As if Asylum wasn't enough... she had happened to bump into Aubrey J. Parker on Meltdown as well. The bad blood between the two had been going on for years, and after all this time... they still couldn't be around one another for long before they wind up attacking. Parker had crossed the line when she slashed the items of both Kash and Kaylyn, and it was only fair she got the same in return.
After a hard fought win against Evan McDonald, and the back and forth with her and Parker... the last thing she wanted was a match like the one she seen her name on the card for.
“You have got to be kidding me. I mean, don't get me wrong.. I have been in the ring with more than half of the competitors before, the only face I am not familiar with is William Black. That is all fine and well.. I will deal with him just like I will deal with the rest.”
Sunlight shattering off of glass, the dawn breaking over the cityscape as the wind blew through cleanly. There was no grime, no grit or decay...only the clean lines of the man-made mountains of glass and steel though there was no other indication that there was any habitation here by human beings. No sound of early morning traffic to filter up and dismay the purity of the wind, the sun and the golden glitter of light fractured through glass.
Then came the shadow.
The sound of footfalls, over that whoosh of wind as it moved, the shadow cast over the panes of glass and darkening them where it touched.
Tick. Tap. Tock. Tock. Tocktocktocktocktock - FWOOSH.
The steps had become running and then the form of feminine perfection, she that had been called the Perfect Ten was seen in silhouette, running. Running along the top of this building, over one hundred stories in the air and then as the rush of adrenaline spoke, the edge of the roof coming up in a blitz of motion and there came that moment, hushed as she inhaled a breath.
A grunt of exertion, the rasp of breathing heavy and then the scrape of leather on the gravel that lined the edge of the roof... and then Kaylyn Evans jumped off and she fucking flew.
Haloed by the nimbus of the dawn's morning light, dazzling the eyes of those below who began to appear, one, two, a hundred...a thousand. Kaylyn Evans flew, her silken garments fluttering around her form...
BZZT BZZT BZZT BZZT
Kaylyn groaned and rolled over turning off the alarm that was set on her phone. After hitting the dismiss button she looked at the phone noticing the time as 05:00. Rolling onto her back once more she covered her face with her hands trying to remember why the alarm was set for so early. Sighing she sat up and moved from the bed, her nighty falling around her thighs. Until she remembered what she had to do, a shower would be the best start.
By eight Kaylyn was inside the gym, stretching out and trying to get rid of the kinks in her body. Sitting there in the middle of the mat she had her legs stretched to either side and her waist twisted left, and then right, stretching out the muscles in her back. There were still some muscles that didn't get enough of a workout during her routine for the day, but she would handle that later.
“You know, this is reminding me of my first match here all over again. Granted there are less people involved, the stakes are much the same. Instead of becoming the number one contender... it's a chance at becoming such. I have to admit, this is not something I expected. Actually, when it comes to titles... I loathe them. I have even handed over a title while at the casino for collateral, and fucked with the owners head making her think I lost the title at the casino. Then again... that's what she gets for not letting me vacate the title. Granted I have learned to live with titles around my waist if they happen to come my way.”
Kaylyn laughed softly, while pulling her hair back and tying it in a black band before Leaning forward, laying upon the ground to stretch. Sitting back up again she rolled her neck before pushing to a stand.
“Now, honestly, I don't know where to start. Do I start with William Black who I know nothing about? Or do I start with Amy Zing, or Roy Speede, both with whom I have history with? I have been thinking it over, and don't really know where to go. Thinking of past matches with Roy and Amy... well Roy and I have faced off one on one once, and you can't really call that a match seeing as we both walked away from it. Haha, those fans were pissed. Outside of that I have faced him in a two on two which came to a draw, and a 6 man battle with three titles on the line... none of which Roy walked out with. You remember that don't you Roy? I know I do, after all... I specifically eliminated you from that match. What a feeling that was. Ha! Then when I got to thinking about Amy Zing... Well, I faced her twice. Once in a number one contenders match that we both happened to fuck up in, though neither of us were the ones pinned, and then the following week we faced off one on one and I still remember feeling that Jian Kick that knocked me out letting you get the three count on me. I have to say Zing, you definitely impressed me then. Now however... is a completely different story.”
