The scene opens with Carl Cage, wearing a black leather jacket and blue jeans, as he stands quietly against a brick wall. With his hands in the pockets of the jacket, Cage looks around casually for a moment, then kicks off the wall with a single leg and begins to stroll down the street. He walks without any real sense of purpose, and carries himself without any signs of emotion. When his eyes finally turn to the camera, they are void of any readable clues. His tone, is backed by it's ever-ready edge of intensity.
Cage: Walking down the road, you come across all kinds of people. From the Trump wanna-be's with a Rolex on the arm and a cellphone at the ready, to the Johnny Blue-Collars working on the street signs, and even all the way to rock bottom, where the down-on-your-luck'ers and sob-stories roam... it's a wide world of different lives. Be they successful or be they failed, everyone typically finds themselves there by one of three methods. Some play the odds and try to go it on luck. Some spit on the rules and ethics and try to get theirs the easy way, no matter who they have to cheat or destroy. And, every now and then... someone just works hard day in, day out, and tries to earn their success.
As you might have guessed... I'm painting a little analogical picture for you.
The road through wrestling is no different than the city street, bacause you can find all kinds of types up and down it. You can show any Hall of Fame list from any company, and I gurantee you that I'll find someone on it who made their career on one lucky day. I'll find you a few more who built their legacies on the backs of hamstrung victims. And also, I'll find a guy or two who stood up for decency and did it all on talent.
At the same time, I could look at any random group of guys from the Indy's and show you the exact same circumstances. I could find you a guy who could have been the next big thing, but was never fortunate enough to get the opportunity. I'll find you some that tried to take the easy way out, but didn't have the stroke to see it through. Instead of screwing someone else, they only cut their own careers short. And worst of all... perhaps the most predominant type... are the ones who tried to be stand-up guys and do-gooders, but just didn't have the talent. Intentions and values are only as good as what you can do with them, and unfortunately, God doesn't bless all with the strength and skill of a Main Event player.
Cage stops, and the camera zooms out to show him standing at a four-way intersection. He looks in all directions for a moment, still speaking as he does.
Cage: For some like Fyre Angel and The Hardcore Kid, this is a very interesting time. With the rest of your career ahead of you, you find yourself looking in all directions... and a variety of paths present themselves. But with just last week to go on, it saddens me to see another guy looking as if he may just go down Cheap Shot Avenue. But fortunately, the decision doesn't have to be final. Your in a fight with the right people, Fyre Angel and THK, because Carl Cage and Jason Royce are the kind of guy who can show you a better path. We won't just break you to prove our own worth, but we willl try and teach you something in the process to improve yours. We won’t help you intentionally it’s just our actions could just have that effect on you.
What THK did turning against me and his Tag Partner Jason Royce was the start of the end of his career because with out us he has no chance in hell in this business. I'm not worried about Fyre Angel I have beat her once and can do it again, I could beat THK and Fyre Angel on my own but that not the case because I have a talented tag partner in Jason Royce to rely on. Me and Royce are now Pure Innovation and are just going to be pure evil.
A firey tone and much more animated expressions now decorate Cage's words. He still stands at the corner of the four-way stop, pacing back and forth as he speaks.
Cage: When a guy like me get's a clean victory, it eats away at the soul. However Fyre Angel and THK like yourself will take clean victories all day. I don't train all week to have to put an asterik next to a match win, and I don't go out there and put on a show just for you two or the fans to ruin it. Those fans maybe paying to see Fyre Angel and THK win by there is no chance as me and Jason will win any means nesscery. In fact, they maybe paying to see you! but they are investing their time and money into an opportunity to see a master at work. They will want to experience the dominance that will become my trademark. They will want to see, even taste, my intensity for themselves. Usually, the TV screen just doesn't do it justice. They will want to hear every grunt, see every muscle ripple, and smell the fear. They will want to raise their arms and cheer my victory, and feel as if they accomplished something as well simply by being there to see it!
Cage closes his eyes and pauses, letting the emotions cool. When he reopens them, his eyes are now fixed straight ahead to the camera. A cold determination now enters his voice.
Cage: You don't even get what I'm talking about, do you? You, and probably most of this APW roster, don't understand what this business truly means. You don't get it with a silver tongue, and you can't win it by chance. You just have to be a man, night after night, and have the talent to keep winning.
This match is definitely an opportunity for you, Fyre Angel and THK, but not for a victory. The opportunity is one of learning... a chance for you to see what happens when someone reaches the highest level of performance.
In fact, I think all of APW would be wise to open those eyes and give this match their full attention. I came here making promises, and I always back up my word. I said that I would emerge as the leader of this company, and these are the times when I take those steps. Match by match, proof by proof... I will show you all the very thing that so many have already come to know. And, most importantly... what my Tag Partner Jason Royce already knows..
A long time ago, I chose my own path. I chose the path of the noble warrior, and have stood by it throughout. I succeed in that role because I have the fortitude to stick to that decision. No matter how many ambitious punks rise up and spit in my face, I hold my ground and knock them back down the mountain. I never come down to fight your game, but force you to step up and beat my at mine. A wrestling ring is only as dangerous as the men inside it, and none is more threatening than one occupied by Carl Cage. I will win by any means necessary... but because nobody is more determined. I may cut corners to get the job done. I may slip through the back door to reach my goal. But at the end of the day Me and Royce will win not matter who tries to stop us.
I attack whenever... I walk the straight line... and I strike you in your face.
And I can do it... because I'm just that good.
With a lasting stare of intensity and purpose, Cage's face dominates the scene as it all fades out.
