Sorry... I always have a slightly sick sense of humor when these things happen... Laughing is better then crying, right? I'm Fucking Hardcore... Hardcore Kings don't cry... right?

So... Yeah... My Dad died this morning... I'm really not su re how to handle this at all... I mean... I've lost loved ones before... But I've never experienced anything quite like this... I found out this morning when I was heading to my girlfriend's ("Arcadia" Katrina Olivetti) mom's house and decided to give my parents' house a call to check on my Dad... He's been steadily declining over the last two months and he's been on his Death Bed for the past week... I've been praying to the gods for the past few days for them to finally take him home... He's been ready... He accepted his death and even said goodbye to my family and I... I was ready for this... I was prepared for it... and it still hurt like a Motherfucker... I don't know how I thought this would all feel... or how I thought I'd be able to handle it and be a man about it... but it had no clue it would be this hard...

I've composed myself now and I think I have a relatively good grip on things... Details are still a little sketchy as to the exact times of the wake and funeral... but as far as I know, there should be a wake Monday night at Ruland Funeral Home on North Ocean Avenue in Patchogue, Long Island, New York... And the burial should be on Tuesday Morning in Calverton (just east of Riverhead).

I know that sounds a bit vague but if you live in the area and want more information... or even if you live too far away to attend and want to send me your condolences over the phone (a rare opportunity to speak to The Excellence of Extreme Live and In Person if there ever was one)... gimme a call tonight or tomorrow at 631-775-0875... Bro so sorry to hear man. We go back quite a ways been through a lot since we've known each other , but this def takes the cake. Know your dad is in a better place now, he knew that when he was going too thats why he could come to grips with it, and he'll always be there watching over you! Thanks, guys... I really appreciate the outpouring of support... I very well may show my face around here a bit more often now that that most recent chapter of my life has come to a close... We'll see how things develop... I'm sure you guys wouldn't complain about one more Blackwell around here...

I don't know you I just joined, but I know how you feel. I lost my grandmother a few years ago. The same week my wife and I were moving to Arizona!

She had a teaching job we had to be there in less than a week and a half. Two days in my grandmother died. I could not make the funeral in Ohio because I was leaving Colorado.

What I try to do is remember how they lived remember them keep them in your memory. With your dad remember all the good times you had remember them and when you can talk about them. When you have children tell them about him. Keep him in living memory.

Cry if you want, your dad must have meant alot but remember death is a new beginning. I will have you in my prayers at Mass this Sunday.