Kaylyn smirked before moving to her gym bag and pulling out a bottle of water. Opening it up she took a sip before recapping it and tossing it into the bag again.
“See, whatever happened with any of us in the past... it is just that. It's the past, and it doesn't mean a damn thing now. What matters now is what has happened here in APW. And really... so far... it's not much for any of us. We all happened to get signed within October, and since then, what has everyone really done? Amy has been focusing on Parker. Speede has been doing his thing in the tag tournament, and William Black has been showing the world that he is not someone to be taken lightly. Then there is me... and well... I have been doing a little of this and a little of that. I guess it all depends on what way you look at it.”
Kay shrugged her shoulders before continuing on.
“Every last one of us has our strengths and out weaknesses, but this week... it will all come into play more than anything. You might be wondering why right? Simply put, I plan to find out what all your weaknesses are and expose them in the ring. I will play to your weaknesses, and make you show your strengths. Sure, it could backfire, but I am certain I can adjust to anything that comes my way. I have proven that time and time again. So... Who to give my attention to first?
How about you Amy? We have been through this song and dance, even though it was two years ago. So much can happen in two years time. One thing that didn't change for either of us, is that want... that need... to shut Aubrey J. Parker up. I am glad to see that little bit has been put behind you after this past week on Meltdown. Now, you can focus on what is ahead, and leave her behind. She is no longer your problem... she is mine. However, right now... YOU are my problem. There might be some respect between the two of us for what we have accomplished, but that is as far as it goes. Outside of that we are on two different sides of the track. If you think back a ways... I am sure you will remember that Bitch I used to be... yeah, that much will never change. I am still a bitch... and now that Aubrey is gone.. I am THEE Bitch Meltdown, and if you can't remember just how much of a bitch I am.... go ahead and ask Roy Speede... ask him how he found out I wanted nothing to do with him anymore.”
A long laugh came from her, while she worse a huge smile, and brushed hair out of her face.
“Oh yes Roy... I went there. I am sure you might wind up bringing it up yourself so I figured I would save you the trouble. You should know more than anyone, that I do what I have to do in the business to move up in the ranks Roy. You seen me date Corey...he was on his way to running the show... and what happened once he started calling the shots? I got away with anything and everything I wanted. I am sure Aubrey Summers remembers all about that.”
Kaylyn laughed thinking about how she treated the new comer and how Roy came to her aid. The more he tried to fight to save her.. the more Kaylyn did to make her life a living hell. Ah, such sweet memories.
“Those were the days. You see, shortly after she vanished off the face of the earth... probably because she was realizing she was not going to get anywhere... I did make sure of that. Haha. Anyway, after she vanished, you still wanted to get at me for what I put her through, and what did I do? I worked my way into your heart and changed your mind. I believe that was the second time we faced one on one and I got you to just walk out on the match with me. Oh yes... I had it all thought out. I guess that's what happens when the one you want to be with chooses someone else... you make all the others pay.... well, at least I did.
Now, I know that might come as a shock to you... realizing the only reason I dated you was to get out of the match... but I have to admit, it wasn't all that bad in the end... that is.. until I left and never looked back. Little did I know I would decide to return to the ring again where you would also be. I am sure you want to pay me back for all of that hmm? I'll tell you what... bring it, I will be waiting to see what you have in the ring... because since the last time we faced... I have learned so much more, and have grown so much that I won't be an easy person to defeat what so ever. Believe that.”
Kay couldn't help but to wink after speaking before gathering her wits about her once more.
“That brings me to Mr. William Black. What can I really say about you? You are a big strong man.. big deal, nothing new. You have been on a winning streak since stepping foot into APW, well hell... outside of the huge Battle Royale that I was tossed into at One Night In Hell, I also have been undefeated. What it is all going to come down to is who want's this win more, and I promise you William.. I want it. There is nothing that is going to stop me from going through all of you. I want this win... I need this win. I have a lot to prove, and it's going to continue to be shown that I am not just a pretty face no matter what people might think. I am a competitor, a fighter. My looks has nothing to do with what I bring to the ring, it's my skill that gets me through a match, and people need to start seeing that. The woman in any federation are always looked down upon as nothing... nobodies... yet half the time we succeed more than the men. Keep that in your head when you step into the ring with two woman this week. Strength and size do not always get you very far... its skill, and I have plenty of it.”
