The scene opens with the sound of heels taping against a newly waxed tile floor. A very formally dressed and newly acquired Action Packed Wrestling superstar walks from a Albany, New York elevator. He takes steps towards the lobby clerk that stands behind the desk almost small enough to be able to hide behind it while standing straight up. The female clerk stands a full five foot five with her hotel uniform form fitted to her small physique. Donald attempts to not notice the clothing as he walks up to the desk with a newly fitted tuxedo. He walks up to the clerk as the bell boy stands as still as a statue, analyzing the situation.
Donald Deruty: Hello mam, I am expecting a letter to be sent to myself. Have you received anything of that kind?
The clerk opes drawers of the desk that sits in front of her. Moments go by before she finally returns in sight of Donald with not a thing in sight of the grasp of her hands.
Clerk: I apologize Mr. Deruty, but we have not received anything to yourself.
Donald Deruty: It is all right miss. I will be back in the near future, maybe it will have come by then. Good day mam, and Happy Thanksgiving.
Clerk: As to yourself sir.
Donald then walks towards the exit of the Albany hotel and towards the side parking lot to the east of it. After several minutes of walking, Donald finally reaches the parking lot to find only one vehicle within the confides of the white stripped lines. A blue mustang sits, perfectly placed between the parking spot lines just awaiting to be taken out to town.
He makes his way towards the blue mustang, pulling out his Chevrolet car keys, unlocking the driver's side door. Donald backs out of the parking lot and heads down the road speeding a good five miles per hour. His destination is still unknown as he speeds his way through green and yellow stoplights.
Donald Deruty: A new week, and a new match. Although the saying doesn't necessarily reigns true for yours truly. This week, just miles away from my hometown, I will be put to the test not only once, but twice. I am getting rather ahead of myself, one foot at a time, so I will start in which what match I will be placed in first on the night of the twenty sixth of November.
It is time for the Tag Team Tourney to reign on as “The Silver Lining” and myself move on to face new competitors looking to end our tag team run. Unlike round one, we are put up against two very experienced competitors here in Action Packed Wrestling. Of course I am talking about the team of Evan Envi and Delikado, or otherly known as Evikado. Between the two of them they have many months more experience within Action Packed Wrestling than “The Silver Lining” and myself. They are also obviously the favored to win this week and move on to the finals. Two differnt qualities of being a good tag team fall into their category of expertise. What two qualities am I talking about you may ask? Well it is quite simple, they have the ability to work together, as well as equally amount of experience upon this company. Not only have they had just success, from what I have heard and seen, their past in Action Packed Wrestling is quite impressive and filled with admirable achievements. Although their principles and qualities of tag teaming are quite impressive, there are two other competitors that will on the opposite side of the ring come the twenty sixth of November that contain those same qualities and advantages.
Not only does those principles and qualities of being a good tag team fall upon Evan and Delikado, they also fall upon “The Silver Lining” and myself. We are quite familiar with each other not only in the ring, but outside of our wrestling careers as well. All of the past years before APW, we have been in the same corner in some cases, and in the opposite corner in others. Through out that time in which we competed, I have learned much about my partner that allows us to excel in the Tag Team Tourney. I can anticipate his every move within a four sided circle. We have not only been allies within the past, but enemies as well, the statement of “keep your allies close, and your enemies closer” reigns true. So if anyone knows “The Silver Lining” that person will be me. Evan and Delikado are not the only ones within this Tag Team tourney that has the chemistry and abilities of becoming the newly crowned Tag Team Champions.
Donald reaches towards the ignition of his royal blue Chevrolet. The four hundred and twelve horse power engine silences to a harsh halt. He unlocks the door and steps out of the Chevrolet to see a racing derby sitting upon its foundation. While wearing his formal clothing, Donald walks up to the gate, casually buys a single ticket and enters the gambling establishment. Step by step he takes through the derby until a small television hangs upon a wall in front of him, revealing all the odds of the contestants of the racing breeds.
He notices within the horses there is a given favorite that is favored to win the race two to one, then just below is another thoroughbred horse with the odds of one of fifty five. A smirk comes across the face of Donald from ear to ear as other pedestrians of the derby walk by behind him.
