The following is a post on the official blog of Roy Speede.
Well, good news. The first loss of my APW career is out of the way, and now I can focus on getting back on track and being successful, and not focusing solely on that stupid streak, and most certainly not on trying to win the North American Championship while I’ve got another title to pursue, and what better, I don’t have to worry about challenging my own tag team partner to a match to try to attain that North American Championship, even though there would be multiple other opponents to deal with as well. It allows me to zone in and focus on one thing and one thing only, and that’s defeating every tag team that sets foot in the path of D-Day and me en route to the tag team championship belts at Christmas Chaos; and that means, truthfully, that not a soul shall stop us from accomplishing that goal. But speaking of accomplishing goals, I’m sure our friend Kevin from back in my home state of Virginia is having a goal accomplished here by getting me to answer his question for him. Kevin writes...
Dear Mr. Speede,
What’s the most difficult part of being a professional wrestler and why?
That’s a great question, Kevin, and to sum it up... Honestly, I think the traveling is what takes the worst toll of anything on wrestlers. A lot of pro wrestlers have families back home, either in the form of brothers or sister, parents, grandparents and the like, or even in some cases wives or husbands and children that they rarely if ever get to see because they’re always on the road away from home either training for their matches or at the arena fighting them, and, at least for me, being away from my mom who’s sick in bed and my cousin who takes care of her day and night is hard for me. I know, it’s not right that I should get to be able to do all this, and that he should be there taking care of her, and as much as I hate having to leave her in the care of my cousin for this, I have a better reason than any of them can imagine; I wrestle to make the money for her doctor bills, after all, and if it weren’t for that, I wouldn’t even be a wrestler; I wouldn’t be famous right now, and nobody would care about what Roy Speede had to say or read his blog or any of that.
However, she needs the money to pay growing doctor bills, and as long as that’s the case, I’m a wrestler, and while I’m a wrestler, you best believe I’m going to do everything in my power to be the best damn wrestler I can be, at the expense of anybody who gets in my way, and right now, being the best wrestler I can be involves winning the Tag Team Championships alongside D-Day and bringing back what is truly considered honor into the tag division of Action Packed Wrestling. The thing that gets me is, why is it that the tag team champions to be are kept a part of the lowest-rated of the three shows while our opponents are stars on the major brands, or what have become known to be the major brands, while all of the newest talent is stuck on Meltdown. D-Day and I can sit here on Meltdown and turn it into the best brand of the bunch with all of the talent that may or may not exist on this brand that has gone untapped so far and is basically the biggest competition reserve in the history of professional wrestling if it is there, but he and I cannot do it alone, and that’s why D-Day and I will eventually become tag team champions; it will entitle us to a chance off this show to represent what really might be the greatest brand in professional wrestling today on those that overshadow it.
So needless to say, those that are put in our way had best man up or shut up, because there are those of us who are destined for greatness, and those of us destined to be the guys who can’t even win a match against the brand new guy fresh out of high school who doesn’t know the difference between a senton splash and a wanton splash in his cup of Chinese soup. And when I say man up or shut up, I mean that in context to those of our opponents who actually turn out to be males, because there are quite a few women who could use some toughening up, as if their ladybits don’t take enough of a pounding already.
AHAHAHA. I said ladybits.
Sorry, what were we talking about?
Oh, yeah, um... right, no offense to any females reading this by the way. But yeah, um... Kaylyn, stop sleeping with every guy on the roster and you might actually win that North American Championship one day. Or uh... maybe have a better win streak than the one you somehow or another are already on? Go figure that you’re my opponent again this week; doesn’t surprise me one bit that you are, because we both know that you pinning me was a fluke, and Amy Zing scoring that pin right in your face was the only way you actually did manage to get that.
AHAHA YEAH, I SAID IT. IN YO FACE! PUTA!
That means bitch, for you non-Spanish-speaking fans. Kaylyn James Evans is a bitch, and even if she’s a bitch with luck and wrestling ability, she is, nonetheless, a bitch. For a while, there, she even called herself Kaylyn ‘The Bitch’ Evans, so to tell the truth, no, acknowledging that she’s proud of her sassy personality isn’t the least bit out of line, and is pretty damn hilarious if you ask me. But, I must digress on the situation... Honestly, I feel sorry for the guy teaming with her, um... what’s his name? Tuhoa Valo or something like that? Doesn’t he call himself the Danish Dipshit? Or... no... The Swedish Scumbag! Errr.... crap, that’s not right either... Dang it, his nickname just isn’t coming to me right now!
