::It could be a locker room in any arena in the world. It so happens that this particular locker room is in an arena in the United States. As Meltdown makes its way to Ohio, the APW has a few shows before then. On this particular show, Amy Zing has found herself in a match.::
::The young newcomer known as “the Hong Kong Sensation” is partially dressed for her upcoming match, wearing her attire, but barefooted. Amy is seated on the floor, her boots on the floor next to her. She is reading a thick hardcover book. A beeping from her gym bag in her locker breaks her concentration. From the back cover of the book, she pulls out a slightly page-sized bookmark with a white queen in the foreground with a red pawn in the back on a black and white chessboard. She closes the book, the title, Breaking Dawn, the forth book of the Twilight saga, is visible as she gets to her feet and gets to her feet.::
::Reaching inside, she pulls her cellphone, turning its alarm function off and sets the phone back in, the bag along with the book. She turns and picks up her boots, walking to a nearby chair. She takes a seat and looks in front of her.::
“So maybe One Night In Hell didn’t go exactly as I wanted, probably didn’t go the way my opponent this week on Meltdown, Terra Bryant, wanted it to go either. I congratulated you Chris Strike by the way for winning that battle royal deathmatch thing. I may not have won the match, but that does not mean I am disappointed.”
::She smiles and shakes her head.::
“I am not disappointed at all.. Far from it actually.”
::Amy sets her boots down on the floor.::
“I suppose my attitude surprises a lot of people. It would surprise me if it did not surprise a few people.”
::She blinks for a moment in realization.::
“I suppose that’s called irony.”
::She shrugs.::
“A lot of people are surprised by the attitude I have Terra Bryant. People say that one cannot win all the time and I accept that. I went out at One Night in Hell into a crazy match and did the best I could. I had the skills to win, but luck was not on my side at One Night in Hell. Still, I put forth my best effort. I outlasted a few people and eliminated some. Not too bad of a night all things considered.”
::She picks up her right boot and starts to slip it on, tying the laces.::
“Taking that into account though Terra, I would like to win a match while in APW. There are other things I would like to do in APW, like win at least one championship, but I need victories to do something like that. Makes sense when you really think about it. I cannot expect to be considered a title contender if I do not attain a victory or two here and there.”
::She picks up her left boot and begins to slip it on. She ties the laces. As she finishes, she stands up from the chair. She paces a little, swinging her arms to stretch.::
“While my One Night In Hell debut did not end in victory, I can hope to make a better debut when I head to the first Meltdown of my APW career. I confess that I am bit nervous really. Not about the match you understand. No, I am confident in what I can do in the ring. I am more nervous about the crowd than I am the match. You see Terra, I have no idea what to expect from my fans in Ohio, or if I even have fans in Ohio. I have never wrestled in Ohio. Most of my career was spent in California, Mexico, Canada and Japan. I am fairly certain that even when I was in a major wrestling company, with a television program, that I never wrestled a show in Ohio. Seems a bit odd really. There are cities in Ohio that have arenas one could host an event at. I would like to think that someone in Ohio likes me or has at least seen what I can do in the ring and liked that. Would be rather embarrassing to walk out there and the crowd was absolutely dead. Of course at that point, I suppose I would simply have to give them a reason to cheer. After all, that is why I do this, to give the people watching me something to cheer about. It would seem a rather large waste of time and effort if no one was watching us or either cheering or jeering, or not having any reaction at all. Would not be much of a point really. I suppose this is how the presidential candidates feel, considering all the time they are spending in Ohio as if the rest of the United States did not matter. I would love to get half the reaction I have seen them getting on the news. Hopefully I am less annoying and repetitive than all those political advertisements. Anyway, the point I was trying to make…”
::Amy stops mid-sentence and closes her eyes. She places her hands on her hips and purses her lips.::
“Is completely lost because I was off rambling again.”
::She opens her eyes and sighs, this time out of frustration. She shakes her head and looks upward again.::
“Really do not have the slightest bloody idea why I keep doing that.”
::She sighs again.::
“I mean I know I do it, but I cannot seem to prevent myself from doing it. I get started and just keep going and going until I am like halfway through and realize that I have been rambling.”
“Anyway, where was I?”
::Placing her right index finger again her lips, tapping her lips in though. She snaps her fingers.::
“Right, my debut match at Meltdown.”