Kaylyn smirked before grabbing her bag and tossing it over her shoulder.
“Now if you all don't mind... I have to go shower and get ready. I have plans for this evening that don't include the camera.”
Kay laughed before moving past the camera and heading through a door to the locker rooms to get presentable.
Kaylyn had been spending the evening with Jason Kash, a good friend and fellow competitor in APW, and for once she was surprised she didn't find herself wanting to beat the living hell out of him. It was actually refreshing. She wouldn't mention it aloud though because knowing her luck she would wind up jinxing it. Little did she know someone was recording the entire conversation.
“You all set for tomorrow night?”
Kaylyn laughed, nodding slightly.
“Sure I am. Have never been more ready honestly. Though... I really need to set these people straight. They really have no idea who I am.”
“I know you will show them.”
“You bet your ass I will. I mean I have William Black saying I should be a cheerleader... seriously? Is he fucking serious?”
“You would look good as a cheerleader...”
“Kash!”
“Just saying. Haha.”
Kaylyn shook her head and growled slightly before smirking, unable to hide her want to laugh as well.
“Anyway... Then I have Amy Zing who seems to have some kind of obsession with me... I mean seriously? She is keeping track of who I date. What kind of shit is that?”
“Oh yeah... you were married before..”
“I was stupid, anyway, its in the past. It should stay there. What I think people need to start focusing on is not my personal life, but what I do when I am in the ring. Since when did anything outside of the ring really matter?”
Kaylyn was regretting even thinking about Kash not driving her insane at all because just thinking it seems to have set up the jinx.
“I mean don't get me wrong... Amy is an amazing competitor... hell, I have yet to beat her.. but the fact that she knows so much about my personal life is just... uncanny. Better watch yourself Kash... she seems to think I have horrible taste in men... might want to make sure you keep your distance just to be safe.”
“I don't know... I don't always like to play it safe...haha.”
“Don't we all know it. I guess what it all boils down to this week is the fact that no matter what they say, all they are doing to getting me more fired up. All these cheesy comments and all the stupidity coming from all their mouths will only have them blaming themselves when I dominate and show everyone in APW what I am truly made of. I am no joke. I am not a cheerleader in the wrestling industry. I am someone who is going to be kicking a lot of ass. I am sure my own will get kicked as well, but each and every week my all will be put into everything I do. I Never half ass anything, and I don't plan to start now. So they can keep talking... and they had better believe I will be listening.
Amy Zing.. she needs to get off of Logan's ass. She is thinking too far ahead and it's going to suck when she doesn't get anywhere after this week. Guess she will get slapped with a face of reality. She wanted Parker... now she is solely focused on Logan... Wait your turn sweetheart, because there is someone else in line ahead of you... and that person will be going for that pretty little belt he took off the vulgar Aubrey J. Parker. That belt will come to mean something.... it will have a true champion holding it soon enough... and that will all fall into play after Meltdown. Believe that.
And did you see what Roy had to say in his blog this week? God, the puppy dog is so hell bent on me leaving his ass that he want's to run his little mouth. I love how everyone automatically assumes that when I talk to someone... I am automatically sleeping with them. If they only knew how that really was... Actually ROY should know it more than anyone... Little child is only so pissed because he never got anything that he really wanted from me. It's all good though... if he has to try to trash my name to make himself feel better, more power to him. Trashing my name will not get him anywhere and that is for damn sure. I think he will be even more pissed once he finds out that the only reason I looked his way was because I was pushed aside from the person I really cared about and...”
Before anything else is heard the feed cuts to static. Looks like someone was caught taping the conversation.
After a hard fought win against Evan McDonald, and the back and forth with her and Parker... the last thing she wanted was a match like the one she seen her name on the card for.
