Knuckles: Absolute hell......
Torture by all and any means. A night in which violence reigns supreme, but for me? It's just another day at the office. The path forward for the chosen few is riddled with barbwire and C4. A match that favors the violent and punishes the weak. I am the number one seed, the first draw......
Now you enter MY world where I spend everyday being tortured for the sake of amusement. So who are you? A fresh face on the scene; looking to make a name for themselves. Perhaps, a name looking for that brief moment to shine. Sorry to burst the proverbial bubble; but it's just not happening. This blood soaked match was made for me. A token of gratitude for the hard work I've put into Asylum. Almost like giving the butler a broom for his birthday, wouldn't you agree?
This match isn't about skill, but about survival. Who can survive the longest in order to earn that shot at the title of violence of their perspective shows. I have helped bring violence back to the legacy of Asylum against those who sneer at it. I am proud of who I am and what I do.
Now here I am standing face to face with yet ANOTHER wall and it's in my way just as it is yours. You can either climb over it, tunnel under it, walk around it, kick it down or sit down in front of it; crying like a bitch with the life-is-not-fair; brick hating tears. But let's be honest: when you cry, your nose runs, and so do you. Your eyes get red and puffy. And when you're done, the wall will still be there.
The choice is yours.
Do you choose to continue running? Or do you come out full force? Whatever you decide, I'll there waiting. Ready to smash through you like a freight train screaming. My path takes me to the Suicidal Championship and in order to get there, I have kick down my wall. Self sacrifice is self preservation.....
This is my hell.....first man in, last man out.
One Night? PFFT!!
I will make yours; last an eternity.........
The scene opens up on a huge pile of metal, iron, and concrete with a hint of padding. The empty silence of the cold night air breezing through tarp, and Johnny Knuckles along with Mini, Maxi, and his camera guy “Mike” all just standing there; staring up at it. The tarp blows off revealing Mt. Midoriyama, located in Yokohama Prefecture, it is surprisingly close to the heart of Tokyo, Japan.
The area is considered and openly called “The Holy Ground.” There is nothing religious or Holy about Sasuke, but to those contestants or fans that live for the goal of achieving Total Victory, Mt. Midoriyama is a sacred place. As a former contestant, Knuckles knew the location of this hidden sanctuary in hopes of being able to prepare himself for his own night in hell.
Knuckles: This is it Mike. Take a nice deep breath and just absorb the presence of mind. Thousands of people have spent a lifetime trying to conquer a place like this but only three have ever done so, one of them twice.
Mike: I didn't know you were a contestant?
Knuckles: Once.....I missed my plane to get here and lost out on the chance to actually compete.
Mike: So you really didn't go for it.
Mini:......
Knuckles: I was LATE! Sue me. It's always been a life long dream of mine to at least try to go the distance.
Mike: So what's stopping you?
Knuckles: Nothing really. Time I suppose? With all the touring we do for APW, it certainly does take it's toll. I'll be back someday......
Mini:......
Knuckles: Why are you always so negative?
Mike: How the hell can you understand these guys?
Knuckles: HA, it's either a gift or a curse. Either way, I'm stuck with these guys.
Mini and Maxi stop and look at each other for a brief moment before glaring over at Knuckles in unison.
Mike: Well John, this is your chance. No fans, no camera's aside from mine. You really think you can conquer this beast? Are you ready to live a dream?
Knuckles: Yes, yes I can; and I am. Just like this Sunday when I show 13 other people what hell really is....in MY Asylum.
Knuckles walks over to the starting area as Mike fires up the camera. He puts his hands to his mouth and “hoffs” out as if to simulate the sounds of a cheering crowd. He looks around and just simply smiles that he finally gets the chance to live out a dream, even though it's not official, even though there are no fans or camera's. This wasn't for fame or fortune, this was his chance to make something real out of nothing.
Knuckles felt the same way about Asylum, about One Night In Hell. The Japanese Death Match over the top rope Battle Royal. This was his chance to finally get a shot at the championship he has almost coveted since the day he walked into APW nearly three years ago. Whether it was the Xtreme Championship on Overdrive or the Suicidal Championship on Asylum, it made no difference. To Knuckles, being the champion of violence was HIS World Heavyweight Championship. All of these thoughts ran through his mind as he made his way to the first obstacle, the Sextuple Steps.
Knuckles: These steps are the first obstacle in my way. Each step is a different member of Meltdown trying to keep me from the shot that is rightfully mine. Each step with it's own name: Tek, The Red Crow, Snake Boy, Ashton Daniels, Jerome Dubois, and even William D. Williams. Kinda' like Billy D. Williams but without the sex appeal or manly physique. Each person looking to make a name for themselves but have done nothing to deserve it. I have busted my ass for damn near three years to keep this business alive and the likes of pretenders like you could never keep me down. I understand that these guys want to move up but not on my dime. I will step over them like the bitches they are by making them mine.
Knuckles leaps from step to step; one by one calling out the names of the future fallen. He makes his way to the last step and leaps off to the next platform and makes his way to the next obstacle, the Rolling Escargot.
Knuckles: A mind bender of an obstacle. It's round-about ways could confuse anybody into falling into the nasty muck below. This is where Deviticus comes into play. He can pretend to be a dark and deep person but the fact is, he's just another played out sack of shit. The gimmick has been done before and it's just old news. It's not fear that motivates a guy like me, but the hope of a challenge and although he lacks said challenge, I'll take what little he has and stomp his nuts into pesto sauce. Unlike this jerky (ha I snuck it in), I don't need to talk a big game because I let my actions do the talking for me. I let my reputation speak for itself. Know what it's saying you ass hat? GET THE FUCK OUT OF MY WORLD!!
