Every child growing up has some sort of hero, a pillar of the community whom they idolize, a favourite rock star, a sports star hell even the kid who gets laid more than them; but deep down they will always hold a secret. Some shout it from the rooftops, where as some kep it to themselves, a ‘closet nerd’ as some would call them. No matter who you were, no matter where you were going you had heard of Superman, Spiderman, Batman, Captain America, the list is endless, everyone knew who a superhero was.
For some it was reading the comic book and passing it to one side, for others they did everything in their power to recreate scenes from the books, from the films, anything they could do to separate them from society, the same society who turned their backs on people who were just trying to protect them.
Its not crazy to want to be a superhero, It's crazy not wanting to be a superhero.
So why all the hate?
Why all the animosity?
Some people have a job to do and thats what we intend to do. Its time to hate on the haters because when all is said and done and we are no longer protecting the streets don't come running back to us for help.

Monday 10th September
Outside the Arena
Toronto, Ontario, Canada
Behind the arena for tonight's edition of Monday Night Meltdown there is a commotion as more security are called to the back gates, from the sounds of the radio communication the guards and the arena is under a full blown attack. As a few of the guards arrive at the backdoor they stop in their tracks as their jaws hit the floor.
In amazement there are two quite small figures being circled by the security guards that were first on the scene. One is dressed in a black and red lycra suit and the other looks like he has wrapped himself in shedded snake skin he has found in the desert. One of the guards who has just arrived looks confused at the situation and tries to signal one of the other guards.
“Bill!” The first security guard shouts out to a fellow colleague. “BILL!!” his voice gets louder as he tries to get the other man’s attention. One of the guards, assumed to be Bill turns around to acknowledge the guard. “Is this really necessary? Why are there six of us here for these two guys who are early for Halloween?” One of the guards laugh, but Bill keeps his stance and his eyes firmly placed on the two dressed up gentlemen.
“Dave, honestly, one of these dudes bit me when I asked him for his pass” Wearily, Bill moves around still circling the two guys in the middle of four guards. “He refused to show it, and when I went to call for back up he bit me, the slimy little git!” this is met with a few jeers from the other guards.
“Bill, do you even know who they are? I assume they have some business being here, they can't just be two months early for trick and treating. You didn’t have a twinkie in your hand at the time did you?” Dave chuckles to himself at the joke and moves forward towards the two guys. “Lads, look here, we don't have any candy here for you but if you like we can ta---” Dave is interrupted by the kid in red and black lycra.
“Its not you candy we want you idiot, we're here for our first day on the job. If you had actually bothered asking us instead of attacking us then you would have known.” he directs the comments at Dave the security guard as he is about to be pounced on by one of the other guards he spins around hanging his leg out and connecting with the guards shin.
“See you Jackoff, its you guys attacking us, we are just protecting ourselves.” The kid in red sounds angry in his response as all four of the guards move in There are too many of them to hold back any longer and they are restrained by the guards. “GET OFF ME YOU TOOL!” the kid in red is kicking and screaming as Dave approaches the duo.
“See, its not so hard to be polite is it?” Dave chuckles once more as his face gets redder. “Now here for you ‘first day on the job’? I think the costume store is just around the corner.” a few of the guards laugh as Dave reaches out his arm to touch the kid in the snake skin. As quick as he does, the kid goes to bite his hand.
“Hissssssssss””
As quick as Dave reached out his hand he pulls it back and shakes it off due to that close call.
“Control your boy son, otherwise we're going to have to detain you” a once jovial Dave is now starting to lose his temper.
“Thats your fault for touching him, Snakeboy doesn't like to be touched.” says the kid in black and red.
“Snakeboy? and who are you? The Red Devil?” Dave once again finds his sense of humour.
“The Red Crow” the kid says with anger in his voice. “CROW, not devil”
“Someones a little touchy aren't we today?” responds Dave as he rubs his chin.
