mix of too many genres in one film, but it's a great finale that really connects with the whole trilogy.
There are Hollywood moments of course, but it is a Hollywood film. The quality of the performances by all of the cast is high, and I never thought anyone could top Heath Ledger's character performance as a super villain in TDK, but Tom Hardy's Bane is superbly menacing, and the fight sequences between Bane and Batman are intense, credible and give a strong sense you're actually watching two blokes actually scrapping. There are a number of 'mark out' moments for Batman comic book mythology fanboys too.
Great film. Go and watch it. I couldn't help myself applauding as the final credits rolled.
EDIT: There is a proper Kurt Noble 'mark out moment' too early in the film.

I'll be waiting until it comes out on DVD. I don't think I could possibly see it in theater's after the happenings in Aurora.

I'll still probably see it in cinemas. Only mental Geordie blokes and Taxi drivers go on mass shootings in England, and I doubt people could get a gun and riot gear in a cinema here. You have to treat a pack of Maltesers as heroin when you try and smuggle it into a film here -_-

Random shooting, happens more often than the Media reports Nation Wide. I'd worry about that like being raped in the Police Station.

I'll one-up Jesse and say it was even better the third time!
As it was mentioned earlier, The Dark Knight was a better film than TDKR, but it's still an immensely enjoyable movie! Between this and The Avengers, we got so spoiled this summer!

Finally saw it. I was definitely a big fan. At first I was really thrown off by Bane's voice, but by the end of it, I was used to it and it really fit.
What a fucking ending though.

There is an awesome video where they replaced Bane's voice with Tom Hardy's voice from Bronson. it is hilarious... I must find it.

So I'm not so uppity about this film as the rest of people it seems. Good movie, don't get me wrong but it was clear to me that they were going to try and write Batman off. Firstly Batman is a FAN of Gotham, he has NEVER turned his back on his City. So this was ehh for me regardless. Not to mention this kid cop, love the guy, good actor but if they're gonna hint at fucking Robin do it at least with a name that HAS BEEN Robin. Blake is not the name of anyone who took the Robin gimmick. Drake is one but he was a kid-kid, not some Detective.
Bane was dope, hands down fucking beastly. However his role was a crash course suicide in the end? He works for this chick, takes over Gotham ONLY to give his life so SHE can escape? Joker was better, in fact Joker from the very start of TDK was a better Villain. Who is going to argue that point? Who would argue that the Bank scene in TDK wasn't the very best intro to a Villain EVER! Bane's was alright but didn't TOUCH the Joker's playful tricks and robbery of a bank using School Buses, COME ON! Joker wasn't someone's bitch either, he was like Delikado, THE BAWSE!
They could have used more of the Catwoman and correct me if I'm wrong but this is the first Catwoman who wasn't an object of sexuality inside the suit? No close up shots, no GOOD LORD have mercy full body shots? What the fuck? What was the purpose of her role? No real background other than poor, struggling, thief but no background, no reason for her being there other than to lure Batman into a trap in which he forgave her so quickly and then disappeared with her at the end (Spoilers) and hopes she won't fall into her usual habit of using men? Hmm...I'll watch it again and see if my opinion changes, I just don't see it.
Nobody can beat two Ferries with Bombs, giving the people on the boats the option of living or dying. Nobody beats a fat guy with a cell phone in his gut that explodes. NOBODY beats a pencil disappearing act. Just isn't something I see, I'm waiting to see the new Spiderman. I watched half of it and it stood out to me. THANK GOD They remove Kirsten Dunce-Cap.

I'll agree, they weren't going to be able to find a villain to compete with the Joker though. Bane is the next best thing.
I agree with you though, the end of his story sucked. He was badass, didn't give a shit about anybody or anything, he just wanted destruction, then it's some bitch that controls him? Boo! Women ruin everything.

Great movie but turned off by the propaganda all over it. Hmm, guess you can't escape that these days.

Bah propaganda, just ignore it. It's not worth my time. You know who I vote for? No one. Because no matter what the left will argue with the right, the right will argue with the left and no one will be right or wrong.
The only difference between this movie and others is that when I was in the theater, if anyone stood up or came in late, I was on the defensive. I made sure there wasn't one son of a bitch with any crazy ideas in there.

I'll worry about the propaganda... while you worry about being hit by lightening the next time you step outside your door - to enter a car - in which you grip the wheel tightly in hopes you don't crash every morning.
Seriously, get over the hype people. Even in this movie was filled with terrorism propaganda - maybe not propaganda but combined with every other terrorism plot stuffed in films the shit adds up subconsciously. Chill out, there aren't mad men or terrorists under every chair or around every corner. The media has everyone paranoid as fuck and if it wasn't for them making every crazed shooter some cult hero, we wouldn't have to deal with copycats after the fact.

Yeah I hit up the movies to see (shut up, no clowning) Brave (with my son) and thought to myself if someone wanted to make a statement, shoot up a kids movie. Then I realized that I'm not some wack job who thinks because something happens once, it'll happen 100 times over now. I farted and nobody flinched.
