The scene opens with the bright stars in the night sky. Not only is the stars shining in the night sky, but the bright lights of Las Vegas. A dark sea of citizens take steps between the several casinos and hotels that stand on the foundation of the great gambling empire known as Vegas. Appearing in the sea of individuals is a man dressed more formally than the average Vegas visitor, he can be seen in the darkness from the contrast of his white tuxedo and suit. The formally dressed Donald makes his way though out the crowded streets of the bright lights of Vegas until his feet approach the entrance to the world famous Bellagio hotel and casino.
He turns, following a river of individuals separating from the rest of the pack from the lite up streets paved in the most famous city of Nevada. Donald takes his first couple of steps inside the famous center of gambling. The red velvet ropes and carpet make no sound as Donald steps his way through the casino, passing multiple individuals sitting at different gambling tables such as Texas Hold'em, Black Jack, and the common child's game of War. Also many different roulette tables spin as Donald passes the several men and women placing multiple bets, and hoping for their luck to change. Although all these different gambling dens seem to be open for business, Donald seems to have his eyes set on one different destination, and plan in his APW superstar mind.
Donald Deruty: I felt the need to take some time off of my usual week of preparing for my match in the town in which the show is taking place. I have decided to do the same, yet in the city of lights, a city that people come to not only have fun, but press their own luck against the odds. Which is exactly what I will be doing come the 22nd of December. Although there are several variables that stand in my way of claiming the ultimate prize in the show of Meltdown. The North American Championship.
Many factors are put together to create this huge match, that has all competitors worrying what they will need to do to win int his five pack challenge. It is not only the odds of winning this match with a total of five competitors going for the same gold strapped around a piece of smooth leather, it is the quality of the competitors that most people put aside and seem to forget. The names of up and coming Action Packed Wrestling superstars just create a great future all star cast for the super show's main event on the night of December 22nd.
Of course we have the current North American Champion in the individual of Logan Alexander, a man that I will also see a day later when “The Silver Lining” and myself go on and fight for the Action Packed Wrestling Tag Team Championships. Although on the night of the 22nd it will be only myself, and no “Silver Lining” in my tag team corner. No matter if there is an individual within my corner of a tag team match, or a singles division where it is all men and women for themselves, I will still use all of my ability to overcome my opponents. Although no matter how much I rant, there is no disguising the challenges that I must overcome to become the newly crowned North American Champion. My opponents consist of the two lovely and beautiful Kaylyn James Evans, and Amy Zing. As well the individuals that call themselves “The Finnish Phenom” and “Chaos Stryke”, which are four competitors that will be standing in that exact same ring as yours truly, all going for the same piece of gold strapped on to that smooth leather belt, as well as the name that goes with that small piece of gold.
The challenges consist of the experience from the current North American Champion, and the talent and abilities that are contained by Tuhoa Valo, Kaylyn James Evans, and Amy Zing. All five competitors bring to the table the same amount of challenges that one must overcome to become the new or retain the North American Champion or North American Championship. My four individuals of competition, as well as myself have a night of giving every single ounce of power and will that we contain inside ourselves. A match with only one competitor is a feat to accomplish within itself, not to mention three more individuals thrown into the mix. No matter what any individuals say about the other individuals within the same confines of the four sided circle, there will be alliances and there will be team work, if someone only hopes to survive a match of this caliber and density. This match has so many different variables, that one can only have one thing on their mind, and that is how they are going to respond once these variables are uncovered. You see there will be under the radar alliances, there will be betrayals, and that is nothing I don't expect from these four individuals that will be facing none other than yours truly come Saturday night. I will allow my competition to rant on about how they will win this match with all of their un-most talent and heart, but the reality is that this match does not just involve talent, it also involves strategy, and a little luck.
All of these variables, I have already thought of before the bell has even rung to unleash the chaos between my competitors and myself. What time is the right time to go for a cover? Who can I trust in the match? Who can I believe will keep their words within our alliance? All variables that my opponents are not expecting to be given come the 22nd, but the harsh reality for my opponents are that their abilities and talents, are an undecided factor within this match. The factor that cannot be overruled, is the strategy to put yourself in the position to get that final 1...2...3.