“You would be as well if you were being held for trying to do your job. No wonder people hate authority if this is what we get. Don't worry sir, I'll be sure to get you fired when we can actually speak to someone with intelligence.” The Red Crow begins to wiggle.
“So why the costumes? if you were here to work, surely all of this would be in a gym bag or shipped in with the rest of the costume department. You turn up to get ready, you don't come ready.” questions Dave quickly losing his patience.
“This isn't a costume, its a way of life.” responds Crow as he still tries to wriggle free.
“And I suppose you are protecting the city? If you are really super heroes wheres your car? wheres your nifty gadgets?” Dave is full of questions as his radio crackles in the background.
“We don't need those things, we don't need to protect anyone, not after California screwed us over---” Crow is interrupted by Dave once more as he continues his quest for answers.
“Well you are a long way from California now Dorothy. Forget all of those, I need to see some passes or we are detaining you.” responds Dave firmly.
“If your goons would release me for a moment, I'll show you.”
Dave looks at the two guards holding the Red Crow and nods to them indicating them to release him for a moment. They do and the Red Crow bends down and begins to fumble around his ankle.
“Will this do for you?” with that said the Red Crow jumps in the air smashing down punching the ground or at least appears to be doing do. There is a loud bang as smoke begins to fill the surrounding area. A lot of coughing and spluttering can be heard as the guards fall backwards. As the smoke begins to clear there are only guards on their knees in the vicinity and the duo seem to have disappeared. The backstage door is swinging closed as a few of the guards start to gain their composure.
“WTF---?!” Screams Dave. “I don't care what you do, find them, I want them back here now!”

---MEANWHILE,
ON THE OTHER SIDE OF TOWN...
A TV monitor shows what has just happened outside of the arena, the smoke is clearing the air as the guards look around in amazement. A large figure dressed in black lurks in the shadows as he cackles at what has gone on. Reaching forward to switch the monitor he enables a GPS tracking system which shows up two red dots slowly moving through what looks to be like a building.
The light from the monitor shines on his face revealing a dark black mask. He reclines back in his seat watching the two red dots on the screen as they continue to move.
“That my boys, now seek my revenge...”
The man begins to cackle loudly as he seems impressed with what has just transpired.

---MOMENTS LATER
Back inside the arena we catch up with the crime fighting duo as they are lurking in the shadows trying not to get caught by the guards who had detained them earlier. Snakeboy comes out from behind some crates as he tries to make a break down the corridor.
“WOAH! not just yet.”
The red crow holds out his arm holding back Snakeboy just in time as two guards come crashing past them not even noticing them there. Waiting for them to pass The red crow breathes a sigh of relief.
“See, that was close, you nearly got us busted. Stick with me kid or we are going to get caught, you know what the boss said.”
Before Snakeboy can respond, the Red Crow gets in there first.
“Exactly! Now lets get to where we are meant to be and we can take care of the guards later.”
The duo slowly move from behind the crates into the corridor checking both ways for on coming guards. The choose to head towards what looks like the ringside area when a voice shouts out from behind them.
“Hey guys!” cries out a female voice, softly spoken. “What time do you call this? You were meant to be here hours ago so I could set you up for your pre match interviews.” the female wanders towards them with a smile on her face. “At Least you are ready and raring to go, I like the costumes”
The Red Crow tilts his head. “You mean you like our clothes.” he says scowling. “We would have been here sooner if it wasn't for security, it seems that they don't like people that aren't normal here in Canada.”
“Ha!” Laughs the lady. “Anyway, I’m Amy one of the APW reps helping out here today. I have been asked to show you around the arena and get you ready for a promotional shoot before the show tonight. I see as you are ready you guys don't need to go into wardrobe.” as Amy says this Snakeboy interrupts.
