Thanks to Tmarv, Mark, Evan, Kurt and Chris Hart for writing matches this week
Thanks to Tmarv, Evan, Nick, Biggs, Kurt, Level One, and Delikado for segments. I’m sure I did, but If I missed someone, or someone co-wrote a segment, let me know so you can get a bonus point for the ranking
Feedback on the show is welcomed. I apologize in advance is segments aren’t in order. There was some childish drama in the chat room tonight that took a lot of my attention off Overdrive, plus I got like 6 segments 10 minutes before I was about to post the show. And if you know me, I’m pretty anal about getting the show posted on time J
Anyways, I hope you all enjoy it

I apologize to Jeff, and everyone who read for the double segment posting in the show-- I sent Jeff the incorrect version of a segment that occurred in Evan's locker-room, then sent the correct one a couple of minutes later without much clarification causing both versions to be posted throughout the show. Hopefully that beautiful man we know and love named Jeff can make the proper amendments to those posts once he gets the time. Logan Alexander and John Dionysus should be credited for their bit in the segment. I'm going to TRY to get feedback up tonight, but if not, I'll definitely get it up tomorrow. Excellent match between Level One and Chris Hart. Simply excellent. I don't want to go into too much detail with it though until I read the rest of the show.

I guess I'll get the party started... Kind of glad I didn't send in a segment this week only because this show was SEGMENT heavy (I think Keaton and I were the only OD members not to appear in a seg?). I don't remember them all crystal clear, but I'd suggest, as an overall suggestion, that if you're submitting multiple segments, see if they can be linked, or if they really need to be on the show. I don't mean this to tell people not to write them, but just to conserve space I guess? Might not make sense and it might just be me being me, since I've been the only one to have issues/thoughts with segments in the past. Of the segments, I enjoyed most of them. I like the appearance of Dionysus at the end of the second Envi segment, kind of foreshadows a possible run in between old champion and new. The stuff revolving around Noble/Biggs/Marvin was also interesting, since it helped to build the Main Event but also built toward ONIH. A lot of good stuff was done in the segments to help build storylines, so can't say there is too much wrong. Maybe the length of one, but that's about it. Match wise...I think the only real gripe I had was with the opening match. It was well written and it dealt with the whole Level One/Hart thing, but it might have been best to put it as the Main Event. It was quite lengthy for an opener and might have made the rest of show look lesser? Obviously it's a PPV quality match (we already had Hart vs. L1 at a PPV) and I think that if it was being done to kinda cap things off, a ME spot might have done better and have the whole show build toward it...but that's just from my perspective, and I could be wrong since I didn't really take in outside factors as to why it would be an opener. As for the other matches...well they weren't as good as the ME lol but they were still good for an Overdrive show. Some nice feud building in some of them and some hard earned wins in others. Much love to Mania for the match, since, truthfully, I've looked forward to a meeting for a long time. Congrats to all the other winners as well. Now the ending...it's a nice touch and continues Noble's downward spiral. We once again saw that bit of humanity shine through a dark situation when Noble realizes he's hit his wife, which then leads to the entire deal with Marvin to close out the show. It reminds me of a feud in the past in APW (I want to say Talfourd/L1 from Rasslemania two years ago) with the heel getting the attention as the face since the face isn't really being the face (side note: with Noble going crazy and Hart in a casket, does that make Gates the #1 face again!?! ). I enjoyed it though, and it's really fun to see where they're taking it. I did kind chuckle at the line Chase has after Noble hits Amy when he says "HE FINALLY DID IT". Don't know why, but it made me laugh. Overall, pretty good show. Not as good as some of the ones before it, but it still had it's own moments. Won't rate it in anything other than a positive with how everything is building toward ONIH.

Just a few things.
SEGMENT HEAVY! I say that not to imply that it's a bad thing. I joined overdrive because it seemed to be the more segment friendly place to be. But some of these segments are too much or two many. I realize I send in multiple segments a week, so I'm probably part of the problem. I'm not saying we need less segments, but perhaps more organized?
I think it would help if you let Jeff know ahead of time if you were planning a segment or not, and give him some sort of an idea as to what. Perhaps there should be threads for each show for people to give a heads up of "Hey I'm planning to do a short/medium/long segment that should come before/after my match and I would like for it to be in-ring/backstage/New Hampsire." Just something like that.
This helps in 3 ways.
1. It gets you thinking about the sgs you plan so you're not throwing them together last second. 2. It lets others know your'e planning a segment so they can try to work with you / link them together. 3.It helps Jeff/Biggs/Rebel plan the show better.
Moving on now:
I thought the matches were once again solid. I expected the Casket match to be MASSIVE ME quality and it was. Great job to Hart on that one.
VERY nice job to Kurt for my match. I had some things I wanted incorporated and you executed them successfully. Thanks to AC for giving me a run for my money.....AGAIN! I would love to work with you more in the future.
The Post ME stuff was done EXCELLENTLY by Noble. Top notch Job on that. VERY VERY well done.
Very Good building show, but next week I thing a collaborative effort needs to be made between all the EC contestants. I'll take full blame for this not happening yet. I'll make a better effort to work with all of you.

I actually agree that there should be some sort of segment threads going on here. There is one fed I am on that actually does this and it really does work out because the placements don't go all over the place and you can pick your own spot and personally I feel that it really will encourage segments a lot more as well but that's just me. I am not the boss of things like that.

