::Yet again, the scene opens to a gym in San Francisco, California. It is mid-afternoon. The light shines in through the large windows. Several people are using the various pieces of equipment, such as the treadmills, weights sets and the exercise bikes. However, none of these people are relevant to the matter at hand.::
::No, the only person that matters at the moment is the one working on a punching bag. However, the Asian woman who is in her early twenties, who, judging by the sweat on her, has been here awhile. She is wearing a black tank top, with a dark blue sports bra visible underneath the top, a pair of black gym shorts, a white Nike sweatband and black Nike Air sneakers. Her long black hair is tied in a pony tail. Strangly enough, or not so considering who it is, the woman is not punching the bag as one normally would. She is, in fact, kicking it.::
::Once again, as she is often found doing, Amy Zing is in the middle of practicing her kicks. Considering that her kicks are her strongest offensive weapon, it is hardly surprising she practices them as often as she does. Each kick causes the bag to sway. It is clear that no one wants to hold the bag for her.::
::At the moment, she seems to be in thought. She is still in her stance, but she is not looking at the bag, more off to the side really. She shrugs and looks back at the punching bag she has been kicking for awhile.::
“Truth be told, I am not totally sure if I have ever wrestled in Connecticut before. I know I never did in my indy days. I am fairly confident I never wrestled in Connecticut while I was in ACW. This is a first for me. It is not my first fatal fourway though. So that becomes something of an added factor to me. I probably have a few fans who will be in Hartford at Meltdown, so I plan to give them a show.”
::Amy stops kicking and bends down, picking up a bottle of water and drinking from it.::
“I find that I just couldn’t help but overhear what you said last week, Logan Alexander.”
“Now as much fun as it sounds for me to engage in another feud of sorts where myself and my rival just seem to banter back and forth as opposed to wrestle, considering I put my issues with Aubrey Parker behind me, I’d rather not.”
::She holds the bottle, not really paying attention to it as she speaks. She is looking at the bag, but her eyes seems far away.::
“This may be a tad presumptuous, as I have yet to compete in, let alone win the fatal fourway at Meltdown, but it occurs to me that myself, and I believe you are free for next week‘s Meltdown. That would be Monday, December 10th, if you are keeping track.. I think it would be better if you and I just skip the weeks of back and forth banter and prattling on and on and just wrestle then instead? It personally does not matter if you put the North American Championship is on the line or not, but if holding it offends you so, I am willing to try and take it from you.”
::For a moment, “The Hong Kong Sensation” allows herself a smile, then sighs.::
“You don’t have to accept Logan, but I am still making the nevertheless. I do hope you will answer one way or another.”
::She shakes her head and sets the water bottle down, throwing another kick at the punching bag.::
“Like I said, challenging Logan Alexander may be presumptuous. I would dare say my opponents this week would say it shows weakness, or a lack of confidence or even fear that I cannot win this fatal fourway. I am confident that I can win this match, but being confident in my ability to do so and actually doing it, as I have said many times in the past, are two totally different things. I find it a bit funny that in order to compete in a later fatal fourway, I have to win this fatal fourway”
“That however, is easier said than done. It’s not exactly like I am going into the ring against a bunch of losers. It could be argued that I myself am the odd one out in contest. Honestly, I am a bit confused as to why I am in this match when one considers my win/loss record. Not a great record, but I have not really been in APW that long. I suppose that makes me something of a dark horse in this match.”
::Amy hits the bag with a hard kick. She stops as the bag sways back and forth.::
“Look at who is involved in this match and I do appear a dark horse. William Black is a fantastic athlete, though he too may be a dark horse. Roy Speede is an amazing competitor. I know that from experience. By the way Roy, congratulations on your victory at Meltdown and continuing on in the Tag Team Championship tournament. Then there is Kaylyn James Evans, “the Perfect Ten” herself. She is, without a doubt, one of the most dominant, skilled and capable people I have ever been in the ring with.”
“Given everything the other competitors in this match are capable of, I find that I am really looking forward to this match. This is going to be a fantastic match. I suppose it’s good that I kind of feel like I have just finished wrestling three people after the war Aubrey Parker and I at Meltdown. Still, I am definitely eager for this week‘s Meltdown.”