“Hissssssss”
“Oh you guys, you crack me up. I can't wait to see more of you tonight. Anyway, if you follow me I will more than happily give you the guided tour and take you where you need to be. If you have any questions feel free to ask. Now if you'd like to come this way.” Amy motions at the duo and begins to lead them down the corridor. Sounds of guards can be heard in the background as they cautiously follow her hoping not to be caught. Not that it matters as they are meant to be here today anyway.

---SOMETIME LATER
PROMO TIME
Backstage the duo have been left by themselves with a camera and a backdrop. Amy has instructed them that they need to shoot a promotional video for the website or something like that. Not really used to being in front of the camera they begin to strike poses before they begin to speak.
“So this is what it all comes down to, the wrestling world. You see Snakeboy and I aren't wrestlers, we were protectors. We protected Los Angeles until we were banished for causing problems. Just because we didn't like donuts and didn't follow the rules we were outcast and why we are here I have no idea, isn’t that right Snakeboy...” The Red Crow looks over at Snakeboy who flexes his muscles and looks at the camera
“Hissssssss” Snakeboy just hisses and sticks his tongue out through his mask.
“Precisely. We wouldn't be here if it wasn't for the head honcho who approached us and hire us for his revenge. We have never seen past his mask, but we know for sure he feels burned. For some reason authority figures despise us, but he doesn’t, he shows us the respect we deserve and taught us everything he knows, and if that doesn't mean bad news for you guys here in APW then I don’t know what is.”
“Snakeboy and I aren't natural wrestlers, we are are fighters and thats what we will do here in APW, fight to survive. Already we have had problems, the guards refusing to let us into the building but as you can see we are here and we will not give up. Our Journey starts right here and we are ready to set Meltdown alight.”
“Coming here today has been horrendous so I feel sorry for our opponent tonight, M&M.” Snakeboy leans over and whispers something in Red Crows ear. “No Snake, not like the peanut ones, you can't eat them they are real people.” Crow shakes his head and continues.
“They may be experienced and they may be looking to step up the ranks, but they aren't us. What cities turned there back on you? How many times have you been in trouble with authority? Exactly it doesn't rub with us. We aren't here to put on a show, we aren't here to win the fans over we are just wanting respect and it doesn't matter if we earn it by winning or earn it by hurting you. Tell them Snake.” Red Crow moves to one side and looks over at Snakeboy urging him to talk.
“...” Snakeboy is interrupted by the Red Crow once more.
“You see, a man of few words but he gets his point across. Snake doesn't like you as much as I don't, and we don't even know you. We have no idea what you are about and we intend to keep it that way. We are here for business and business only. Our Master has commanded that we refrain from doing good and commence on the journey to gain the tag team titles, something he thinks is rightfully his and we are the right people for the job.” The red crow pauses as there seems to be some noise in the background.
“You see, people seem to have a problem with us, the way we dress, the way we look, but that is none of anyones business except ours. It didn't bother you when we were protecting you, so why should it matter now. We are just two guys who took a wrong turn in life and we are looking to make it right and if that means we have to beat these two dudes in M&M----” Snakeboy leans over again cupping his mouth and whispers into Crows ear.
“Really? One of the dudes is a chick?” A smile forms on his face.
“Hey, how you doin’?” Crow is met with a swift left hand to the back of the head. “OUCH!” Crow lets out a scream. You want to watch what you're doing. Be may be bro’s but don't think I wont hit you!” Crow rubs the back of his head as he looks like he has lost his place. “Right, if you're so clever, you finish this.” Crow walks out of camera sight leaving Snakeboy by himself. Snake boy looks around as if he needs a prompt and shrugs his shoulders. Pulling out a pair of nunchucks from his pants he begins to spin them around and lets out a noise.
“Hisssssss.” His looks are blocked by his masks but he just carries on spitting and hissing. A few moments pass when a loud scream is heard from the background.
“SHIT!!!!! RUUNNNNNNNN!!” The Red Crow comes back onto the camera view and he bundles past snakeboy. He turns to his left and before he has chance to move is tackled by two guards from earlier knocking him to the floor.