Segment threads could work, but the idea can be achieved by PMing the GM's and letting them know. The real issue would be the fact that segments were rolling in at 10 minutes to showtime, which doesn't leave tons of time to put them together. Maybe an earlier deadline on segments? And like Rebel said in the OOC thread, if that deadline comes by and the segment isn't in, it won't be on the show at all.
It all comes down to communication anyways. A few weeks ago I wanted to do a segment with Saint, and Dionysus wanted to do a segment with Saint. So Saint took both segment ideas and put them together in one segment.
I'm not saying that the threads won't work, it just might be....unnecessary? Not trashing it completely, just that the same thing can be achieved by PM

But sometimes there's been problems with PMing GM's with stuff like segments. It happened to me one time not here elsewhere same forum and everything that I sent in a segment to the owner and he didn't get it. That's why the segment threads I feel are a good idea in case it can happen here. Not that I have had problems here yet but you never know.

Yes, Terry. Please, let it be known - that wasn't directed to anyone personally. I am sorry if I came across harsh in my tone, btw - it was an aggressive post. I guess I am still in the mode from yesterday, plus mixed with my hate for the idea itself. Happy thoughts. ;D
(As for the initial comment, I mistakenly deleted it while editing this following post onto it.)
The match Chris wrote to open the show was AWESOME! I understand and agree with CJ Gates with it's placement on the show given it's length - but as long as it's done rarely, it can't hurt. I think it was out of the ordinary and so it stuck out like a sore thumb in this case... still, what a match and what a way to cap off the feud.
Segments were awesome all the way through. As of this post, I think I missed one towards the end but I will get to it, shortly. Nonetheless, I liked the Envi/Harris/Nick Watson in ring bit. Evan Envi is an amazing heel and Nick Watson came off very very well through the dialogue exchanges... if Nick wrote his part, you are really stepping your game up so props!
As far as the rest of Evan Envi/Nick Watson/Harris is concerned, it was all very well done but maybe a little too much? I think it was - but I feel both ways about it because pre meltdown I often wrote two, sometimes three segments for the show. So, who am I to talk?
The fact is, we have about fifteen guys on the overdrive roster - each one of us are active members building our respective feuds and story lines... I can't say how they should go about building their feud. We can do our best to conserve space but I think we will always have that problem... and I personally don't really mind segment heavy shows.
Segments > television matches, every time.
Speaking of segments... Terry Marvin is gold. He too was in a few of them like Envi but I can't get enough of Terry Marvin, I WANT MORE AND MORE! Though, he is turning face... which makes this entire L1/Terry Marvin alliance a bit more interesting!
Also, I loved the Kurt Noble/Biggs interaction earlier on. Biggs putting forth the truce to leave the women out of it was great and Kurt Noble acting like Level-One after bad steroid trip made me smile as well. What a fucking nut this guy is? ;D
Lastly, one last seg shout out to Delikado and Mark Mania. I really like what Delikado does with his feuds - there always out side of the box and light hearted which stands out from the traditional more serious builds. Both characters really came across well in the segment and it was entertaining as heck. Good job boys!
And then we have the main event... and what a fucking main event it was. The match itself was a brilliant concept and it's exactly what the fans would legitimately vote on in a real life situation, sick fucks. I almost expected Noble to lay out his wife, flat out during parts of the match, it was intense. Well done.
The ending really just topped it off. That's the second time in a row. BTW, I am stealing that front for crowd chants, now. Thanks! Terry Marvin, come on! Come back to the dark-side! Sadly, I can see you pulling off a face turn as well as you do a heel and that is scary, very scary.
As for that Chris Hart guy... I can't imagine him being available to compete in that elimination chamber. How unfortunate!

A bit tardy this week, but I promised feedback.
- Great pre-show promo, although this just made me wonder why this match wasn't higher up the card. The casket match itself was great; I understand the thoughts about its placement, but I can see how its good to open with a hot match like this every once in a while.
-Really enjoying the Evan Envi character at the moment. Okay, maybe sometimes the segments are a tad too long for a TV show, but there is a real quality to the writing and I always feel with Evan that he really thinks about his writing and what he wants to achieve with the character with everything he does. The Envi/Watson/Harris angle is a really good one because there is a nice mesh of personalities, and the manipulation of the situation by Envi is being built well. Thanks to Evan too for accommodating my request this week; he wrote this so he deserves all the credit and captured what I sent perfectly.
-Lots of Terry Marvin again. Sometimes I do wonder whether Marv is flirting with overkill, but it works because that is his character, plus he does a good job of tying segments down to some angle, rather than just putting out segments that are merely to give T-Marv all the attention. Plus, he's Undisputed Champ so he can do what he wants, right? Yeah, but Marv is going over as a boss heel right now. Although I feel this EEC match has maybe come a PPV or two early in Marv's story as Champion. But its not my show so I'll STFU.
-Really strong segment from Biggs and Noble, as you would expect from two of the best segment writers in APW. Great hype for the ME, as well as reminding the audience of the story behind it.
-Delikado's success is so deserved because this is a guy who goes out on a limb every week, and I love it when someone decides to go as leftfield with a character as Delikado; I just wish I had the confidence and the ability to do the same. Every week there is some line that I want to own and cherish forever.
-The matches, as always, are well-written, so props to everyone. I'm loving Noble's continued disintegration, and can just picture Terry Marvin sat backstage, watching it unravel on a TV screen with a knowing and satisfied grin on his face.
