Sitting in the center of the ring, the area the crowd usually cheered from was unoccupied. He sat how his teachers usually requested, ‘criss cross apple sauce’, facing the ceiling. There was no reason to ponder about the many loses he had, all he wanted was that opportunity and the chance to shine to the dozens that liked Krunk. His first teacher, the one who convinced Krunk to wrestle, and was a great wrestler himself.
Another male suddenly appeared, walking down the metallic ramp, a clank noise could be heard by each step his mentor took down the ramp. A wide toothy grin similar to one Krunk consistently wore whenever he was down. The teacher, former wrestler, now a professional teacher, yet only had one disciple in his whole lifetime. That was Krunk, after the rookie graduated High School he was confounded by the many career choices he had and couldn’t decide until he attended his first wrestling event. That moment that changed his whole life, it was then when he decided to become a wrestler.
“Well you’ve been having some rough times, Meltdown keeps pushing and putting you in some of the craziest matches but you kept getting put down and screwed over. It’s pretty funny if you ask me, hahahahaha!” His teacher laughed; meanwhile Krunk got up, emotionally agitated by his laughing.
“How is this even funny Julian, of course I’ve been put through a bunch of matches that could have possibly drafted me to the big shows? I was even put on the PVP, one of the very few rookies to ever be put in there and I screwed that up well. They even put me in the biggest match I’ve ever been in, against that big dude and the North American Champion. If I can win this match, I might be able to prove to everyone in that roster that I’m the biggest threat in Meltdown.”
“First off, ever since you left the school early, you did have talent and you were the most hard-working student I had, you rushed yourself over to Professional Wrestling without even completing my training. It must be one of the reasons why you’ve been having such a bad losing streak since entering the scene. Now it might not be that cause I believe that you were good enough to keep going without me. You were forgetting one vital lesson all this time.”
“What might that be?”
“You always notice things about others, ignoring their weaknesses but looking more into their strengths. It’s the wrong mindset you set up for yourself every match, partially. It quite correct to go into a match with the plan as you leaving it as the victor, but doubting yourself is a no no. You must understand that its not all about the strength of body, but strength of mind. Never believe that any man in the Meltdown roster is better then you just because he got a win over you. It’s not all about the wins and losses, its about having putting everything on the line and performing your best. Show them your undying will and potential to be the number one star and steal the show!”
“Man I’ve forgotten many things from those days. Remember back in the days when I had to do all those chores, and I just thought you were playing around with me until I actually realized that it was training. I cherished those days.”
“You know, I’ve told you numerous times in class that you’re supposed to study up one your opponent before you even decide to fight them. It’s pretty bad getting in the ring with one of them and not knowing anything about their capabilities and history. It amazes me that you’re making such mistakes like these. It’s probably the whole reason why you’re losing. You’re too cocky; I thought your dreams were winning every titles there ever was in wrestling.”
“The first step is the North American Championship, but with that stupid loss in that triple threat match with that Italian piece of shit and his strength!”
“There! Didn’t I tell you it’s all about the strength of mind, not about what a measly new guy can do? He is just playing with your mind, don’t you understand that yet?”
“Yeah I kind of do, but what’s gonna make any difference about this week. I pretty much am horrible at triple threat matches usually getting screwed over by one of the competitors.”
“If your still acting like that, I shouldn’t really give you this”
Julian put his hand in his inner jacket pocket, revealing a notebook and flashed it over Krunk’s face.
“What could that be?”
“A book that contains all my moves I used from back in the day, every single one of my dangerous moves, you might be a little taller than me but these moves will help you and maybe complete your style. You got this whole empty ring you can practice in to, but this wasn’t the main purpose of me coming.”
“What?”
“I’m here to inform you about your next match, which will be the biggest match you’ll ever have. You must be prepared for this one. It’ll be a match against the Italian monster, Michael Salieri, and the North American Champion, Micheal Lively. You already have a feel of what Micheal is capable of but you haven’t seen the full extent of his abilities, I have folders and tapes of both of these men in action. You must be ready to face them and know every single thing about them.”
“Another triple threat, but these time with the champ?!?! Damn I might be lucky but I’ll have to bring one hundred percent in that match. Thanks Julian for coming back and reminding me about everything. I think this time I might be able to win this match.”