“None of you should confuse my humility at being selected for this match as lack of confidence or desire. I absolutely would love to win this match. I am going to try my best to win at Meltdown. However, I accept the reality that I simply cannot win every match I am in. Would I love to win every match I compete in? Yes, yes I would. But I simply cannot. No matter how good or how great a competitor is, eventually, everyone loses. That is a good thing though, because losing allows us to improve and learn. At Meltdown, three people are going to learn something and hopefully improve for the nest time.”
::As if to prove her point about not lacking focus or drive or passion, Amy nails the still swaying bag with a hard roundhouse kick. The impact creates an audible thud-like sound, sending the bag swaying again.::
“Of my three opponents this week, I feel like I should start with you William Black because you and I have never met in the ring before. That in itself has me looking forward to this match. While you and I have never met in the ring, I have been watching your matches. From what I have seen, you are an incredible technical wrestler grappler. We would definitely have a style clash, you being more of a mat based wrestler while I ma really more martial arts and high flyer. Losing the mask has hardly seemed to hinder your ability. In fact, it seems to have made you better.”
::Having nothing else to do while the bag continues swinging back and forth like a pendulum, Amy picks up her water bottle again and takes a drink. She stands straight, crossing her arms as she watches the bag.::
“We’re kind of similar in our origins in a way William. My love of wrestling, my desire to be in this business, was started when I went to a show with friends of mine after moving to the United States. I was originally trained in lucha libre. Obviously I am a bit more of a martial artist than a luchador, but still. We have both run in indy promotions in Mexico. I wrestled in a few places in Japan but that is neither here nor there.”
“What I don’t have is your bloodline, your heritage. I am not a second generation wrestler. This is the life you were born for, whether you realize it or not. Getting this victory and possibly winning the North American Championship sets you on a road to establish your own chapter in your families legacy and gets you closer to getting out of that shadow or becoming the most successful of your family. I’d hate to see you end up like a few second generation wrestlers I have seen and sort of fizzle out. That‘s always disappointing. Getting back to my point, I am really eager to see what you and I can do in the ring against each other. It‘s going to be great.”
::The bag stops swaying. Amy takes another drink, still looking at the bag.::
“I have met you in the ring Roy Speede. I can’t deny it, that night, you and Donald Deruty were just the better team. You two have proven to be a capable, well balanced and solid team. I am well woman enough to admit that, if you will pardon my paraphrasing the expression. This, however, is not tag team match, though I doubt it will effect you all that much. No Roy, you have had an incredible career already, multiple title reigns and numerous victories and it will only get more incredible in APW, of that I have no doubt. That being said, you can hardly blame me for wanting to get back between the ropes with someone like you.”
“As I said, the last time was your night. I have been rather eager to get back into the ring with you. Now, granted, I would have preferred a one-on-one encounter, but I will take this. Last time, you were able to pull off the victory. Perhaps this time, fortune will favor me.”
“Now, I know wrestling logic dictates that I am too have some sort of score to settle with you regarding y loss in the tag team match a few weeks ago. Personally, I see no reason for such a thing. I have no regrets over losing to someone of your caliber. As I have repeatedly said, no one wins every match. It was a pretty good match. However, Roy, I hope you will excuse me for doing my best to try and win this one.”
::Amy sets the water bottle back down.::
“Of all the people in this match, you, Kaylyn James Evans are the one I have really wanted to get back into the ring with. I have the utmost respect for you as a competitor Kaylyn. You were one of the longest reigning ACW Women’s Champions in the company’s history. You have skill, strength, intelligence and beauty. You are truly a “perfect ten”. Really the only thing I could say against you is that since your divorce, you seem to just latch onto completely wrong guys. Granted, I am one to talk having never been married or not currently having a steady boyfriend for awhile, as my mother constantly reminds me. Not that I don’t date, but it is hard to get a stable relationship going when I am on the road a lot. I suppose that is why it seems you lean towards other wrestlers. I am not one to judge, Kaylyn, and I know we are not friends, but I really think you could do better relationship wise than you have been.”
