I was going to go another route but Rey Mysterio is too well known and has won too many championships for me to pass him up. Plus he has the Royal Rumble time record.

I'm predicting my choice has definitely annoyed one, if not two people.

This round spurs some great memories for me. I preferred WCW to WWF back in those days, mainly because of the incredible cruiserweights that really stole the show. It's a shame that they got the shaft in the end and nWo won out... because if they could have some how figured out a way to highlight some of the younger guys, we might be talking about WCW Nitro instead of WWE RAW.

I'm predicting my choice has definitely annoyed one, if not two people. The only person I can think of is Jeff, with his old Stampede/Hart Foundation thing he's got going on.

Well, bud, you just perturbed me again, because Christian was my first choice this round as well! I do what I can I was going to go Mysterio, but seeing Christian still there, I had to scoop him up. Another I was considering was Pillman, but I didn't know if Pillman would fit with what I was trying to do.

I'll be honest, my strategy isn't to win this thing, but to build a card that I'd like to see. I'm having fun with it, and not worrying about coming out on top.

Malenko is a solid pick. Almost picked him but Rey had the World Championship experience which Dean didn't so that was the deciding factor in my decision of Rey over Dean. Plus the fan appeal. The kiddies love Rey.

L-One, the big question: Which Madusa are you picking? You may end up needing to draft her implants at a later juncture!

Ha!
I'm having to keep in mind the fact that people don't necessarily follow Lucha or Puro ... otherwise I'd probably be all over them in picking.

It was either Malenko or Kid Kash that I was taking. I hadn't known of Kid Kash when I made Jason Kash but when I found out about him, I did everything to see everything he's done. Became an instant fan. I wanted Austin Aries but he's never won a Cruiserweight Strap so BOOO

Anytime I can use the Ultimo Dragon picture where he's holding about 12 titles, it's a good day.

Sort of jealous that Jeff gets to use the best theme song yet for Liger.

Sort of jealous that Jeff gets to use the best theme song yet for Liger. I dunno; WWE used the Steamboat theme for Dragon during his time there, and I may end up recycling it for my event as well! In all seriousness, I was a little torn between Dragon and someone else who I still want (but whom may end up getting taken later this round). Still, I'm a mark for Dragon's WCW work, which I don't think was ever fully appreciated for how good it was at the time. If you haven't seen the match between Dragon and Chris Jericho in Japan, which essentially got Jericho his ECW and WCW jobs, it's worth buying Jericho's DVD set from a year or two ago just for that match alone.

biggs: Haha at La Parka! I still occasionally catch him in AAA when I watch it. Funny cause I don't understand even 10% of the shit spoken, some very good wrestling shows. Vampiro, Teddy Hart, La Parka, Konnan even. Some good memories seeing those guys. Best Air Guitar in Pro Wrestling, FUCK Hogan!

I was sitting here torn, and then when Jeff Hardy got taken I was pissed, because I knew Christian wouldn't be available but I was hoping Hardy would be. I ended up going Kid Kash after much deliberation (and after TOTALLY deferring from the order I'd pm'd to Rebel in case I wasn't around), and I think I have a good match in mind with it.
Edit:
The #1 Pick on my list originally was actually picked by the person after me- I was planning to take Hurricane Helms on the Cruiserweight round, and ended up passing on it.

AC Smith, I kind of frowned seeing you latest pick. I'm personally not a big fan of Piper, haven't been a fan since I was far too young to know better. The two best things to me Piper has ever done INSIDE a match? Dog Collar Match vs. Greg Valentine and the Parking Lot Brawl with Goldust. Just me maybe.

Kash, go Youtube Piper vs Bret Hart from Wrestlemania 8. That will add another piper moment to your list

I've always looked at Piper as being a great talent if you're booking a promotion because of how good he is/was on the microphone but I've never felt he was ultra-talented in the ring. I agree with Jeff that Piper vs. Hart was a good match, but Hart never had a bad match - he could carry ANYONE to a good showing; especially at 'mania.

"They didn't come to see Hulk Hogan. They didn't come to see Roddy Piper. They came to see Hulk Hogan kick the SHIT out of Roddy Piper." - Piper, on WM1
And THAT'S why I was so happy to get him. Maybe he's not exactly a great mat technician, but people paid their money to hear Piper talk and to see him get the crap kicked out of him. Plus, Orton could work as well.

If he wasn't born in Canada, I would have scooped him up in the Euro round.
I do agree though, Piper is a great talent with a microphone more so then his in ring work. Hart vs. Piper was a great match.

In ring, Piper was merely okay, but on the mic, my goodness, hardly anybody could touch him! Great talker, great at getting heat. But it was the lack of in-ring ability that led me to pick Steamboat over Piper in round 2.