Donald continues to walk on the red velvet carpet until he finally reaches his pre-determined destination. A high and slight ringing comes from Donald's destination, as well as lights as bright as the sun flickering on and off blinding the casualties that pass the complexity of the casino's slot machines.
He walks up to one of the few open stools, with all four legs attached to the ground creating a platform for the customers to sit and enjoy ruining their lives one quarter at a time. He calmly sits upon the red metal stool and pulls out a single quarter to place within the slot machine. With a quick and un-interupted motion he places the quarter in the slot, listening to hear the sound of it settling within the machine, and then pulling the lever. Awaiting the fate of his quarter, going against the odds much like himself at the Meltdown Supershow.
During his actions he is patted on the shoulder by a bulky man wearing a freshly tailored black suit. He stands towards Donald with a smirk across his face, while awaiting for Donald to turn towards him. Donald gets up from the stool in one fluid motion before he is greeted by the man that begins to grow an awkward look that seems to crawls upon his face. A confused and almost concerned look comes upon the look of Donald as he awaits for the man to confront him.
Mystery Man: Excuse me, but I believe that is my slot machine, I did have my coins on top of the machine.
Both men looks up towards the top of the machine for a cup, but there is no cup to be found upon the top of the slot machine. Immediately after observing the empty top of the slot machine, the man begins to build fire in his eyes. The rage fills his pupils as he directs all his anger at Donald in accusation of stealing the money that use to lay above the slot machine. Donald, in an attempt to calm the man speaks first before the man could explode with anger and rage.
Donald Deruty: Is there something wrong sir?
Mystery Man: Are you really asking me that question? You should know what is wrong with me...sir! Mycup of money is gone, and you are telling me that it was not here when you showed up? Who are you trying to kid?
Donald Deruty: Sir, I mean no harm. There was no money upon the top of this machine, I promise you that. I don't want any trouble so I am willing to pay you the dividend of the amount in the cup, I..
Mystery Man: I am afraid that wont do.
The man then charges at Donald, as Donald's face immediately turns from calm and secure to hostile. The man runs at Donald and just as Donald makes a move to side step the attack, the man is grabbed by two men wearing expensive tuxedos as well. One of the two gentlemen grab the angry civilian and drags him off towards the exit of the expensive casino, while the other gentleman in turn confronts Donald on what just occurred.
Bellagio Security: We are entirely sorry about the interruption from the gentleman. He is immediately being hauled out of the casino and you will not see another speck of him the rest of your time here at the Bellagio casino. To ensure that no more will interruptions occur we would like to invite you to a personal slot machine that we have set up upon the second floor, if you would oblige?
Donald Deruty: There is no need, but I can't decline an offer from such a gentleman. I appreciate what you are doing.
Bellagio Security: There is no need sir, we are only trying to make your stay more enjoyable.
Both men walk towards the south corner of the casino where an elevator with bright ivory lite colors can be seen and picked out of the rest of the bright lights because of the tint of yellow the lights possess. The two men await for the elevator to reach the lobby, once the elevator reaches and the door latches unleash the doors, allowing entry. Both men step on the newly waxed tile floor of the elevator as their dress shoes create echoes within the small confined space. The security reaches over with his intended right arm and places it upon the transparent button that reads “2nd floor”. With little to no force he pushes it in allowing the ivory button to light bright, for the rest of the ride for the two.
A ding informs the two that they have reached their respected level as they exit the elevator and the doors latch and clamp shut behind them. They walk into a room with a dark tint to the wall paper, almost of a dark greenish shade. All around the room are pictures of different gambling machines and tables, while the real three dimensional objects sit in front of Donald, upon the black carpet.
Bellagio Security: Enjoy your stay.
The security guard walks out of the room, leaving Donald to his peace. Donald then nearly immediately walks towards the slot machine sitting upon the corner of the room, he walks towards the machine, but does not sit upon the stool that lays before it.
Donald Deruty: This machine that stands before my eyes is a great example of the match that I will compete in at the Meltdown Supershow. You see the similarities are so obvious, yet no one notices. A match of the caliber and size of the five pack challenge involves many things much like this slot machine. Both this object that sits in front of me, and the main event that will occur on the 22nd both require one special attribute.
