Three years ago, if you said that Matt Metal and Hurricane Jeff would fight again, people would call you crazy. Three years ago if Matt Metal would be back in a wrestling ring, you’d get beat up for saying something stupid. But times have change. As time moves on, we all get a bit wiser. We now live in a time where nothing is impossible. We live in a time where medical science is so advanced that the possibilities are endless. At Shockwave, Matt Metal steps foot in the ring, one on one with the man who made him.
It all started five and a half years ago. Matt Metal signed up for Hurricane Jeff’s newest promotion, Combat Wrestling Federation. It didn’t take long for Matt Metal to be a break out star. Matt Metal became CWF World Champion and it didn’t take him long to challenge Hurricane Jeff to a title match at the 2003 Test for the Best event. The match took place inside a Hell in a Cell. At the time, Hurricane Jeff was an established superstar and it would be this match that would make or break Matt Metal.
The two battle each other and push each other to the limit. They broke through the cell, wrestled around the hell, on top of the cell. Metal fell off the side of the cell and went through the table. Metal kicked out of every signature move that Hurricane Jeff had and in the end Metal picked up the win. That night was the night that Metalmania was born and that was the night that Matt Metal gained the respect of everyone.
These two wouldn’t meet in the ring again until three months later in an Elimination Chambers matches where these two kick started the match up. The two would battle it out before Metals ally entered the match and double team Jeff until they both pinned him. That would mark the last time those two would fight in a CWF ring.
It wouldn’t be until January 13th, 2005 in WWC that Jeff and Metal would face off again. In a WWC title match on Shockwave with Metal champion at the time, the two battled it out only for the match to end in a no contest when a masked man, who then revealed as Trevor Blackwell, attacked both men. That year, the rumor for the main event for Rasslemania III was going to be Matt Metal against Hurricane Jeff, but Metal lost the title in the previous month, setting Jeff up with another opponent where Jeff went on to win the belt.
The last time we would see Metal and Jeff against each other, until APW was an episode of Shockwave on July 16 in a war games type match where the end result was Hurricane Jeff pinning Matt Metal after a Hurradriver to pick up the win for his team. Metal would then go on to retire with a broken neck and Jeff would later go start a new chapter in his career.
Three years later and Jeff opens up APW. It was on no one’s mind that Matt Metal would make an appearance here, but it happened. Jeff, the business man that he is, got in contract with Matt Metal and invited him to be part of something grand, Action Packed Wrestling. What was suppose to be Metal helping Jeff, quickly turned into Metal doing what was right which led to the two in the ring together at Test for the Best, exactly 5 years since the first time they fought. Jeff and his partner Kenny Lambardo pulled out the victory, but now, at Shockwave, finally, the epic battle that many have been waiting for will finally come.
This match is five years in the making. In a business like this, it’s almost unheard of, but Shockwave on August 31, will be a history making night when two legends battle it out once again. Will it be the last time these two fight? It very well may be, and that what makes this match so special. And one thing for sure is no matter who wins or loses, the winners in this match will be the fans because these two will put on a performance that will live on forever.
The scene opens up to a room in a basement. The camera is focused on the walls in the room, where you see Posters, Magazine covers in picture frame as well as Championship titles in glass cases. All of which belong to Hurricane Jeff. And while the camera is recording all this on the walls, you hear voices that sound like it’s coming from a TV. It’s the voices of Adam Sandler and Chris Rock, the CWF Commentators.
~~~
Hurricane Jeff picks Metal up and Metal gets behind Jeff and goes for a back slide. Jeff blocks it, turns around and picks Metal up and drops him with the HurraBreaker. 1……….2………..kick out.
Sandler: what does Hurricane Jeff have to do to win?
Rock: Pin Matt Metal!
Sandler: Nobody likes a smart ass.
Jeff gets up and so does Metal. Jeff punches Metal and then throws him into the ropes and hits a back body drop. Metal stumbles to the corner and Jeff gives Metal a few punches. Jeff then sets Metal up on the top rope. Jeff climbs the top rope and then Metal starts punching HJ in the stomach. Metal grabs Jeff’s arm, wraps it around Jeff’s neck and then Metal jumps off the top rope hitting the Nu Metal off the top rope. Metal crawls over to Jeff. 1…….2…………3.