::She interlocks her hands and pushes them forward, causing them to turn so her palms are facing outward. Lifting her arms above her head, Amy arches her back as she stretches out. She pulls her hands apart and lowers them.::
“It seems like a new beginning to me in many ways. I would imagine in many ways it feels the same for my opponent this week, Terra Bryant. We are both new, neither of us won the battle royal at One Night In Hell and we are both trying to make a name for ourselves in the APW. Neither of us really seemed to have an accomplished career in our past. She had a few flashes here and there in a few companies. I have come close to championship glory but never quite got there. I have had a few big wins over title holders, but unfortunately they were not holding the titles at the time or if they were, they were not being defended at the time. Rotten luck really if you think about it. Sort of a right time, wrong place thing I suppose.”
::Moving to a bare wall, she lifts her right leg, touching the wall. She stretches out along her leg. She repeats this with her left.::
“I do not know your career Terra Bryant. All I really know of you is your orientation and that you have had a few opportunities here and there. I would imagine you would want to take the most of this second, or maybe even third chance. This is my second shot at the big time and I have no intention of wasting it.”
::Amy quickly returns to a standing position and looks a bit embarrassed, like she said something rude or mean-spirited. She back away from the wall::
“Not that I did not enjoy myself in Mexico, Canada, Japan and other places. Those were all great and I have wonderful memories. It is just that I want to see how well I do in a place like the APW.”
::She looks upwards to the heavens.::
“However, before I am able to see how far I can get in the APW, I have to take it one step at a time. At One Night In Hell, the battle royal was the first step, the second will come at Meltdown when I face you in the ring Terra Bryant.”
::Amy looks into the camera. Within the kind eyes of that friendly, maybe at times bubbly person Amy Zing is, there is also a drive to prove herself, a desire to see how far she can go. There is confidence in those eyes, despite the humility she shows.::
“I may indeed only know a few things about your Terra Bryant, and I will admit that they are hardly enough to assure my victory, but I do know enough about myself to believe I have a chance at victory.”
“I know that I will never quit no matter what odds are put in front of me. I do not allow myself to give up because giving up is like failure to me. I can handle losing because some nights, you are in the ring with an opponent who is just better or luckier than you. I cannot handle failure because I gave up.”
“I know I will continue to fight until I can no longer stand. Win, lose or draw, I am going to give it everything I have. Even if I do fail to attain victory, I will still hold my head up high because I put everything I had into winning, but just was not my night. ”
“I know as hard as you can hit, I can kick just as hard if not harder, and definitely faster.”
“Most of all, I know I am confident in my abilities and I believe in myself. I believe that my abilities are good enough to take me to the top of the APW. Someday, deep down inside, I know that someday I will be the one who receives the Mandate of Heaven and finally ”
::Amy closes her eyes, inhales deep and exhales slowly. She opens her eyes and smiles. Returning to her stretching, Amy shifts into a lunge position. She shifts between her right and left leg, holding for a second and moving to the other leg, going back and forth.::
“As I said, to get to the top, I have to beat you Terra. All things considered though, I really do not have an issues with you. Our match at Meltdown is not personal. I do not know you well enough to have formed any real opinion on you. That being said, I still have every intention of trying to kick your head off at Meltdown, simply because I want to try and win this match. I want to get my hands on that brass ring at least once.”
::Amy stands back up and walks to her bag. She digs through the bag, pulling out a ribbon. She ties it loosely on her right bicep, where it can be easily taken off and tied in her hair before the opening bell.::
::Amy closes her eyes, takes and calming breath and opens her eyes again. With sudden speed, she throws out a fast round house kick.::
“Terra Bryant, at Meltdown, I wish you good luck this week, not that I think you will need it, but because I have every intention of showing you, the fans in Ohio, everyone watching on television and the APW why I am simply Amy Zing.”
::Amy smiles as she turns and walks to the door. She walks out of the locker room and through the hallway. She steps up to the waiting area. Amy shakes her head and arms, jumping in place. She stops jumping as “Wait Your Turn” by Rhianna begins to play. Amy turns towards the camera with a smile.::
“Terra, I will see you Monday night.”
::Amy steps through the curtain and out into the arena full of cheering fans.::