That one single attribute is luck. This machine is a pure example of my opponents this week during the North American Championship match. They will not give an inch to me, they will do all they can to make sure I do not walk out of Meltdown this week the North American Champion. Several times through out that match I will be entering a quarter after another, pulling that quarter, awaiting for those three sevens to appear upon my eyes and win the jackpot, the North American Championship. Although no matter how many times I pull on that lever, or attempt for a pin fall, my opponents will always be there to break it up. I will keep collecting and gaining all of those useless fruit until I am able to complete the pinfall while no one notices that it is going on. An individual going into this match with that kind of mentality will get a rude awaking, because much like the machine, the competitors aren't going to allow anyone to win that jackpot of the North American Championship.
Although luck isn't the only attribute that the new North American Champion will need to leave that ring with that belt wrapped around their waist. Another important mindset is being able to organically create your own luck. Some individuals believe that there is a pattern in which a machine follows to allow a jackpot. Well why don't you just call yours truly the man that stands back and follows the pattern of each and every pull of that lever. Unlike my opponents I am not going into this match swinging, I will be walking through those ropes with a plan on how to end up with that North American Championship when the match ends, and I will not only have my hand raised, but will have a nice leather belt full of gold around my waist.
Donald then decides to get up on the stool. He places himself on the cushion of the stool and pulls out yet another quarter before placing it in the machine, and pulling the lever. The pattern continues on as his hands move from his pockets to the slot of the machine, time and time again.
Donald Deruty: Unfortunately for my opponents, I understand what it takes to win a match like this, you can look just a few weeks back when I won the chance to become the #1 Contender for the North American Championship. A tag match of the same quantity, it didn't take skill, or ability, it only took one pinfall, and that is what I did. I allowed my opponents to wear each other down, when I came in and did exactly what I said I would do, leave with a chance at the title of #1 Contender. This match involving other fellow competitors will not be different.
While my opponents such as Tuhoa, come in and attempt to win the match with brute force, I will be on stand by awaiting the right time to get the 1...2...3. Over the past couple of weeks my opponent Tuhoa has proved that he can beat me in the ring one on one, even Kaylyn James Evans and himself has defeated “The Silver Lining” and myself last week in a tag match. Although in reality, this match is nothing like the past endeavors that we have met in that four sided circle. This match involves not only being physically skilled, but mentally as well, and unfortunately Tuhoa, your barbaric actions will prove to be your downfall. You may have defeated me in the small matches that doesn't have anything on the line, but the real question is can you win the big one, that is the real question everyone is asking about yourself, can you win the big one?
That is the question that everyone is asking about every competitor within this match besides one individual. Everyone has been impressed with the actions taken by Amy Zing, Kaylyn James Evans, Tuhoa Valo, and myself, but everyone is standing around awaiting for the outcome of who will come out on top. Action Packed Wrestling management, the Overdrive and Asylum roster are all asking each other the same question. A question that can only be answered on the night of the 22nd. Although there is one competitor in this match that has already proved that they can win the big match, and his name is Logan Alexander, the current North American Champion. Logan has nothing to prove, he doesn't even have a reason to be inducted in this match of intimidating proportions. His lack of appreciation for the North American Championship will become his downfall, his lack of drive to defend the North American Championship will be his downfall and he will be found laying with his shoulders down looking up at the ceiling of Madison Square Garden, while a new champion is crowned.
My competitors this week should be asking themselves the real questions, how far will they go to win the North American Championship? Are they willing to betray and end an alliance? Or will they be caught by the sound of the bell once the match is over? There are so many different questions surrounding this match of such quality and quantity, as well as the competitors involved within the match. Who can win the big one...and who will leave that ring on the 22nd of December with the North American Championship wrapped around their waist? I have one revelation that will answer all the questions floating about.
Donald enters one last quarter, and pulls the lever, releasing it back to its standby position as the slots spin rapidly. The three slots stop and reveal three “7”s, as lights above the machine shine “Jackpot!”. Gold coins and dollar coins start to spur out of the machine.
Donald Deruty: This will not be the only gold I will be taking home this week.
The scene goes to darkness.
He turns, following a river of individuals separating from the rest of the pack from the lite up streets paved in the most famous city of Nevada.