::“The Hong Kong Sensation” blushes a bit, looking like she said something wrong and realizing she was sort of just pointlessly rambling a bit. For the first time, she looks at the camera, her posture and face appearing apologetic.
“Sorry, none of my business. We’re not friends and I have no right to judge. I apologize. Completely out of line, sorry.”
::Amy rubs the back of her neck sheepishly for a moment while trying to regain her train of thought. She quickly turns back to the bag, as if trying to change subject.::
“Getting back to what I was saying Kaylyn, I have tremendous respect for you. You and I have wrestled only once Kaylyn, in which I was victorious. I keep saying my win over you was is the biggest win of my career simply because you’re probably the most accomplished wrestler I’ve been in the ring with. I respect that you never made an excuse for that loss. I would be lying, however, if I said I didn’t want to get back into the ring with you Kaylyn.”
“Since you debuted in the APW, you have done nothing but dominate your opponents. Not really that surprising considering who you are. It is hard to deny that you are probably a favorite to win this. After all, winning is pretty much what you do Kaylyn and it’s definitely what you‘ve done since arriving in APW. I have absolutely no doubt in my mind that you will not make this match any easier.”
::With a sudden burst of speed, Amy nails the bag with a series of kicks.::
“Not that I thought this match was going to be easy. I think fatal fourways are a lot harder than say a triple threat match. In a triple threat, all you need to do is eliminate one person and maybe you can get a quick win over the tother person in the ring. In something like this, well you really need to have eyes in the back of your head because you have at least one extra person to keep and eye on. No, there is no part of this that is easy. Each of us only has a 25 percent chance to win this match. Obviously, some of us can make that 25 percent work for them better than others. Not really sure where I fall in that category. My history of fatal fourways is not as great as I would like, but I am going to take that 25 percent chance and run with it. I am more than willing to go through one fatal fourway to get into another. I am not sure, but I very well may be the only person in this match who has never worn a championship in their career. I could be wrong, as I don’t know William Black’s title history. Regardless, this match is my chance to get a shot at winning my first championship. I, as I have said, may be something of a dark horse in this match, but that has never stopped me before. Twenty-five percent may be all the odds I need to pull off the win at Meltdown.”
::Amy starts to rapidly alternate her legs as she kicks the bag, switching between her right and left leg. Although she favors her right leg, she has shown a tendency to throw out the occasional kick with her left leg.
“This is sort of a high risk, low reward thing, but still it is a reward worth going after. I look at it as just another challenge. If I can make it through this fatal fourway, then maybe, just maybe, I can make it through the next one and be able to help Logan Alexander by taking his terrible burden of being North American Champion and end his terrible suffering.”
::Amy smiles a bit and shakes her head, seemingly amused at Logan Alexander as reluctant champion. She shakes her head, trying to regain her focus and connects with another kick to the bag.::
“William, Roy, Kaylyn, I wish you all luck. I am coming to Meltdown to win this fourway and show all of you, the fans and Logan Alexander why I am simply Amy Zing. I may not win, but I am definitely going to kick someone’s head off.”
::As if to illustrate her point, Amy hit’s the bag with the hardest kick yet, a devastating high speed roundhouse kick. The thud is clearly audible. The impact of the kick sends the bag swaying back and forth wider than before.::
::Amy turns to the camera only a bit. She has a smile on her face.::
“And Logan Alexander, I really do hope you accept my challenge for next week. I‘d hate to think you would rather just talk about me than actually try and step into the ring with me.”
“Anyway, Roy, William, Kaylyn, I will see you all Monday in Hartford, Connecticut at Meltdown. Good luck, and may the best competitor win.”
::Amy hits the bag with a hard, violent and sudden thrust kick, which sends it swing away from her and back. As it swings back towards her, she connects with yet another roundhouse which knocks the bag away, causing it to swing back and forth. The scene fades out as “The Hong Kong Sensation” Amy Zing connects with her finisher, a jumping corkscrew roundhouse kick that she calls the Fenghuang Kick. The scene finally fades to black as she makes impact.::
::No, the only person that matters at the moment is the one working on a punching bag. However, the Asian woman who is in her early twenties, who, judging by the sweat on her, has been here awhile.
