Ladies and Gentlemen, welcome to Rave Reviews and I will be your host Rave Maddox. I am APW’s newest columnist and the man who will be bringing you show recaps and reviews for all three of the APW brands!
First, a bit about myself. I am a huge APW fan and have been one for quite a while. The atmosphere and talent in this place is one in a million. I have decided to cover APW exclusively because I’m tired of writing the same boring articles about the same boring football/baseball/basketball teams.
So without further ado, let’s get right into the thick of things with the 9/27 edition of APW’s overdrive!
Here we are in the…um….great city of Helsinki? Well, we’re in Helsinki at any rate. I will tell you one thing about Northern Europe. They have some really fine looking tail here. Some top quality ass to be sure. However, they also have some of the most Unfortunate looking women I’ve ever seen in my life. They’re either playboy models, or farm animals here folks, there is no happy medium.
Opening Segment
Boy, the fans here sure do love them some Level One don’t they? I haven’t heard booing this loud since they instated female hygiene regulations requiring waitresses to shave their pits. UUUUGGGGHHHH! Anyways, Level One comes out and touts his brutal beating of Chris Hart, but not before some hilarious hijinx by the beautiful yet clumsy LeWinter sisters! The funniest part about this is the crowd NOT letting Level One say a word. Some say it’s rude to tell a 3 time Undisputed Champion to shut his mouth…I say it’s hilarious!
Level One seems to be trying to win this crowd over but is failing miserably at it and resorts to insults and an angry rant! But never fear, he is Saved by the new self proclaimed hero of APW… the Undisputed Champion Terry Marvin! I don’t get this guy. I mean, is this some sort of trick? Is he for real? Sometimes I don’t even think HE knows. But he basically steals all of Level One’s thunder and says exactly what he was trying to! Whether or not he’s full of shit seems to be irrelevant to these fans as they absolutely love him for some reason. I guess love is blind….and deaf….and stupid! Terry leaves Level One pissed off as he seems to have completely embarrassed the former champ!
This was a very entertaining piece, but left me with a lot of questions. What’s going on with Marvin? What’s going on with Level One? Are they in cahoots? What happened to Hart? What’s going to happen next? If anything, they’ve definitely got me on the edge of my seat.
Opening Match
This is a classic contest between Power and agility. A.C. Smith is a mountain of a man with supreme power who’s looking for that big breakout win. Gates is quick as hell and is a former champion and established star who’s looking to keep the momentum of previous weeks going.
These two start off as a friendly contest, but things get heated fast with Gates taking full advantage of his speed. AC Smith displays his power and technical ability and dominates Gates for the early going. Smith plays it EXTREMELY smart and keeps Gates off his feet. If he’s grounded, his weapons are rendered useless. Smith makes the mistake of trying to go for the home run too early and Gates makes him pay, turning the whole match around.
Gates is so fast, Smith doesn’t even see it coming most of the time. But even a veteran is prone to mistakes as he too went for the gusto too early.
After some fast and furious wrestling, the two end up on the outside in a terrible fall that would have ended lesser men. After somehow making it back to their feet, they seem to be fighting on pure instinct… a fight that AC Smith somehow comes away with the victory in. HUGE win for that guy and that may be exactly what he needed. Too bad for Gates that the past couple weeks have seemed to be a peak for him. Let’s hope he regroups before ONIH!
Great, hard fought match by both men here.
Segment #2
DIONYSUS IS BACK. Great segment here showing the history and dynamic of John and Harris. These two have one more great battle left in them, and perhaps even a few more than that.
Harris is still the jerk he’s always been though. Here’s a man pouring his heart out is Dionysus and offering a show of respect. But Harris respects nothing and no one.
I hope John kicks his teeth in.

Ladies and Gentlemen, it is now time for the Comic Relief of the show as Mark and Deli have certainly steped that up a notch. Hilarious bit here with Deli trying to give Mark Rabies…..that’s right, you heard me, RABIES! Mania jumping on the couch was so great, I rewound it over and over again.
This is turning into the most entertaining feud in APW at this moment! When this boils over at ONIH, however, I have a feeling all the laughter stops and somebody’s going to get hurt. It may be all fun and games for now, but the Overdrive title is STILL at stake here.
Match #2[/u]
I know what some of you are thinking…. “Not this match AGAIN!” But you have no respect for history and rivalry. I’ve been begging for these guys to give it another go and they did not disappoint tonight. Dionysus came out strong and Harris seemed to be on a mission as well.
Clearly there were a few obvious displays of ring rust by Dionysus, but he still showed up strong! And SOMEHOW Harris gets the victory over John FINALLY! He definitely wasn’t waiting with open arms to welcome John Back, but what the hell is with that Referee? Did we hire that guy from the NFL Replacement pool?

Another segment heavy show I see.
Nick Watson is hurt? Did I know that? Did I see that? Do I care? Not so much. But still, you gotta hand it to Watson for stepping up against Kurt Noble, especially with his mind set recently. But Nick’s trying to be a hero now? Be a trend setter Nick, not a follower!

AHHH!!! Chainsaw Deli! Another great bit by these two! I’m not sure if Delikado really has rabies or is just from the same gene pool as Kurt Noble, but he’s lost his fucking marbles. And that means GREAT TV!
I too hate it when a rabid opossum betrays my trust… they’re usually so reliable!
Segment #6[/u]
Biggs is back and better than ever. He’s ready for the Elimination Chamber, and rips into all of his opponents. This is classic Biggs and was quite enjoyable. FINALLY somebody is taking a logical approach to this match and actually TALKING about it instead of being wrapped up in days of our lives.
And he brings in a special guest….his nemisis CJ GATES….AND ASKS HIM TO JOIN UP! What the hell is going on here? It’s like the scene from ghostbusters….”Cats and Dogs living together...”
Mind = Blown
But of course it was ruined by Level One and Marvin…seems that these two got on the same page awfully quick. The segment ends with Gates and Biggs standing tall together. UH-OH Overdrive!