Knuckles wedges his feet into the bottom and grips the top. He proceeds to swing himself to the right in order for the rolling wheel to spin downward the rail; all the while Knuckles is spinning around and around until he reaches the end then hops off slightly dizzy but easily recovers his balance. He makes his way over to the next obstacle, the Jumping Spider. He looks at the trampoline then up at the split walls and considers what may happen for a moment.
Knuckles: Let's take a quick breather here and contemplate this one. While most guys would LOVE the chance to jump at Amy Zing and Kaylyn James Evans and go up the middle of them (gigiddy), I look forward to going through them. (gigiddy) I am not a gender biased person, they can ask Sally Talfourd all about that. (Hi Sally) I don't give a damn how many balls or lack-there-of are between their legs, I will not hesitate to fuck somebody up. Stephan Raab could tell them all about it. I didn't get into this business to get laid. I love to hurt people and regardless of how good they look, I will leave their faces looking like roast beef just like what they have in their pants.
Knuckles takes a good step back then runs at the trampoline, bounces off, and spreads himself between the walls and wedges his whole body up the middle. He maintains his grip and secures himself before hopping through it and making his way to the other side and dropping down to the next obstacle, The Halfpipe Attack.
Knuckles: I feel like I've beaten this one before. This must be the Stephan Raab obstacle. It's odd shaped and claimed to be warped and twisted but falls short without needing a signature. It starts off crooked, but after you leap to the rope it hangs itself with, you find yourself at a small landing that could take the balance right out from under you. Like most people on Meltdown and Asylum, they make it just fine and keep their balance to move onto bigger and better things. Would I call it simple? No, I would call it tricky. It could take me out if I don't pay attention even though there's nothing about it worth keeping my attention in the first place.
Knuckles runs along the curved wall and makes the leap to grab the rope that swings him over to the small landing. Knuckles drops down, keeping his balance, and simply walks over to the next area, the Warped Wall.
Knuckles: If there was ever a giant of an obstacle, it would certainly be this one. Yarmouth's favorite I'm sure. An 8 foot climb that would make any man crumble and gas out. For this, I may need a password, kinda like “Open Sesame”. Now what was it again?
*In a Marlon Brando Voice* STELLA!!!!!! No, that's not it.....(how many people got the “A street Car Named Desire” reference? )
*In an Edward voice* BELLA!!!!!No, that's not it either......
*In an Adam Sandler voice* WHERE'S MY UMBRELLA!!!! Damn it.....
Well, if this fella thinks that he can stop me from going the distance, then he must be as warped as this wall. If I have to climb over his big dumb ass, then he will be just another mountain I will obliterate to reach my goals.
Knuckles runs up the wall and hops up; grabbing the very top with one hand before grabbing it with the other and pulling himself up. He shakes off his worn grip and proceeds to his final obstacle, the Tarzan Rope & Rope Ladder.
Knuckles: This is where it all comes down to. This obstacle is surely a tribute to John Dionysus. His ascent to the Xtreme Championship on Overdrive was no accident. Not much of a man of violence but he adapted to his environment and survived. This final obstacle is where him and I will find each other, towards the end. We will surely be the final two left standing when it's all said and done and with each of us being the toughest challenges against each other in this match, it will be BRUTAL! This is the challenge I crave, the struggle I've been waiting for all night but alas, he will falter just like his reign as champion. He will crumble and fall off just as he did on Overdrive while I continue my ascent to finish what I started ever since Survive and Conquer back in January.
Knuckles grabs the rope and swings his way over to the cargo net where he continues his climb up. He makes his way to the top and runs over the bridge and presses the button to signal that he has completed the first stage of this amazing coarse. Standing there, slightly out of breath, he smiles and looks forward at the rest of Mt. Midoriyama. He hopes that someday, he can live out his dream and get the chance to compete on the grand stage.
Mike: How you feeling John? Inspired?
Knuckles: Empowered! I've done what most people waste their lives doing. Now that I'm done with the first stage of obstacles, I can face the rest. Christmas Chaos, here I come.
Knuckles climbs down and joins Mike and the rest of the Knuckles gang at the bottom. Just as they start to walk off, Mini slips backward and falls into the frozen murky water below the obstacles. They all laugh at him for a brief moment before helping him out of the icy cold water as the scene fades.
Knuckles: First man in, last man out. The story of my life right? I'll just get straight to the point in all this. I live for brutality, plain and simple. Nobody else in this thing has a damn clue how to survive like I do. How many of you have taken the beatings that I have? I would so much as impale each and every one of you through broken glass and onto rusty nails without even a second thought. I didn't come to win, I came to maim everybody here because this whole Pay Per View is where Asylum showcases the most violent offenders and I am it's biggest supporter.
My whole life has been hell. I went through hell at Survive and Conquer where I outlasted 86 people to make the final 4, I went through hell all year; struggling to get my shot at a championship. Make all the claims you like but when it all comes down to it, none of you have the tenacity or the instincts that I do. None of you have the desire or the iron will to get the job done.
What it all comes down to is who wants it most. While some of you can make the claim to be somebody in APW, while a few of you might even be able to back it up, while even one of you have been there before standing tall, nobody can feel it or need it more than me. This road, this first stage of MY PERSONAL Mt. Midoriyama, will put me one step closer to finally beating Jason Kash and becoming the Suicidal Champion. One Night In Hell is no place to preach non-violence and if you think you can scrape by without having to sacrifice and pay tribute to Asylum, then you're better off going back down the ladder to Overdrive.
Torture by all and any means. A night in which violence reigns supreme, but for me? It's just another day at the office. The path forward for the chosen few is riddled with barbwire and C4. A match that favors the violent and punishes the weak. I am the number one seed, the first draw......
