Jason Kash: Did you get it together?
Tidus Howe: Yeah Reginald looked it over and approved the set up for the Parking Lot Brawl. He actually liked the concept. I have to say, it's different. Where'd you get the idea from?
Jason Kash: Léon Gaultier. Google it. Regardless this gonna be laid out nicely. Imagine a Circle Ring where the ropes, the outline of the said ring is made of parked cars. No rules, no restrictions, just two dudes standing, boxing, slamming, and making the other one regret a single mistake made. Gotta love that shit!
He just wanted to fight, to compete against the best Asylum has to offer. To rise his own game and Jair Hopkins is a rising name, he knows that. He expects a tough fight, looks forward too it. It's all he can think about. Tidus continues talking but nothing is heard. As Kash comes into view, he is standing in a Public Bathroom at one of the sinks. His reflection in the mirror has eyes locked on himself. Music in the background vibrating the glass mirror. Finally Tidus breaks through and gets his attention.
Tidus Howe: KASH!! Hey, you there?
Jason Kash: Yeah I'm here man. Just thinking.
Tidus Howe: Well don't hurt yourself alright? Jair Hopkins has something planned, a guy like that won't come into this kind of a match, against this kind of opponent and freestyle it. You need to get right with your preparations. Make sure you bring this home. We need this win. Just in case..
Jason Kash: Just in case what? You don't think I have this under control? Don't like the game plan do you Tidus? Nobody is forcing you to remain, nobody NEEDS you around. You came into my life telling me how I can fix the bad Season and I fixed it myself. Not you! So don't pretend you have more pull than you actually do alright? I run this arrangement between you and I. Trust is something earned but also lost...Don't forget that. Bye.
He hangs up the phone, pocketing it and looking back up into the mirror to catch his own eye contact again. He feels the music in his skin, his hairs thumping with the sounds of Japanese Pop or Rap or whatever kind of music it's suppose to be playing in the background. He takes a deep breath, releasing it he remembers how a bong hit felt. His voice appears with his mouth moving in his reflection.
Jason Kash: So it's like this, for the last few shows I've done some shit people might not "like" me on Facebook for. Taking Johnny Sykes to his limit, sending him out of APW on a stretcher. Eliminating that weak ass Shane Borderland from being anything BUT my former Shadow. Then I beat not one but TWO of the three opponents I was "Punished" with. In the end, Hopkins got the victory but after going through two folks? Come on son! What can he really think to do in comparison? Not a single other person in APW has filled up a quota like I have for bodies left laying. I've turned this Season of J.A.S.O.N. around into not my nightmare but everyone else's nightmare.
Like Jair said though, the Season has to end and it will end as November turns into December. When the Season of J.A.S.O.N. ends, it doesn't mean I will end though and this is something that needs to sink in with folks. This time last year I was just skipping rocks and I made waves in the water, I'm chucking large rocks now and the ripple effect will be Jair Hopkins unconscious body laying up in the parking lot at One Night In Hell. THAT will be my mark left on the year, the Season. I will engrave this match into everyone's minds because of how it ends for him.
Hopkins is wrong about something though. He's yet to really experience what I've got to give inside of a sanctioned match. We've never been one on one, there have always been more around us. Changing how we've game planned. Now? It's just him and I...He doesn't get the ring treatment this time neither, he gets far worse. Reginald thought he was hurting my chances putting this match together. In truth he was just giving me a new environment to put someone through hell in. Thanks Capo!
The sound of a toilet flushing surprises him and he turns around as a Man opens the stall door and steps out. They make eye contact and the man who probably doesn't understand or speak English just nods at Kash and leaves in a hurry.
Jason Kash: He didn't even wash his hands...Where was I? Oh that's right, J.A.I.R. which..stands for Air Jordan how exactly? Srrious? Where does that even fit? Jordan is AFTER Air so you've got shit ass backwards already. You clearly aren't right in the head and that's coming from me! You can juke and spin out of everything you want and you'd never come close to being Barry Sanders so quit kidding yourself or anyone else watching. You're more like Larry Johnson, you performed decent to start off but have since plopped in the turf face first. Do I fear that? Whats there to fear Hopkins? You've not been SEEN much other than when Bailey recently put you on and THEN people took notice. Most were saying "Oh that's the dude fighting Kash next, I forgot he was Bailey's boy" and that is what you have remained. His Boy. Like I told you a few months back. Was I lying? That's a big N.O.P.E. ain't it?
But he got your back right? That's what is important. Like when I smash you at One Night, will he be watching? Will Ramirez be watching? Will either come to your rescue? How about Karin? I surely hope so..See I hope they watch, I hope they feel the pain and bow their heads and shed tears at the damage I'm going to put you through. Not cause you're some regular opponent but because I LOVE the challenge you bring to the table. We will leave a Memorial in that Parking Garage that rivals only Hiroshima. It will be the red blood stains left soaked into the concrete. My Hands, your Suffering. That's the game plan, it's all that I know. It's all that I am when this business is of concern.
Kash washes his hands under the splashing faucet. Drying them off using disposable paper towels, he leaves the bathroom. The door opens and the sound of music just blares into your ears. Kash stands outside the bathroom door and looks at the different stages in the club. Girls dancing, stripping if you wanna be a dick about it. All for the love of money, the need of currency to make an honest living the only way they know how. Maybe not but it's the path they have fallen upon and Kash appreciated it tremendously tonight. As he approaches the side of the first stage, he pulls out his wallet from his butt pocket. Opening the bill fold, he takes out a good stack of bills. All of it converted from Dollars to Yen.