Donald Deruty: Two to one, that is some pretty high odds. It sounds like such odds everyone is giving Evan Envi and Delikado to win this week against the likes of “The Silver Lining” and myself. While we are given the small odds of one to fifty five, much like this horse, not even expecting to come close to competing. Although if history does do me well, an individual can't follow all upon odds and statistics. In derbies such as this many competitors and contestants have beaten the odds and upset the favorite, and then some go far beyond just winning a single match. Lets take one of the most historical and memorable Triple Crown winner, Secretariat for example, one of the biggest underdogs in the entire world of horse racing, yet “Big Red” defeated all odds and made a place in history. This week we are “Big Red” within the Tag Team Division, we are the ones that no one believes that we will achieve greatness.
As I speak of this week as such a challenge, I am merely being unorthodox. This match is a much higher challenge for “The Silver Lining” and myself than I speak of. This week is only the Preakness Stakes of our Triple Crown adventure. We have already won the Kentucky Derby, and now it is time for the second challenge of the trio. Standing in front of us are two already known individuals, yet we are just looked over as not even thought of a threat to them. Although the statistics and odds favor Evan and Delikado, there is one thing that cannot be measured by numbers, and that is the heart and determination within an individual contains. Although Evikado is seen as the favorites of the match because of their accolades, well to “The Silver Lining” and myself, accolades are nothing but the past and only the past. No single achievement or accolades anyone has acquired is going to change how we go into that four sided circle and compete each and every week.
The accolades that my opponents have accomplished is quite impressive, and is a supported reason upon itself. Although, accolades do not fear “The Silver Lining” nor myself. Upon the first round of the Tag Team Tourney, we competed against the current Xtreme Champion, yet his current accomplishment and accolade was impressive, it didn't change our performances within the ring. Achievements are completely erased once you step into that Action Packed Wrestling labeled four sided circle. Once an individual steps into that ring, everything that happened or occurred in the past is clearly overshadowed by the present. The only thing that should be going through your head is a way to be able to win the match, nothing more, not when you were the former North American Champion, nor the former North American Champion. Of course I speak of Evan, who seems to be more concentrated about Aubrey Parker, and the North American Championship rather than his opponents that got the best of him and his partner last week on Meltdown. Evan, I think you should get your priorities in order before you step into that four sided circle with “The Silver Lining” and myself, because if you don't then we will have crossed the finish line before you have even started the race.
Donald then removes his attention from the television hanging upon the wall and directs his attention towards the betting booth a few feet to his right. He walks up towards the booth and pulls out a sum of twenty dollars and hands the cash to the handler. He places the bet upon the lowest odds. The handler looks upon Donald with a face of confusion before taking the money and placing it within the register and handing him his ticket of authenticity.
Donald Deruty: Odds? Odds are nothing but useless numbers favoring one individual over another. Numbers are nothing, unless they can be backed up with an action, and unfortunately for this race, the odds will be proven wrong for Evan and Delikado. Evan and Delikado, even though you two have the “edge”, so to say, over “The Silver Lining” and myself this week in the semi-finals, there is no telling the outcome of the challenge over "odds". A lot of money will placed upon your winning this match because of the "odds", and unfortunately for them their money will be ripped out of their own pockets. Sure, they went with the odds, but what really does odds benefit to or prove? “The Silver Lining” and myself will not be patronized upon these “odds” against us. No matter the “odds” or circumstancesm we will still walk to that four sided circle awaiting to add another “W” upon our resumes here in Action Packed Wrestling.
We are the Secretariats of Action Packed Wrestling. Proving that the "odds" are just a meaning less numbers. “The Silver Lining” and myself will prove to everyone who doubts us, just what we are made of. We will prove that the first round was no fluke, but as real as the 9/11 attacks upon that dreadful day. The Kentucky Derby is behind us, and next on our radar, is winning the Preakness Stake, then the Belmont Stakes. The race will be tight, but looking upon the meaning less “odds” Evan and Delikado have the advantage, yet I don't listen nor believe in numbers or statistics. I believe upon the abilities in that four sided circle, not some percentage that is made up for chance. You can't trust any numbers that are created for chance, and "The Silver Lining" and myself will prove that to each and everyone of the Action Packed Wrestling Universe when we get the 1...2...3 and move on to the finals of the Tag Team Tourney.
Donald holds up the ticket he received from the derby clerk in the tight grasp of his hand and fingers.
Donald Deruty: Place your bets everyone, the race is about to start!
The sound of the gate flying open, unleashing the racing horses, echoes throughout as the sight of Donald slowly starts to become transparent.