The Camera man zooms out the on the TV and you see Hurricane Jeff sitting in a chair in front of the TV, watching that match that had took place 5 years and two months ag0. Wearing his “Fear The Hurricane” T-shirt and some cut off jean shorts, also with a APW baseball hat backwards, Hurricane Jeff turns towards the camera and begins to speak
HJ: Five years and two months Metal. Sixty two months. One thousand, eight Hundred and eighty Five days. It took that long to get to his point. It was then where this all began. It was then where we first stepped foot in the ring against each other. Hell in a Cell. Steel mesh surrounding us and we tore the place apart. Literately. At that point in time Matt Metal, you we’re a fast up and rising superstar and it was that match that was going to test your limits. To see if you have what it takes to survive in this business and you proved it. You showed the world what you we’re made of. But now Metal, five years later and again you have to show the world what your made of and you will show them that your nothing but a has been. That you’re a nobody without me. That you are an old broken down man. Its time you realize Metal that your not the same man you used to be. Your not the same man since your broken neck. You can’t expect to come into a match against Hurricane Jeff and not think that you career won’t be ended. You’d be foolish not to think that Metal.
See Metal, I brought you in to APW not because you we’re once a great wrestler. Not because of what you had accomplished. I brought you in to do one single job, help me get rid of Trevor Blackwell. And even though I did that without your help, I thought you’d do this favor for me for everything I’ve done for you. But no, Matt Metal had to be mr. nice guy. Well you know what Metal, Good guys finish last. Look at Trevor, Look at Kenny and Twister will be the same after Shockwave. You need to realize that this isn’t CWF or WWC anymore. You Metal are nothing here. You are a thing of the past and that the new guys are the main attraction. No one pays to see Matt Metal Anymore. Everyone comes to see Doctor Phate, Iggy, Michjael Lively, Hardcore Ice. Sure, maybe you help pave the way for them Metal, but the bottom line is that those guys are the money maker, not you. And the sooner you can realize that, the faster we can put an end to all this.
But you brought up an interesting note on Shockwave two weeks ago Metal. You said that I wanted that Buzz, that thrill and energy that you have. That I want to hear the cheers that I still have it. Well, here’s the thing. I get that buzz, thrill and energy everything my show goes on the air. I don’t need anyone to tell me that I still “have it” when I know I do. Especially the fans when the only thing they are good for is spending their money on my product to put more money in my pocket. That’s it. I could care less if they boo me, cheer for you or whatever. As long as they pay for tickets, pay for merchandise, and but Pay Per Views. I’m happy. And I know without them I have nothing, but without me they have nothing. You see, I control everything here in APW. I decided who wrestlers, I decided how much everything cost in APW. And This Sunday, I decide your life Matt Metal. Metal Mania officially dies at the hands of Mr. Rasslemania. I beat you to an inch of your life on Overdrive. I could have crippled you for the rest of your life, but incase you haven’t figured it out yet. I’m about the money, and I want you to show up at Shockwave Metal. I don’t care if you’re in a neck brace, wheel chair, stretcher or what. Because I want people to pay to see me Kill Metal Maina and Matt Metal. Because I don’t think you understand just how ruthless I am. Just want I really am capable of. Remember the first CWF Shockwave Metal, where you faced off against my mentor Alternativ, and you went the limit with him. Do you remember his last match ever. It was against me, in a steal cage match and I beat him to the point that the thought of him ever returning put fear in his mind. If I was able to do that to a man I respected, a man I looked up to. A man who trained me early in my career, just think what I will do to you!
Time is ticking Metal, and the time is almost here. For one last time, we go into the ring and this time, I’m not even sure what for. Is it to see who the better man is? We’re both great Metal, I’ll give you that. But for me, I don’t care if I win or lose, because at Shockwave, I’m showing you and the world a lesson and that lesson is the same lesson I’ve been preaching my entire career. You don’t mess with Hurricane Jeff.
Matt Metal, get ready for one more show down. Get ready for the biggest fight of your life. And you better believe this is a fight. And when its all said and done and all the smoke is cleared, there can only be one man who stands victorious and your looking at him. Metal, after you get caught in the biggest storm of your life, after you get caught in the Eye of the Hurricane, and your looking up at the heavens while lying in the depths of yell, and you’ll be hearing one thing from the sweet whispers in the wind “Winner, HURRICANE JEFF.” It will be at that moment Matt Metal, that Thru Howling Winds…..And Pouring Rain….You Will Fear…..THE HURRICANE!
See you at Shockwave
Jeff smiles at the camera as the camera fades to black.