“Remember, strength of body is nothing compared to strength of mind.”
With one nod from, the scene faded to black.
Scene opens up to Krunk working in one of Canada’s gym. Clutching one of the weights before lifting them, raising them above his head before repeating. Scurrying over to Krunk, Eric seemed to have had something urgent to say.
“Did you hear about your match? This is your time to shine and prove to everybody in that roster your something they should all fear!”
“Yeah I did hear about it, but it’s no problem, I’m just going to perform my best cause I fail to keep my ass kicking promises.”
“Damn Krunk! You’ve changed, what the hell happened to your ass kicking grin and the happy you. You’ve turned pretty serious.”
“Oh sorry I bumped into Julian back in Seattle, he taught me many things and without him I wouldn’t even be wrestling.”
“Oh that’s the reason why you started wrestling, that first teacher your always mumbling about.”
“Yeah that’s him. Anyways was that all you had to deliver or was there something else you wanted to tell me. Cause I can tell you I think I’m ready to fight two Michael’s.”
“Also that your former tag partner, or whatever you want to call it, got attacked!”
Dropping the weights he was carrying the instant he heard that he got attacked. Turning to face Eric, giving him his full undivided attention for what he was going to say next.
“Do you know who did it, Eric?”
“Yeah, Mannie confirmed it himself; it was one of Micheal Lively’s men, the North American Champion’s men. Seems like he took out Mannie, maybe thought of him as a threat to his title or something like that.”
“Damn! I’ll have to get Lively back for that. I’ve been pretty guilty about our PVP match that we had, and I got eliminated to early. Ever since then I knew I had to do something to repay him back for not getting mad at me about it. God damn it, never knew Lively would ever stoop so low. Calls himself some sort of god and does stupid things like this. We have to do something about this!”
“Well don’t you have a match with him in a couple of days, maybe if you give him the ass kicking he deserves you might be able to win this. Bring out a can of whoop ass all over Lively and Salieri on Monday night. I know you can do it, and what about those kids you met back in Seattle too, the ones that said they liked you, and want you to defeat the Italian Monster. This is your only chance to do it, it’s rare to be booked with the same opponent twice, so utilize this opportunity.”
“It looks as if I have to give them both my best if I ever think about ending. I might lose the match, but I can’t just give up now. Even if I do lose, I’m about to bring some serious pain to both Lively and Salieri, if it’s the last thing I do.”
“Okay, then get to working and preparing yourself, mind and body.”
The scene returns to a restaurant, filled with many people, quite busy for a restaurant. It was near the arena, a arena where he was meeting no other then Hannah Storm, she had been recently having many interviews with her. Krunk simply thought that she might have heard some rumors and wanted to cement the claims or find out that they were merely false.
“Kunk, it looks as if you have lost one again on Meltdown. Luckily for you though, you get a chance to be against Lively and Salieri in the biggest match you’ve ever been a part of. How do you feel and how have you prepared yourself for a match up like this?”
“All I can say is that I feel that I’m 90% ready for this match and I’ve been studying on both of my opponents and I’ve got this under control.”
“Well this match might put you on the map if you win it. What will you decide to do about it?”
“Well if I win this match I’ll just try and continue to go on with wins until I win something big, maybe if I win a few more matches will I request to become a contender and fight to get the title Lively’s holding. My main objective is to win every title APW has which means I’ll think of this one has nothing more than a mere stepping stone to the others.”
“Well your former tag team partner had been recently attacked by one of Lively’s men. Will you take this match in some sort of vengeful way?”
“Well I’ve been thinking about it but I’m trying to keep myself ready and prepared for anything to come at me. Its pretty bad that Mannie attacked but I can’t let it shake me, I have to go in there with the intentions of bringing pain to both of them, which I seemed to fail at with Salieri.”
“Okay, well this is my last question for the night. If you lose, what do you think will happen to you?”
“That’s something I truly cannot answer unlike the other question. I know something will happen to me, be it bad or good, I’ll just pray for that moment and hopefully it’ll come at the right time, or maybe not. I just keep going until nothing. Cause there’s nothing on Meltdown that can keep me from competing!”
Hannah Storm nodded; meanwhile the server came around with their food, the scene slowly fading to black once more.