Very heavy segment here with AC and Envi’s sister. Lot’s of emotional history here and it’s getting pretty deep….
Um, except for the “Congrats on your win” in the middle of their conversation about an ENTIRELY different subject….and then back to the subject at hand.
Random but Good little bit there.
Match #3[/u]
Now we have David vs. Goliath, that is if Goliath was a RAVING LUNITIC! Kurt Noble seemed to be trying to break Nick in half at certain parts. Still, Watson put up a hell of a fight, but once again proved overmatched.
And it’s official…the fans HATE Noble. Whatever did he do to them? You know besides enter into massive roid rage?

So Watson just had a match and he’s suddenly back in his locker room? That fucker is QUICK! Now Nick is hitting on Envi’s sister? That little slut sure does get around. Not exactly sure what this was all about, but I’m sure we’ll find out.

Keaton Saint vs. Level One….the stuff of legends. This was an amazing match starting off with some classic treachery by Level One. Keaton is WAY too trusting for this business. Perhaps he should work on that before somebody pays off a referee or handcuffs him to a steal cage….oh wait!
Saint acts like a man possessed. After his many run ins with Level One in the past, he wants to do everything in his power to put the man away. Alas, Level One is a tricky little bitch and uses cheap tactics to pick up a victory. This man is no hero and never will be!

Ah, siblings fighting, there’s something new. Evan really is just a little punk ass bitch. Don’t treat family like that, and show some respect. This guy pisses me off to the point of changing the channel whenever he comes on. Oh look at that, a new episode of the Real Housewives of Chino.

Ah, Noble, how the mighty have fallen. You were the Greatest Wrestler in APW just a few short weeks ago, and now here you are threatening a defenseless woman. You’ve become Terry Marvin….. Terry’s become you. This is one of the most bizarre flip flops since….well Rasslemania 2011. Anyways. Kurt is an asshole, always will be an asshole. I thought he had an excuse after Terry caused him to go nuts, but it turns out he’s just a calculating fuck head. Wonderful.

Wow… Kurt cleared out fast, and Faythe must be in the shower as this scene happens right after Kurt lost his marbles.
Anyways…. Level One is in a wheel chair….priceless. And he apparently doesn’t know where Finland is.
I’m loving this new Terry Marvin, and his rehabilitation of Level One as well. In NO way will this completely and totally blow up in his face.
Segment #12 (YES TWELVE)[/u]
MORE Delikado and Mania goodness. This time he sets up a sting operation and proves to the world that the rabies has gone strait to his brain.
Match #5 – MAIN EVENT[/u]
Finally, the match I’ve been waiting for. All three champions face off to see who reigns supreme. Apearently Darren Harvey has a short Term Memory. Shortly before Rasslemania, Kurt Noble defeated Overdrive Champion Marvin AND John Dionysus(xtreme champion) at the same time. So NO terry won’t be making history here!
These three men really showed why they are champions in this match. They gave it all out there, for no reason other than doing so. Sure, there was plenty of cheating and debauchery, but that’s what makes this match so great. I was at the edge of my seat for this one and enjoyed every second of it.
After some confusion caused by Envi’s sister, He gets planted by Delikado who wasn’t watching for the other member of this unholy trinity and Marvin picks up the HUGE victory here in this massive display. Great job by all involved, but Marvin proved once again why he holds the big belt.
Post Match[/u]
I’ve separated this into two parts.
Seems like Evan Envi is lost in some sort of delusions! When he wins, it’s all because of him. But when he loses, he has to blame somebody else. In this case, it is his sister Sienna. Now, it’s one thing to be mad, but it’s something completely different to lay your hands on her. Evan Envi has proven why NOBODY likes him. And it’s well deserved.
Of course, AC is out to save the day and Evan is GONE….. ALMOST! Here comes Nick Watson to deliver a little warning to Envi who seems to be fully prepared for the beating he……well doesn’t receive. Nick Watson is apparently all talk!
Meanwhile, Kurt Noble has broken into the locker room of Terry Marvin and is standing menacingly over Faythe with malice in his eyes. Terry is there in a flash to SAVE Faythe, something Noble was completely incapable of doing with AMY.
But the save comes with a price as Terry is pummeled by Kurt over and over until finally he eats a plane of glass! Kurt seems satisfied, and I for one think this is only the beginning of his furious rampage. This man needs to be stopped and at all cost.
And that’s our show… quite enjoyable and full of drama from top to bottom. Great matches, but NOT ENOUGH of them. Great Segments, but TOO MANY of them!
Five Memorable Moments
- Delikado: “he could just BLOW the air of rabies onto you! It’s BRILLIANT”
- AC Smith with a huge victory.
- Biggs and CJ on the same page?
- Evan/Harris/AC Smith/Watson, this whole thing is gonna get harrier and harrier. But now it seems like the woman beaters against the goodie two shoes.
- Marvin the hero….I’ll never get used to that.

This one is a two man tie.
Evan Envi for striking a woman…. Congratulations, you get to wear the COCKSUCKER Hat tonight and awarded the title “General Douchbag”
Kurt Noble for threatening a woman and trying to kill a man, literally.
