There lay the rookie on a hospital bed unconscious, caused no other then the “Italian Monster” after Krunk was capable and somehow pulled the win over the champion and the new Italian giant. Well if looked closely, he would have won the match earlier with his 450 splash but Lively distracted the ref in time, prolonging the inevitable. Though this wasn’t the reason why he was laid out in a hospital bed, with only close people that surrounded him at the moment. Salieri was a sore loser, proven by the actions he took when he understood that he lost the match to Krunk. The high-flying rookie’s memory was blurry and couldn’t remember most of what happened on last night’s Meltdown.
The two stood around waiting for Krunk to awaken from his slumber. On his left side stood Jelena, a childhood friend that heard of the accident and rushed over to Canada. On his right was no other then Eric, Krunk’s childish trainer that stood by him everywhere he went, they had a friendship that many didn’t understand. Krunk in total only had about three friends in his whole life. They all separated once they graduated, yet Jelena was able of finding his current location.
Squirming in his bed, the rookie’s eyes opening to see both of his visitors. Confounded by the slight pain he was feeling and not remembering anything that happened since the beginning of Meltdown. The rookie turning side to side to scan the area with his eyes, before looking back into Eric’s eyes.
“Eric, where are we, and what happened?”
“You got injured last night, and were in a hospital near the border between Washington and Vancouver BC.”
“Well your friend told you half of the story, and I’ll just give you the gist of what happened. Your triple threat match between both Michael Salieri and Michael Lively ending pretty dangerously. The only good part about last night was how you defeated them both in the match. Lively connected a Big Boot to Salieri causing him to fall out of the ring. I think Lively forgot about you and wasn’t aware of your presence till you came out of nowhere with a neckbreaker. You utilized the opportunity perfectly, giving you enough time to get to the top rope and connect with that Quick Surgery! You shocked everybody with that move and got the pinfall! Then that stupid big guy, Salieri attacked you and Lively!”
Placing his hand over his head, Krunk groaned in pain. Leaning up from his former laid out position, he glanced over to Jelena before gazing back down on the ground. Jelena took a step forward attempting to comfort him, but was hesitant, and decided not to.
“Eric, could you give us some alone time, we have to talk about something, if it’s okay with you?”
“Of course!” Eric answered, walking out of the room, leaving them both alone.
“Jelena, I thought I’d never see you again. I just thought we would never meet again! I heard that you had a scholarship to a University in England! What brings you all the way back here?”
“Germaine, don’t you remember that we used to go to those wrestling events that occasionally happened in our town. All three of us use to watch all the old dudes from back in the day wrestle, with their crazy moves. I noticed the look in your eyes when we used to go, how you loved every time your favorite wrestler touched your hand and scream like a little girl about it!”
“It was fun when we were kids, there were no problems. That reminds me, how’s Robs?”
“Well, since you’ve left to pursue your dreams, he never had any and wanted to party all his life. He recently just went to jail for assaulting a police officer! His antics were getting more dangerous every single day, after I left, he dropped out of college.”
“What!?!? Robs was the coolest and the smartest in our crew, how did he turn out like that? Man was like a brother to me, damnit! Maybe if I stayed longer, things would have been different. Maybe he could have been here right now to if I stayed longer!”
“Don’t blame anything on yourself; Robert is doing this to himself. He never did have any goals besides graduating high school; he’s probably angered that we left him all alone in Shoreline.”
“Robs was a homie, and he turned out like this. This is horrible, is there anything we can do?”
“I don’t really know, all I heard was that he got arrested after he assaulted a police officer. Well the police officer most likely provoked Robs, you remember how they were, right? Heartless men, and did rarely anything to help the people, the whole place was screwed up.”
“The only happy memories from that place were Shoreline, but hey what have you’ve been doing? We haven’t seen each other for about two whole years, all I know is that you ran off to England with that scholarship.”
“Well, I’ve been there for two years, just completed my second year. Majoring in Economics, pretty hard class, you would probably be whining if you went to school over there, its way harder than the states. All I’ve been doing is studying, and I made a couple of friends over there as well.”
“Damn, so you came out here all the way for me?”
“Actually, I was here in Canada for vacation, living at my uncles for now. I’ve been a fan of APW for such a long time now, until I realized that you joined there federation. I was watching it last night when I saw how you got attacked by Salieri, and then a team of medic’s put you on a stretcher. Your friends over at the office doesn’t give out private information, but luckily for me I bumped into no other then your trainer Eric. He believed that I was your friend and led me all the way here.”