Oh, no, no, wait, I know! I know! I know! The Finnish Phenom! Yeah, that’s him! Just... He’s not really that memorable for a ‘Phenom’, is he now?
Riddle me this; what sort of fame does he have other than being yet another competitor in that god forsaken North American Championship match that seems to have half the relevant members of the Meltdown Roster booked in it and only myself excluded from it within this tag team match? He got lucky and pinned D-Day at one point after my tag team partner missed a frog splash, sure, but that’s not happening again, and as far as I’m concerned... What does this thing even have to do with anything?
In truth, what does anything have to do with anything? Who even cares about what happened in the past when it comes to a wrestling match? I know I don’t. I’m looking toward the future, and seeing that this future, for the APW, is one where D-Day and The Silver Lining are atop not only APW but atop the entirety of the wrestling world through their reign of supremacy over Action Packed Wrestling, not only as a tag team, but as individuals as well. I’m talking Suicidal Championship reigns. I’m talking World Heavyweight Championship reigns. I’m talking about Undisputed Championship reigns, and everyone who knows me knows that when I say these things are fast approaching, that they’d better put one hell of a security system around their precious gold and get to the gym to get ready for the challenge of a lifetime.
And the same can be said for M&M and for The Dying Breed. I know fully that this match includes not only a former World Heavyweight Champion in Anthony Bailey, but also the current and former North American Champions in Logan Alexander and Aubrey J. Parker, and the fact the neither D-Day nor I has seen gold within the confines of Action Packed Wrestling means we should be at a severe disadvantage? Are we, though? Are we really at that big of a disadvantage because we don’t have the history here that our opponents do?
Nope. We’re the dark horses. We’re the ones that none of them know as much about, and while everyone and their brother recognizes the styles of Logan Alexander and Jair Hopkins in the ring, they’ll be asking, ‘who the hell is D-Day? Who the hell is Roy Speede? What sort of risk are they to us actually winning the match?’ And they’ll discredit us. They’ll think we’re the weaklings that nobody should take as a serious threat in the ring. And they’ll be absolutely wrong, no doubt about it, and when they’re lying on their backs while D-Day and I hold the titles, they’ll see that we’re the ones who are a force to be reckoned with.
In fact, D-Day and I are getting another chance to show just that this week, and it’s against, as I have previously brought up, The Finnish Phenom and The Perfect Ten, or if you prefer the generic reference of their names, Tuhoa Valo and Kaylyn James Evans. Now, needless to say, Kaylyn defeating me last week to get into that North American Title match has opened up a whole new chapter in our rivalry that spanned nearly a full year on the Indy circuit, and in the big leagues, that rivalry isn’t going to be one for which I’ll roll over and lay down. Yeah, okay, I’ve never pinned Kaylyn James Evans; that won’t last long. You can bet your ass it won’t; she’s an opponent this week, and that means she’s just as much at risk as she ever has been when she’s gotten into the ring against me. Even with a tag team partner, I highly doubt there’s anything she can say nor do to convince D-Day and myself that she isn’t just another opponent that needs to be taken care of like usual.
Speaking of taking care of opponents, Tuhoa Valo... D-Day has had two tries to take care of him, and until now has been unsuccessful; with Roy Speede in D-Day’s corner, this little rivalry with Tuhoa Valo is a thing of the past, and D-Day is going to be the victor in what otherwise has been a disappointing string of matches for my tag partner. Tuhoa Valo has gotten lucky against D-Day one too many times, and I’m going to put a stop to it once and for all this week in our tag team match, and by that I mean to specify the complete and utter defeat of not only Valo, but also Kaylyn James Evans is truly imminent, and that defeat will come at the hands of D-Day and The Silver Lining.
It’s only a matter of time until each and every single wrestler in this company recognize D-Day and I as threats to not only all the gold this company has to offer, but also threats to getting a shot at that gold any time in the near future; D-Day and I are set to begin a monopoly over the championships that are present in this company, and right now is but the Red Line Railroad that is putting us in motion. It’s just a matter of time before we step between those ropes, and this week, it’s Kaylyn James Evans and Tuhoa Valo, but at Christmas Chaos, M&M and The Dying Breed will be the ones that will be going Directly to Jail, do not Pass Go, do not collect your two hundred dollars. and thanks again for giving us the Free Parking, boys; D-Day and I will use that properly, and the big prize, the Boardwalk, will be ours for the taking. Are you feeling me here? Good. That just leaves one question then...