He tosses a few bills onto the stage and the dancer makes her way over to him. Kash stuffs a few bills into her panty line and they share a smile. He takes a seat at an empty table, his eyes never leaving the female dancer but his thoughts somewhere else entirely. Having too much on his head, he stands from the table and launches the stack of money into the air above the stage. Women working the floors, the other stages and even some customers leap up and try to get their share of the "raining" currency. Kash leaves through the commotion and exits the building. A cold breeze sweeps over him as he stands on the sidewalk in front of the Strip Club. As he walks, he speaks out, his breath showing the chill in the air.
Jason Kash: You want a loophole to beat me Hopkins? There isn't one, you just have to be more prepared and not a person in this world can do that for you. Bailey can't. He fought and defeated someone completely different inside the ring and he had the world behind him. The fans, while they will be close by will not give you the power of cheers. You will not feed off their claps and hoorays because as soon as they roar, I will make them boo. I will rip any and every advantage you take because this belt, this world you have stepped into is MY environment. I run shit here, it's my class to teach and you're lesson has arrived.
Jair Hopkins was a Contender, Kash accepted that and welcomed that but what Hopkins was more than anything was someone who had a desire to beat Kash. That was what made him think. That was what made Jason Kash want this match more and more. In part too because this sent a message to Bailey that Kash wasn't far away. That at any moment the tides turn and Kash is putting a blade into Bailey's back. Doing so by any means he could. Right now that means was hurting Jair Hopkins. Hurting him or helping him see the light.
Jason Kash: You want some praise? Want me to tell you and everyone else how you are miles ahead of Johnny Sykes as far as a Challenge goes? How you are only missing KEY tools in order to become something special? All of that is true. However you will remain in the shadow of others, you'll remain trying to please people around you but inside the ring, inside of a fight it is only you. Nobody is there to help you, Bailey won't be out there if I crack your fucking skull because he has his own concerns. Those override yours. Plain and simple. There is no true loyalty there. Were you there when he got jumped by Shane Borderland? No? So much for loyalty huh? You and him are friends by association but I offer you a way out. A way to open the ceiling and climb from the limited reach you have in order to find success.
Now don't get me wrong, I want this fight. But after? If you can continue, if you can live to fight another day? Shake my hand. Accept me as the person you give loyalty too. I'm not scared of you, you surely aren't me right? As of late you've been fighting some inner demons, thoughts that at times bother you correct? I share those problems and have faced them, turned them into a positive. I'm not wanting to guide you or stand above you but beside you, helping you reach as I reach and push forward in achieving the goals we set for ourselves.
If you don't want too, that's fine. The offer though is a serious one. I won't lose any sleep if you don't take it, hell I don't sleep that much anyways. Either way I will not hesitate to put you away. Finishing you off is something I crave. This match, the ways of hurting you and feeling pain of my own, I crave these things because I enjoy them. The fight, the competition, it thrills me to no end. I like the challenge ahead of me and I hope it worries you...Think about that offer Hopkins. Imagine the force we'd become and we wouldn't be the only ones..
Standing on a small walking bridge, Kash looks down at the dark water. The moon sparkling in it's reflection catches his eye. He stares up at the bright moon and notices stars faded and some brightly shined. This brings him closer to a peacefulness, something he hasn't had in a while. His thoughts clear, his anger relaxes. He almost seems tired and ready to sleep.
Jason Kash: This event, One Night In Hell. It means something to me more than most. This is the same event I lost my teeth at, the same event where I knew Shane Borderland was a no good loser. The very same event where I beat Rico Casteel and Sally Talfourd. In one night, this event had become a Memorable moment for me. Now a year has passed and it's time to once again step into this event looking for another Homerun. Seeking that one moment that will define me for the remainder of the year.
For Halloween I will not dress up and pretend to be someone else. I will not hand out candy or go to some Scare House where I end up punching someone dressed up in something scary because they jump out at me. No, this year I will celebrate Halloween with the blood of a well placed opponent. I will smell the pain in the blood, hear the grunts of a hurting man and enjoy them because that's who I am. I'm not a twisted individual, I just like violence and Jair Hopkins is coming into some pain from that violence. I don't have to win this match. I have accomplished everything there is to accomplish on Asylum.
My work ethic, my preparations have given me many blessings. None of them in thanks to a God but thanks to what I push to achieve. Jair Hopkins I am glad it's you who gets to share this moment with me. I'm glad it's you who will be standing across from me when I go into war mode. Asylum is something I take pride in competing for. You on the other hand don't even know it's History. You don't deserve to be a Champion on Asylum, you haven't yet earned it. When I returned the Suicidal Belt to Asylum, it was replacing a piece of it's history. Not the history that Trevor Blackwell created but a Modern History of what evolved from that disgrace. What APW turned Asylum into is what is worth retaining.
My place in that history? That is worth fighting for, that is worth hurting you or anyone else for. Reginald might not see it but in me he has someone willing to go to Hell and back to maintain it's respect. NOBODY HAS BEEN MORE TO THIS BRAND THAN ME!! Not Bailey, Not Callahan, not even Sally Talfourd. Arcadia comes up SHORT when it comes to mattering more to Asylum when I'm in the conversation. I AM Asylum. You're just a name on the roster kid...I earned that while you've just floated by. Whats more truthful than that? Ninja Vanish!
Kash pulls from his pocket a small grey ball and throws it down into the ground at his feet. Thick clouds of smoke fill the area around him and only thickens as it spreads around. As it begins to fade, Kash is nowhere to be seen. A trick he must have picked up while staying in Japan.