“This business is pretty dangerous, this is just a sign. It means I’ll have to come even harder next match. No problem, Salieri will get something more painful than what happened to Lively and I. He’s gonna be crying when I’m done with him and whoever the hell I’m facing next week.”
“Clearly you’re in pain, stop hallucinating! Your win was just luck if you look at it, and you were there at the right moment, it happens a lot. The next match will prove if you’re not a fluke and you’re really something that Meltdown should fear.”
“You’ll see! I’ll dedicate my next match to you and I’ll give everyone in the roster the ass whooping they deserve. Especially all those that looked down on me.no one in that god damn company is my friend, and I’m willing to make all of them bleed. If I win next week’s match, you have to admit to me that I’m actually good, deal?”
“Okay, hopefully you screw up!”
Jelena laughed, leaving the room due to her time running out. Eric scurried in right through the ajar door, with a wide toothy grin as if he had good news. A sigh of relief escaped Krunk’s lips, shaking his head nervously in anticipation of the news.
“Been such a long time, Robs got arrested and Jelena is at University. All I can do is wrestle to my hearts extent, and go get that title for all my friends.”
“Germaine is it me or are you the luckiest man alive. You get a chance to become number one contender for the North American Championship; you’re in the main event again! You even get a chance to get your revenge on Salieri that big fool is in this match! You’ll be fighting two giants, the other one being Shadow. The hard part is that this match ain’t an ordinary match, its steel cage match.”
“Damn, the GM put me up against two big guys again, god damn Meltdown and these big assholes. By the way, I’ve never seen a damn steel cage match before, what the hell are the rules?”
“Well there’s two ways you can win this match, one way is escaping the big cage but that isn’t a really easy if you look at the size of the cage and two giants on your jock that won’t be letting you do anything, and two is by pinfall or submission. I already have trained with you and I’m gonna tell you right now that there is no way in hell you’re going to make any of these guys submit. You don’t even have any submission moves, so you gotta pin one of these big guys or escape that big ass cage.”
“This is pretty much another crazy ass match; Johnny Diamond is always about entertaining the people, which he obviously does with these god damn main event matches. Now I’ll have to utilize that strength of mind Julian taught me about, and use my mind to outsmart them with tactics. It’s just another battlefield, which brings nothing more than a slight change in the plan.”
“If you win this, you get to face Michael Lively at One Night in Hell at the Tokyo Dome with the North American Championship on the line. Ever since you won this match you’ve been buzzing, everyone back in Washington is cheering, they all want you to get that title and yank it from Lively’s waist. He’s nothing more than garbage chilling around with his circle jerk to do his dirty work. Use all that stress and pain that Salieri brought on you and channel it into this match. If you do this properly I know you can completely grab the win once again.”
“Looks like your making this a must win match. Your thinking like how I used to, it’s that type of thinking that brought me all those losses. I was lucky enough to see Julian, he was the one led me on the proper path. It’s the reason why he was successful in the ring; he never cared about all those physical advantages that they held over him, he was thinking differently and one step ahead of his opponents. It was that type of thinking that I took with me into the match, using openings and there weaknesses against them. Even the champ couldn’t have stopped me, it proves that I hard work beats talent any day. I’ll just perform at my peak and hopefully the match goes my way. If god accepts my prayers and I just keep going, I know I can make it. There are only a few people that truly believe in me, and I have to show them that I’m capable of winning the big ones!”
“Well I heard that you now wanted files contained your opponent’s history and tapes of them performing, got them all ready for you to study once you’re ready to leave this place.”
“Man, I’m ready to leave this place and start preparing myself for the biggest match I’ve ever had. Let’s go!”
Eric brought out the tapes and files containing information on his opponents before leaving the hospital room. The scene burst into static after Eric left.
The scene opens up to Krunk being in a locker room of a large gym. Many sweating men passing by in the background and Krunk half-naked in a towel covering his bottom half. Large lockers that were set behind him locked up, the scent of body odor and sweat filled the room. Leaning on one of the blue rough lockers, wearing a pair of shades that concealed his eyes and a wide toothy grin clearly visible on his face.
