APW.com has just recently posted footage of a disturbance in a hotel that prevented Johnny Knuckles from being able to be at the last Meltdown or Overdrive shows.
The scene opens up on the outside door of a hotel hallway. Mr. Dangerous is seen tip toeing through the halls with a referee following him close behind. He comes to a door and manages to open it with a key he got from the managers desk while nobody was around. He opens the door to very loud snores as a body inside was asleep. The camera's indicate that it's none other than Johnny Knuckles snoring and sleeping with his Dark Match Championship belt. Mr. Dangerous slowly creeps inside, signaling the ref to come in but to be quiet.
Dead asleep and conveniently on his back, Knuckles continues to snore like a basset hound. Mr. Dangerous “SHHHHH's” the ref as he quietly makes the cover on the unsuspecting Knuckles.....
Ref: 1............. 2............ 3! The New Dark Match Champion, Mr. Dangerous....
Mr. Dangerous: SHHH!
Just as he grabs the Dark Match Championship, he turns around and trips on Knuckles boots sending him into the ref as they both fall, knocking over everything that's on the dresser near by. The noise is loud enough to wake up Knuckles who realizes that he lost the title in his sleep. Mr. Dangerous gets up and tries to make a break for it but Knuckles, in his skivies, chases Mr. Dangerous out of the room and manages to slam him up against the wall. He then yells his battle cry of HEE HAWW!! and slams his fist into the back of Mr. Dangerous's skull with the Donkey Punch. He makes the cover as the ref counts.
Ref: 1.....2.......3! The New Dark Match Champion, Johnny Knuckles!
Knuckles, breathing heavily, laughs and holds the title in his face as if to taunt Mr. Dangerous. Out of nowhere, a man dressed in all black rushes Knuckes and clocks him in the back of the head with a lead pipe. Knuckles goes down as people start to wake up and check the hallways to see what all the noise is about. Sirens flash as the cops seem to be already closing in. Mr. Dangerous gets up and books it instead of going for another attempt while the man in black walks backwards slowly and laughs at his dirty work. He decides to run away too just as Knuckles starts to get back up.
