IMO
Story Line: id say the attitude era and the whole invasion thing i remeber watching the final match (the 8 man tag) and being on the very edge of my seat. Or the whole HHH marryig Stephanie as she was about 2 marry test and the whole fiasco that followed.
Wrestling year : 97-98 as both were filled with over the top stroylines and the feeling that anything could happen at any time plus what was real and what was fake was hard to tell during this time.
Wrestler: Shawn Michaels simply because hes a great wrestler/showman but hes been in a whole variety of matches against a whole bunch of opponents, will be a shame when he finally leaves.

I'd say the 1980's.
The Jake 'The Snake' vs Honky Tonk Man SL then to Jake vs. Rude.
Best wrestler of the era: Hulk Hogan.
His match vs Ultimate Warrior was just wow. I forget which Wrestlemania it was but one hell of a match.

I'm gonna have to totall disagree with you because IMO the Ultamate Warrior was the biggest joke of a wrestler I have ever seen. He couldn't work at all. AT ALL. I remember just sitting there watching his match and he LITERALLY just did 5 clotheslines in a row and I was just praying for him to do a different move. I'd say for both WCW and WWE their prime days for storyline were 96-99 you never knew what the hell was going to happen
the absolute best year I guess was 97-98
best wrestler: Technicly: Bret Hart. The problem is he has 0 mic skills so.. For an all around best "Professional Wrestler" then: Scott Hall 1. I've personally never ever seen him botch a move 2. He's really what the buisness needed at the time- just think of when he showed up on Nitro, and basically single handedly put WCW in real competition for the monday night war. Plus for all the people who would say that "the NWO was holding younger talent down", its pretty much a well known fact he would job to people even when he wasn't supposed to (Example: Chris Jericho one time on nitro) 3. Even though he wasn't a "Great" wrestler, I never saw him EVER being carried in a match He's had matches with Bret Hart and Shawn Micheal's in their prime, and they both say the same thing about him "he gave me a great match" Isn't that what its really all about?

Best Story Line - Rock vs the McMahon Hemlsey faction, which resulted in the rock winning the then WWF title from triple H with the return from Austin at backlash 2000, the day after got Raw its highest rating ever, like a 7 point for the whole show! Wrestling Year - I'd go 1998 - 1999, From Austin beating micheals we had a roller coaster ride, that year had everything! - but mainly for the austin vs McMahon. Wrestler - Easy one, the Rock. I'm sorry but his matches were more entertaining than Austin's and the Game combined, my fav Rock match is vs. Chris Benoit, Fully Loaded 2000, it really took people for a ride, emotion up and down. Rock made you watch wrestling, he made Jericho, Triple H, Austin, Foley, Taker look good because of his charisma, which got ratings. Okay there are much better wrestlers out there, but nobody quit did it like the rock, IMO Nobody did it better... BTW - Best Moment, not storyline - Mick Foley wins the WWF title from the rock, Raw jan 1999 - the one with the coperation and DX ringside, Austin show's up and hits rock in the face with a chair? Pure Goosebumps!

I forget which Wrestlemania it was but one hell of a match. That was Wrestlemania VI...the Ultimate Challenge....I thought both of them looked like they were having seizures...you know, when Warrior would "channel the power of his ancestor spirits" and then Hogan doing his energy from the crowd thing...IMO