“I’ve been working way too hard to show up at the bar and do this. I have no time for that so it seems better that I should do this right here at the men’s locker room. Well, I’ve been going through a new training regimen that helped me completely pull a win over some great wrestlers. I’m not still clear if my last win was a fluke or an actual win but hey, all I believe is that I can win shit. Now it seems like Johnny Diamond has a lot of confidence in me now because of that match. Putting me up against two dumb giant apes, and you gotta admit, there pretty hairy. Looks like they both came outta the zoo. Were in a steel cage Salieri, so hopefully you’re fully prepared for what I’m bringing to the ring! Shadow, you’re really retarded, and I’ll go into it deeper later. Salieri, there’s nowhere to run so you better got some sort of plan to beat me. Hey I bet your just another one of those pussies and probably made an alliance with Shadow to hurt me. I wouldn’t be surprised, it’s not like I trust anyone in APW. You’re all enemies trying to stop the Krunk train from functioning, and I’m here to defend the train. Especially since this challenge will be harder than ever, locking me with two of the biggest guys on Meltdown. Shadow is supposedly acting like a good guy but people show there true faces during situations like these, where I expect to break you down into what you truly are.”
“Hello Shadow, you seem to be one of the chill guys on Meltdown, who doesn’t make any types of bitch moves. You make yourself look innocent to others, for reasons I don’t know, maybe you’re just truly another good guy. Yet I just gotta feeling you’re like our friend Salieri, or maybe I’m just being paranoid. Well just your ape image kinda freaks me out and makes me think twice about even touching you. So I’m thinking like I should just strike you with my feet cause that seems cleaner. Well in this match up, it looks as if you’re the most experienced being in the business since 2009. Your friend Slade too is a pretty good wrestler and after watching a few tapes of you perform I’ve decided that your good yourself. There are a few flaws about you that I just got to let off my chest now, you are retarded. I mean, I was watching the PPV after I left, you left me shocked. How do you lose the title the same day you get it, you only held the title for thirty minutes max. That’s pretty sad, well your used to tag team shit. This isn’t 2009; you don’t have any Overdrive title, your shit in 2012. Your homie Slade isn’t in your corner isn’t going to assist you or anything like that. No one gives a fuck about you and your friend Slade getting screwed outta healthcare or shit like that, this isn’t politics, its wrestling!”
“No more bullshit, you gotta understand, everyone who enters that steel cage is going to try and leave it as as the victor. Something that many cannot do, and now since winning that match last week I’ve gone big. I don’t want it to end, I’m hungry for gold, and I gotta take you out next week or I’ll be making the biggest mistake of my life. I’ve studied everything about you, memorizing the moves you use in the ring. The ones I should avoid, the ones I should take, the precautions I’m taking to win this is pretty big. I don’t want to hear about your life story, only the important shit and you recent streak, pulling wins over new talent. Preying on newbies like another Michael Lively, you disgust me.”
“Yo Salieri, what you did last week is punishable by death, you have broken Law Six of the Book Of Krunk. Never assault Krunk, no matter what. Now I’ve been trying to hold in all this anger I have towards you but hey I just can’t, you know how it’s been and even then, I can’t stop thinking about fighting. Getting another chance with you in the ring so I can get to fight you once more. I won’t lay judgment out on you during the match, I will maybe this week or next week, or maybe any week. You don’t just leave freely like girl when you break a law. Justice will be served for what you did to me after the match. You’re just surprised you got beat by the one you once called ‘filler’. You’re starting to understand that your slowly losing your mind, piece by piece, when you enter the ring with me. I can’t repeat what I’ve told you before, your family hates you, your shit, you hate your family as well. You’re still rolling with this creepy dude calling him uncle. Now I know why you’re a fan of Batman, you wanted both your parents dead to. Your complete bullshit, everything that comes out of your mouth is lies. Left all alone, no friends to support you, a sore loser who attacks people when they ain’t looking. That’s a bitch move, something only a bitch wrestler would do.”
“The pain I’ll be bringing will remind you all of who I am. Just another stragglers rising through the ranks. I don’t care about making a name for myself anymore, its all about getting that title. I ain’t gonna do any bitch shit like Salieri, I’ll just have to capture this spot for the title or I’ll just wait. Inflicting damage on two giants is going to be one of the hardest things I’ve done. I’ll see both your asses on Monday.”