The scene suddenly opens up to a pub, where Krunk is sitting on a table with the bartender behind him mixing drinks and serving him alcoholic beverages. A wide toothy grin on his face is seen, yet you can notice a serious Krunk staring into the camera.
“Well it seems its finally time to share with the world the many things I studied on Lively and Salieri. I’ve tried to prepare myself in so many ways for this match to work but all else seems to fail with this. I’ve done everything and even learned a few moves for this match up. Now you should already know that my two next opponents are two of the craziest wrestlers but there both douchebags. Completely, especially how most assume I’ve been destroyed already but I’m just coming even harder than before. There’s a reason why I’m replacing Mannie unlike the other few in that roster who have been there longer than me. Johnny Diamond sees potential in something upcoming and new, something that I have failed to notice since my losing streak. I’ve only one match since coming here, and yes it was against a girl but hey she was pretty talented, but that’s beside the point. Johnny Diamond knows I can win this, and yes I probably can.”
“Now Salieri, ever since that win you pulled over me, I’ve started to doubt myself, and even that loss was bringing me down, but I bumped into my teacher. He told me there’s something I need to change about myself and it looks like I did. You’re lacking in something Salieri, and that’s strength of mind. Maybe if you strengthened that then your big ego you might have gotten somewhere but hey, you’re still winning I don’t care, but I’ll bring that first L to you this upcoming Monday. Don’t expect to be leaving there as the victor cause you should know I’ll be doing everything in my power to stop you from ever doing that. Don’t even think you’ll be focused on Lively just cause he’s holding the title. You’ll have to get through me, and I’ll stop you.”
“Now I had a friend of mine get something for me. This something contained how you wrestled how you played the game and even your history to. Well damn I just have to say your garbage and I don’t understand how I lost to you. At least I know a few fun facts about you, if you want to call them fun anyways. It looks like you’ve been pretty much a disappointment to your whole family, even that fat Uncle T dude your hanging with hates you deep inside. Hey though, at least all for your family is pretty much garbage, there’s nothing good about them and everything about you is shit. The only bright thing I can say that’s anywhere near good is that little wrestling brand your homeboy Uncle T had. The only reason why that place was successful was because of the homies like Jason Kash and Johnny Knuckles. The whole place went downhill after that and I pretty much understand that you were the worst in that company and had a shitty record. Hey, everyone goes through that phase, but it isn’t no phase for you, you’re going to be rolling with L’s for the rest of your career when I’m done with you, understand me? Or do I have to speak in Italian for you to understand?
“Figlio di puttana, non c'è modo in inferno che la vostra vittoria, e voi e la vostra famiglia può spingere tutti i soldi che voi ragazzi avete i vostri culi! I just said ‘Motherfucker, there's no way in hell that your winning, and you and your whole family can shove all that money you guys have up your asses’ so now you understand where I’m coming from Salieri?”
“Now Lively, don’t even think that I forgot about you cause I’m about to take that title away from you soon if Mannie fails to do it anytime soon. Now your stupid eccentric ass is showing off balls for some odd reason that no one knows about. You and your circle jerk you call guards can try and come to attack me but don’t think about it. Cause you already know that I can kick there asses with one hand tied against my back. You think that thing you did to Manie phases anyone here, no! Cause you gotta be ready for every single moment in this wrestling business cause everybody in it is a stupid bitch and will do some shit like you and your crew does. Now I was hoping for your crew to jump me but it seems that isn’t happening.”
“So we all know you’re the first grand slam champion, it proves your talented but your bitchass first has to understand hard work beats talent any day. I liked you better on Overdrive but know you’ve brought yourself down all the way down to Meltdown. You holding the NA Championship belt is not brag worthy, even if it seems that way it’s not cause your garbage and you’re just using that experience you got to beat the new talent coming in through here. You were actually better over on the big shows and you’ve purposely overlooked a promotion up to the bigger shows just s you can fight newbies? Seems like your pretty much nothing more then ass, and your breath smells like it to.”
“Hey Just want to let you know both right now that I’ve been going hard since coming here and I’m not stopping now. Fuck you both, I’ll guarantee you that I’ll be going in hard.”
Waving off the camera, the scene slowly faded to black.
