So I went and bought White Knight Chronicles II the other day after work. I buy my games at Gamestop even though I work at Best Buy. We don't come close to having the same used game selection and I pay for my membership at Gamestop. Anyways, for under 20 bucks you get WKCII but also built into that disk is WKC Remastered so it's both 1 and 2 of the game on one disk for less than 20. Game Saves transfer as does level, money, equipment.
This game thus far has a little bit of everything. You have a Guild to do Bounty Hunting for as a side quest. Kind of like FF12 I think it was. Just better and more fun when you've gotten use to the fighting. It does take a minute to get use to that but very cool when you get use to it.
HERE is my negative to the game. You make a character, pretty detailed but you are NOT the Main Character of the game. There are times when you're not even seen or mentioned in cutscenes. Your "Avatar" also does not get a Knight. Which also sort of sucks but the Main Character, all companion characters are playable and customizable. You can change their weapon specials, their clothes and what magic if any that they learn.
Weapon Classes are plentiful. You have Sword (One Hand with or without Shield), Longsword (Think Cloud from FF7, big two handed swords), Axe (2 Handed), Spear (One Handed with or without Shield), Bow, and Staff. Every style can learn all magic.
Apart from the not being "important" to the story, it's a great story so far. I'm still playing part 1 and I'm hooked like I'm playing FFX for the first time. The story is very heavy and the Bosses are cool and tough.
Knights are like Mega Zords from Power Rangers just not as big. They are ancient tools that are empowered by souls. These souls pick the user that can access the Knights and once chosen, it's yours until you die. Very cool fighting with these, I switch to the Main Character and play as him to use them and it's simple and an easy transition.
I'll update this tomorrow with more.
